Market Analysis & Insight
Introduction
Marketing is a very important part of any successful company. In order to have successful marketing one must create a marketing plan to help the marketing for the company.
Definition of Marketing Plan
A marketing plan is a written document that companies use to write all the individual details they will need in order to accomplish any and all goals that they have. (How to Create a Marketing Plan, 2012). Basically, a marketing plan will be a step by step guide for the company to reach its goals. Companies that are successful tend to start with a great marketing plan. Marketing plans can vary in all different sizes depending on how large or small the company is. When a company creates a marketing plan it is very important for them to get information from all departments of the company. Examples would include finance, manufacturing, supply and several more. When a company gets information from all departments it will allow your marketing plan to include all aspects of the company and not only a few (How to Create a Marketing Plan, 2012).
Marketing Plans: an Example of Success
In 2001 Golden Valley Fire Department had a hard time trying to get together five daytime firefighters to get to a scene after an emergency call. Today, because of the company’s marketing plan they are able to easily put together 15 firefighters within eight minutes of the emergency call. Golden Valley Fire Department would try and hire people through newspaper ads, word of mouth, and even door to door; however that was not working out the best for them so they decided to try something different and get advice from their target audience and create a recruitment plan. They fire department created a demographic based plan with several objectives. One of the objectives included in the plan was to raise awareness. Another objective was to promote

Bajaj Strategy

...owns that is in the mind of the motorcycle consumer? In my view, the word that Honda owns is quality, Hero owns is mileage and the one word Bajaj owns is power, thanks to the Pulsar. If it's Yamaha, that word is style. The one word that TVS owns is cheap (not in a bad sense) but as in the least expensive.  If this is true, then it points to a very high state of evolution in the market place where consumers are able to clearly associate brands with positions. Each of the above-mentioned brands has a clear position.  This has its pros and cons. The pro is that, for instance, if a consumer wants power, other things being equal, he will come to you. So, the brand becomes safer in that sense. It is relatively insulated. The con of that is people who don't seek power won't be really too interested in you-but I think the advantage is greater than the disadvantage.  On Bajaj's position:  We got back into the game with the Pulsar. People buy the Discover because it reminds them of the Pulsar. It's like a younger brother of the Pulsar; or a 'domesticated' Pulsar. There is this clear divide in this market place. Hero has a 71% share in the 100cc segment; I find that, after having a satisfying experience with Hero, consumers move up and they come to us. So, people who want bigger and stronger bikes come to us, but they will not buy a 100cc from us.  | | | On whether Hero MotoCorp will continue to be number one because most consumers want fuel efficiency:  Yes, it will...

Airbus Case Analysis

...AIRBUS CASE ANALYSIS The possibility of an investor surviving a competition depends on the ability to overcome internal and external threats, while at the same time developing a strategy that creates aspects of differentiation, driven by economic logic. The airline industry has been a competitive industry, especially over the last half century. The two main competitors: - the Airbus and Boeing have exhibited a long-term rivalry for the market share. While the two have had a different staging of their businesses, the businesses have faced great challenges, both from within and external threats. Boeing had been the market leader until the later years of the century, when airbus, driven by the zeal and zest of becoming the market leader, experienced an accelerated growth and expansion to dominate the industry. Airbus manufacturing was a response to the increasing U.S dominance in the aircraft production industry. The initiative was launched in 1960s by three European nations, mainly Britain, France and West Germany in order to counter the increasing influence of the United States manufactures in the air transport industry. The investment was a joint product of the three nations in terms of financial input and human resources. Soon after the launch, British pulled off due to self-interests, but joined later by injecting a 20% stake in the manufacturing process. The plant was first based in Paris, France and governed under French law, which did not allow making public the financial...

Project Valuation

...Project Evaluation Corporate Finance 2013-2014 The 14 essays convey many interesting ideas. I am very impressed by some analysis which gives very technical and detailed description. These works have shown that you have great potential to go further, either to a comprehensive report for practical consultancy or to deepen the knowledge for academic research. However, there are some problems that I must mention for your future work. • Lack of theoretical foundations: Some reports just filled the paper with lots of facts, figures and data. The question follows is often “and so what?” The report will be more scientific based if you provide some explanations linking to the theories and interpretations we learned in the class. Present your shining points first: Many reports just give the introduction as a general description of the background of the selected companies. However, a more important part expected in these reports is your research questions and key points of analysis. If you don’t highlight the shining points from the beginning, you make your report less worthy of further reading. Coordination problem: I found some reports give strongly contradict results. I understand that you just share the task among the team members. But at least you must have something complete and logically right. Avoid using abbreviations for words that are less frequently used (eg. ADS, ROI, OTC…). If you insist to use, please write the full words for the first time you employ them. Reference of...
