The PeopleSoft 9.2 release has been visually enhanced with navigational options that include cascading menus, breadcrumb trail and a “recently used” feature.
“My Page” and “My Favorites” have also been updated.
This document is geared for HR staff that use “My Page” to research employee information and verify data.
This document only outlines the changes you will see when you log into PeopleSoft on or after June 3, 2014. All other menus, functions, and access remain unchanged.
(If you are also a Manager, you have access to the “Manage Employees” tab. There is separate training that reviews the changes and enhancements you will see as you work in the new version of PeopleSoft. Comparison view of PeopleSoft: PeopleSoft 8.9 | PeopleSoft 9.2Same options are available to you just a different layout and format: | Cascading Main Menu A cascading Main Menu at the top of the screen is an alternate way to quickly navigate to PeopleSoft pages.(You can still use “My Page” if you prefer.)Click the blue right arrow icon that expands as you make selections to allow you to quickly access links that are several layers down in the navigation. | | You can click on a folder icon (such as Job Information) in the cascading menu to view all of the folder contents in the main display window. | | Breadcrumb Trail Breadcrumbs are located at the top of the screen and indicate where you are in the menu’s navigational path. | | You can also click on a breadcrumb to go back to a previous location in the navigation. For example, you can always click on the Main Menu breadcrumb to return to the main page. Breadcrumbs with a down arrow icon (such as Workforce Administration) are drop-down menus with multiple items to choose from. | | Recently Used The new Recently Used feature is located in the Favorites drop-down menu. It shows the last 5 pages that you visited. Click on a link such as “Modify a Person” to return to that page quickly. | | My Favorites The My Favorites feature is now located in the Favorites drop-down menu under the new Recently Used section. My Favorites was available in the previous version and allows users to set up shortcuts to the pages that they frequently use. | | All previous Favorites that you defined and saved are available in the new PeopleSoft version except for “Job Summary”.Job Summary has been renamed to “Workforce Job Summary”. You will need to recreate this link as a favorite if it is a page that you frequently access. | | Adding a Favorite 1. Navigate to the page to be added as a favorite such as “Workforce Job Summary”. 2. Under the Favorites menu at the top, click the Add to Favorites link. 3. Use the Description provided or enter a name that is more meaningful to you and then click OK. | | Display NameMany pages such as Workforce Job Summary now display the employee’s name with a dash underline.Hover your mouse over the employee’s name and a pop-up will display more personal information about the employee.Grid Expansion/CollapseSome pages are presented with data contained across multiple section tabs like Workforce Job Summary.The Grid expand and collapse icon allows you to see the entire contents of the grid (all data from all tabs) by displaying all columns in a single view.
