It is a very serious issue which can lead to both health and social consequences attributing to the major deficits as an adult. Obesity is an excess of body fat. Body Mass Index is a popular method of defining a healthy weight versus being underweight, overweight or obese. Body Mass Index should be used as a guide, along with waist size, to help estimate the amount of body fat a person has. A Body Mass Index of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight and a Body Mass Index of 30 or above is considered obese. Obesity can shorten your life and put you at risk of developing a number of serious health conditions. These are, but not limited to high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and some forms of cancer. It has also been noted that health risks are higher for youth who are obese, and the risks happens to increase as the degree of obesity increases. Youth who carry extra weight around their waist, rather than in their legs and thighs, are more likely to experience health problems caused by obesity. During my visit to the Metropolitan museum of art, I performed an analysis on the Egyptian sculpture of Isis-Aphrodite, a symbolic goddess in Egyptian culture. The sculpture of Isis-Aphrodite dates to the Roman period. This time period was around the second century A.D. The Metropolitan museum of art purchased the sculpture in 1991. The piece of Isis-Aphrodite is a terracotta figure. It is made of alluvial clay. It is painted with brown, black, red, and pink paint on a white englobe. This rather small delicately painted figurine of Isis gives great gratification to sight upon first glance. It has a height of only 19.5 inches, and a width of approximately 5 inches. It is however, truly astonishing. The sculpture has a narrow expressionless face. She has brown shoulder length hair is fixed with twists like curls, and bangs. Aside from a few elaborate accessories, Isis is nude. Isis wears a large attention grabbing crown on her head, which steals the emphasis from other features. They can be crudely constructed or richly made works of art; they are still objects, however some people treasure their possessions more than anything in the world. These objects can become the driving force behind a person's life and desires. When someone's prized possession is stolen, it may seem as though a disaster has taken place. In The Rape of the Lock, Alexander Pope is commenting on the triviality of a lost possession. Pope blurs the line between people's personalities and their possessions. He creates a world in which people are their commodities and important ideals in society are also transformed into concrete objects that could be stolen from society. Pope opens the poem by invoking a muse, but rather than invoking one of the mythic Greek muses, he leaves the muse anonymous. In the first verse paragraph of Canto I, he introduces his epic subject matters: a war arising from “amorous causes” (1) and “mighty contests rise from trivial things” (2).
