THE HARVARD REFERENCING SYSTEM
In the Harvard referencing system, cited publications are referred to as citation in the text by giving the author’s family name and the year of publication, and the details are listed in the reference list at the end of the text/work.

The process of citing references consists of two inter-related parts:
i. Citing - the way a writer refers from the text to the sources used in the assignment. ii. Referencing - the process of creating a reference list of each source a writer has used in writing the assignment.

CITATION IN THE TEXT
When writing a piece of work, you will need to refer to materials written or produced by others. This procedure is called citing or quoting references. The system that you have used to cite the sources must be consistent and accurate to enable readers to identify and locate the materials to which you have referred to. The same set of rules should be followed every time you cite a reference.

Material | An example of citation in the text | The entry in the reference list | | BOOKS | Single author | An important factor is… (Cameron 2002, p. 158) Khoo (1977, p. 45) argues that… | Cameron, SS 2002, Business student’s handbook: Learning skills for study and employment, Prentice Hall, Harlow. EXAMPLES OF REFERENCING

When you cite references in the text of your assignment, include:
 the author or editor’s family name (or organisation responsible) - do NOT include given names or initials
 the year of publication
 page(s) of publication (if appropriate and where available)

THE REFERENCE LIST
The reference list in the Harvard referencing system:
 is titled ‘References’
 is arranged alphabetically by author’s family name
 is a single list – books, journal articles and electronic sources are listed together and not arranged in a separate list
 includes the full details of your citation in the text
 is NOT a bibliography – you do not need to produce a bibliography for your assignments unless specifically asked to do so by your lecturer. A bibliography lists everything you may have read but did NOT use it in the course of doing the assignment while a reference list is limited to the citation in the text references used in your assignment.

My mommy is the only person I talk about my life, my problems, my achievements, and she fills up the emptiness I felt when I was down. In any instances, she never brought me down. I’m including this to my narrative, because even though she never really did felt the hard thing about “bearing down a child” because she was a post-cesarian section patient for me and my brothers, but she felt the pain in labor which is the hardest of them all as a patient told me. In my duty here in the delivery room made me reflect about the life my mommy, luckily gave me. So I decided not to waste it and cherish all the sacrifices and pain she felt when she was giving birth to me. And when I delivered my first ever baby, I texted my mommy right away saying, “Hey Mommy, I Love You! Thank you for this wonderstrucking life. I’ll be home soon.” Our clinical exposure here at Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center made us stressed, tired but we can tell ourselves that after this rotation. We can surely handle anything else. Thanks to our Clinical instructor Ma’am Marie Ann Lapitan, She was one of my favorite instructor *no joke*. From my group, I was the only person who never, as in, never experienced or even seen and assist an actual delivery. I told her that right away so I she’d know that I never handled any cases ever since. At first I was very afraid ‘coz Mam. Lapitan told...

Assignment on Sensory Marketing of Airtel

...INTRODUCTION TO TOPIC SENSORY MARKETING: Marketing techniques that aim to seduce the customer by using his senses to influence his feelings and behavior. Sense: Any of the faculties, as sight, hearing, smell, taste, or touch, by which humans and animals perceive stimuli originating from outside or inside the body. HISTORY: During the 1950s, marketers concentrated on using sight for branding. They focused on color and form to promote brands. This was because the main medium for advertising was posters. As television became popular, the consumers' sense of sound was appealed to in advertising. This was mainly during television commercials in the form of jingles (appendix a). In the 1970s marketers began to find that smell could be used in brand promotion. They were also able to adjust the scent of their products to make them more palatable for the consumer. Recently sensory branding has developed to encompass all five senses. Where it all starts….. Perceptual Encoding (process of meaning attribution) Sensation (five senses) Stimuli (exposure) See Ear Smell Taste Feel Sight Sound Odor Flavor Texture The Senses 1. Visual Sight is the most used sense for marketing because it is the one most responsive to the environment. According to fashion retailer Gina Tricot, 'the eyes buy 70 or 80 percent of what people buy.' Sight is how the customer knows the product offering, quality, changes...

Yaaden - the Making

...sensation to appear in Bollywood. Of course, the fact that the producer of the movie seems to be his father (I am not sure of the relationship but they both do have the same last name) might have something to do with this high praise. Actually, Rohit Kumar does not dazzle us with his acting prowess in the movie but his performance is adequate and he is perfect for the role of the son of Dharmendra (the other hero of this two hero project - sort of -) because their features are somewhat similar. The story, as usually happens in any Hindi movie, is the same old formula thing but is pretty interesting because of the way the relationship between the father and son is portrayed. Anjali - "The Lyril Girl" as she's known in India - plays the part of the girl that Rohit falls in love with and who happens to be (big surprise!) the daughter of the villain (Prem Chopra). The story is about the love between a father and a son and how they are friends as well as being a father and a son. The two of them live in a colony where the people work for rich contractor Prem Chopra. Prem's father-in-law, who is dead and who owned the construction business, had promised the people that he would build houses for them and part of the story revolves around Dharmendra's and Rohit's fight to get the promised houses built for their people. The rest of the story is about Rohit's and Anjali's love affair and the "third man" in the triangle - Mohnish Bahl. Music makers Anand-Milind make an appearance...
