Picture yourself one step away from your dream, whatever your dream may be. You’ve got the talent, the desire, and the mindset to take you to the top. Yet, you’re missing two key components: control and experience. This is the situation Ebby Calvin “Nuke” Laloosh (played by Tim Robbins) is in. He’s a star pitcher that’s rapidly making his way through the minor leagues and finds himself pitching for the Durham Bulls, one team away from pitching for the New York Yankees. He’s a young pitcher with a thunderbolt for an arm, but when the ball leaves his hand, he’s got no idea where it’s going to go! Although most of the season they disagreed with each other, by the time Ebby was called up to the Yankees, they developed a lasting relationship, had a successful baseball season and both obtained their goals. Baseball is a simple game, you hit, run, catch, and throw. Yet, baseball is also a lifestyle to some and the movie Bull Durham portrays this through the young, inexperienced life of Ebby Calvin and the old, wise life of Crash Davis.
