Group Assignment#1 Date Due: March 24/15(Week 12) * worth 20% of your final grade Pick a chapter from your text, research it then present it with your group to the rest of the class. The chapter chosen should be one that will not be presented by the instructor (suggest one of the online class chapters). Each of the groups must pick a different chapter. The presentation should be at least 30 minutes, and professional. Each student will be responsible for the following three components:
Presentation - 30%
Your task is to research the topic and present it in class. Presentations will run no more than 30 minutes in length. You may present, and complete your topic however you choose. It is recommended that you include some type of participation from the class in your presentation. Your grade will be based on the following:
*Visual Component: Visual aid(s) used to enhance the presentation
*Participation: Have the class participate as a component of the presentation * due to time factor, only discuss what class activity would involve)
*Creativity: The presentation is to be delivered using a creative approach.
*Knowledge of Topic: A demonstrated knowledge about the chapter presented; all the information was clear and contained sufficient detail. Clarification was given when questions were asked.
*Organization: The information was presented in an organized and logical fashion for easy understanding.
*Time Frame: The presentation was delivered within the required time of 30 minutes.
Reference Sheet - 5%
Use at least four references outside of the textbook. At least half must be academic. Other sources can be obtained through the Internet, from magazines articles, etc. After your presentation, a reference sheet must be handed in.
Evaluation - 15%
Include an evaluation form that could be given to the class to use for feedback on your presentation.
Reflection Sheet - 50%
Each student will be required to submit a reflection sheet. This sheet will outline your individual experience during the process leading up to the presentation. Your Reflection sheet should combine what you learned in class and your experience working with the group in preparation for the presentation.
Expand your statements by giving detail, and if possible, give specific examples. For instance, did you learn anything about your communication skills (explain), or examples how your leadership style is reflected in the presentation. Did you run into any problems, and, if so, how did you solve them.
Include what sources you found while researching the topic. Which sources had the most information? Did you find researching your topic to be a challenge? How much time did you need to complete your research?
Your reflection sheet should be a minimum of two pages. It should be typed, double spaced, and font size 12. ONE reflection sheet is required from each student(this is the individual part of the assignment). Each student will hand in their reflection sheet at the beginning of the presentation.
