“Tu único amigo es el dinero en tu bolsillo” is an aphorism which translates in english as, “Your only friend is the money in your wallet”. I first heard this aphorism by my grandmother. When I was ten years old I had a best friend who would come to my house almost everyday. We started realizing some of our things would go missing after she would come over. Despite my grandmother warning me to be careful with her, I didn't want to believe someone I called my “best friend’ would do such a thing as steal from me. One day after school she invited me to her house, this would be the my first time ever going to her house. Once I got to her room I quickly realized some of my belongings there.
