Labels on water bottles

There has been an issue that needs to be addressed concerning the labels on our water bottles. We got a call on how the label on our fresh spring water shows a mountain and says it is fresh water. After reading the fine print they realize that it is not from freshwater spring. They say this is false advertisment.

I am looking at this situation closely and realize that we need to move some things around on the label. We are known for the mountains on our labels and I do want to keep that image. We keep the fresh spring water logo. On the back I think that we should put the facts of how and why we have fresh water. After doing some research I found out that it is ethical for us to show the facts and show that we do have natural spring water. By showing the facts that we have natural spring water we will be confident and stand out against the other companies that look like they are hiding something

Mineral water must not contain less than 250 parts per million of total dissolved solids. It has relative proportions and a consistent level of minerals and trace elements stemming from the moment the fresh water was removed from its source. Spring water is fresh water that comes from an underground formation where water naturally flows to the earth's surface. Purified water is water that has been distilled, deionized, had reverse osmosis or gone through a similar process. It must meet the characterization of purified water by the U.S. Pharmacopoeia in order to be labeled purified water. We can prove this.

Let me know on how you want to proceed with the labeling. Thank you and have a great day.

Advertising

...Short case: Advertising XMGT/216 October 19, 2012 Memo: Senior Management, Recently, our bottled water was contaminated and this could cause serious harm to the future of our company. As an ethical leader, we must decide the best course of action for all of our stakeholders. After analyzing the situation, I believe a recall of the bottled water that has been contaminated would benefit the company long term. Although we have struggled financially because of the strike, false advertising could be detrimental to our company. Our customers depend on us to be honest in our advertising, and although the contamination does not pose a health threat, it does pose the threat of lawsuits for false advertising. Issuing a statement surrounding the events that lead to the contamination should gain the trust of our consumers, which is necessary to protect the financial growth of our company. The recent strike effects how we must deal with the financial burdens of the contamination, but if we do not recall the contaminated water we risk losing customers who depend on us to be ethical in our advertising. Therefore, we should issues a statement to the general public describing our situation and recall the bottled water. In order to protect the financial stability of the company, we should look to make cuts in areas that have the least impact on the company as a whole. The loss of revenue because of the contamination could be relatively small compared to losing...

Code of Ethichz

...Organization Ken Vought XMGT/216 August 2, 2013 Dr.Vera Gill Organization Dear Senior Management, It has been brought to my attention that during the unionized strike one or more employees have sabotaged a machine within the bottling plant. The infraction came from an unknown chemical, which was put into the machine. This has now contaminated 120,000 bottles of our spring water. From what we have found the chemical is very minute and will cause no harm to consumers unless the water is drank in excess. This has caused a huge dilemma for us as a company on the financial end. Recalling 120,000 bottles of natural spring water will be costly as well as desterilizing the machine again. However, we have built our pride and reputation on having pure natural spring water and in my opinion I would say we have to recall the contaminated water no matter how minute the contamination is. If even only one person got sick or suffered a long term illness due to this it could close us down all together. With that being said, I would advise that we get the recall notice out in a rush, and a cleaning crew in to clean that machine and check the others before we resume daily operations of production. I understand this putting us in a financial crunch and may take a while to recover from. The fact is, we sell only pure natural spring water and this is not pure so we cannot sell it or we cannot claim to sell pure water. Not to mention, if there is any risk of someone becoming ill from our...

...| Current Ethical Issue | | XMGT 216 | | 1/15/2012 | | A discussion about organizational ethics and values is as old as organizations themselves. With the magnitude of scandals that has come to surface over the years about unethical behaviors of corporate leadership, it is important that companies excel in achieving values-based organizations and leadership, as well as ethical codes of conduct. The Kudler Fine Foods is type of market that can offer people many different things. Things such as gourmet breads, cheeses, and of course their wine. Though as any other small business they also have their ups and downs too. Things that have to do with the economy and even ethically. The Kudler Fine Foods is transforming its produce to carry organically grown produce. Kudler Fine Foods is an upscale specialty food store located in San Diego, California that was created by Kathy Kudler. What started out as a small endeavor has grown into three stores throughout the San Diego metropolitan area.
