...I chose my first event, when I was born because well, it’s an obvious one. It was the start of my life, what lead me to all the other events on the timeline. The second one, my first birthday was my first birthday ever. The first one is a special one because I will and already did have many birthdays after that. My third event, when I started pre-school, it was the start of my school days. Each year after that until I’m 18, I would have to be in school. It was the beginning of something big. For the fourth one, when I went into elementary school, it was just the start of something new. I was in there for 6 years of my life. I picked my fifth event, my 7th birthday because it was my biggest party ever. It was at at Boomers and celebrated with many people. My next event, First Communion is definitely an important event. In my religion, I receive Jesus in me through the holy bread. The seventh event, I won 1st place in my elementary school in a poetry contest for Buono’s Pizzeria. I was very shocked, but also happy. I never thought I would win it. For my eighth event, it was when I turned 10. I was finally a double digit. My most memorable one today, is my ninth one, the day I entered Mary Butler Middle School. I have learned so much and am still experiencing it today. The most recent one is of course, the tenth one, the day I got my first very own dog. I have been wanting one for so long and finally got one. She is a Maltese/mix and is named Raquelle. The event that represents...

I expect you to prepare and practice this together as a team. Remember: bring to class on Friday morning, November 2nd: Your copies of both business plans (the one I give you and the one you have photocopied from the Business Plans Handbook). ...No Child Left Behind | A government attempt to fix American Education | Erica Cowan | Abstract Despite the vast majority of Americans that are educated though public school systems very successfully, many student of minority or low-income backgrounds have been “left behind.” The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), was the Bush administration’s attempt to help ensure that every public school student had a right to a solid education. A main goal was to have every school achieve higher scores on standardized testing each year and eventually by 2014 every student should score proficiently on their tests. Funding for NCLB was supposed to cover all the added costs that the schools would occur, but the funding ran out and schools are running out of resources to help their students. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 was created to ensure that all student were given a fair opportunity to receive a good education from the public school systems. Before 2001, there was a large performance gap between students with a higher economic advantage and those students with less wealth. There was also a pattern of minority groups achieving less than white students in specific areas of school. “‘[W]e understand now that there are some basic tools that have to be put in place so that we give those children who are among the most disadvantaged in our country, who go to school in some of the poorer schools that they, in fact, get a very real opportunity in education,’ Rep. George Miller of California...

...Strategic Analysis of Nestlé and its Competitor Kraft Foods Course: International Business Strategy (IB BA) Professor Lewis University of Applied Sciences Dresden Project Members: Katerina Schneiderova Sandra Merkel Nicole Klötzer Carolin Wiese Samuel Weimer Nicole Schröder Date: 11th June 2010 Executive Summary In the following, two companies and their strategic positions within the coffee consumer goods industry will be described. The focus lies on Nestlé and its competitor Kraft Foods. As coffee is one of the most popular products worldwide, this is a very demanding business. It is necessary to provide high quality products, especially when working in the more affluent segments like Nestlé and Kraft Food do. Several political, economic, social, technical, environmental and legal aspects have an impact on the industry branch they are operating in. In addition, there is not only a differentiation in Robusta and Arabica coffee, but also in filter coffee, portioned and non-portioned soluble coffee. To satisfy the diverging needs of all customers, different strategies are applied to gain more market share. In this report it is examined how those companies operate in the specific business context, what they have in common and where they differ. Furthermore, an analysis of the industry attractiveness, of the market segmentation and value chain and an overview of resources and capabilities are part of this paper. After intense research...
