Like any other state in the U.S. Florida has its own specific code of ethics which are 6A-10.080is the Codes and 6A-10.081 are the Principles. Being a in the state of Florida you are expected and required to follow all codes and principles. This is to insure that as an educator you will not get into any trouble by violating your Principles of Professional conduct for Education. Of course, they’re many responsibilities involved, to your students, the public, and to the profession. By breaking any of these rules one can have their Teacher License revoked and will not be allowed to teach in the state of Florida or they could face punishment by the law enforcement. In this paper you will see three cases that show ethics violations. Even though, these cases did not take place in the state of Florida they are great examples on how teachers violated their ethical principles.

In the case of “Jersey City music teacher guilty of aggravated sexual assault on 8-year-old student,” Henry Granderson a 63 year old man was charged with sexually assaulting an 8 year old student over a course of 2 year span. Granderson also known by the name Muhammad Bilal was a violin teacher who operated out of his home who was convicted between January 1, 2011 and January 4, 2013. Per the victim, “Granderson sexually assaulted her every time she went to his home for piano lessons over the two-year span. She sometimes took lessons more than once a week. She said that Granderson also gave her money and food after abusing her. There was also testimony that he gave her a violin as a gift. (Conte, 2015) ” On September 28, 2015 Garnderson was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Then I saw you with her Didn’t think you’d find another And my world just seemed to crash Shouldn’t have thought this would last And maybe that was the Biggest mistake of my life And maybe I haven’t move on since that night Chorus: Cause it’s 12:51 And I thought my feelings were gone But I’m lying on my bed Thinking of you again And the moon shines so bright, But I gotta dry these tears tonight Cause you’re moving on and I’m not That strong to hold on any longer As the sky outside gets brighter And my eyes begin to tire I’m slowly drowning In memories of him And I know it shouldn’t matter As my heart begins to shatter I’m left to wonder Just how it should have been..yeah… Chorus: Cause it’s 12:51 And I thought my feeling swere gone But I’m lying on my bed I’m not Thinking of you again And...

Old Nation Film Analysis

...to ones ethics and values and the blacks are incredibly belligerent. 12 Years a Slave also shows the violence between the races, but the conflict could better be described as a battle between the oppressed and their oppressor. The slaves are shown as human beings who pray and worship a Christian god, truly benign souls. Yet the slavers whip and beat them to keep their morale low. The slaves in this movie may best be described as showing meek qualities, quick to help one another but seldom speak against their own persecution at the hands of the planters. Gone With the Wind takes a much different approach. The violence which occurs is war violence which is ideologically based, race is never a factor. The slaves in this film stand with their owners in an almost familial way, all southerners looking after eachother regardless of...

Nonfiction Reaction Paper

...Nonfiction Reaction Paper ENG/125 Nonfiction Reaction Paper The nonfiction stories I have decided to write about are; “Who Will Light the Incense When Mother’s Gone?” by Andrew Lam and “Salvation” by Langston Hughes. Both of these stories are about a significant event in the authors lives in which they choose to write about. “Salvation” is a story about the author trying to find his way into the church and finally see the light or Jesus so his soul will be saved and his sins forgiven. ; “Who Will Light the Incense When Mother’s Gone?” was a writing about his mother having a hard time with the American culture and how her son, the author Andrew Lam, will be when he leaves home and how the traditions she raised him on slowly will disappear along with her when she passes along. Both stories seem to send a message of events in the author’s lives where they wrote about them because of certain memories in their lives, and I will briefly go through each story in different ways. Summary of Strategies by the Authors I think Langston Hughes in “Salvation” tries to get the reader to imagine a hot sweltering church on a balmy Sunday morning. This would be the setting for the young boy at 12 years of age trying to see Jesus in another aspect because he is becoming of age for the church. The authors strategy is not to confuse the reader but to make the reader understand that Langston was not lying about seeing Jesus but in fact did not believe in Jesus because he left the boy...

...The mother of a toddler who disappeared from a Washington state bowling alley more than 12 years ago is hoping renewed interest in the case will result in new leads. "I have been through hell in the years since she has been gone," Theresa Lewis told AOL News. "My daughter vanished out of thin air and nobody knows anything. All I want is closure. I need to know what happened to my daughter." Two-year-old Teekah Lewis was last seen at about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 23, 1999. Lewis said she had taken her daughter with her to New Frontier Lanes on South Center Street in Tacoma. There, Lewis, along with some family and friends, rented lanes 7 and 8 in the 32-lane bowling complex. missingkids.com Images from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children show a photo of Teekah Lewis at around the age of 2 and an age-progressed image of Teekah as she might look at the age of 12. A friendly competition began, but Lewis said she kept her eye on her daughter -- who was playing at the wheel of a race car video game some 10 feet away -- for all but a single moment, when she turned to watch her brother bowl. "I turned around for a second and Teekah was gone," Lewis said. "There was no sign of her." Family and friends launched an immediate search for the 3-foot-tall, brown-eyed, pony-tailed girl who was dressed in a green Tweety Bird sweatshirt, but were unable to locate any sign of her. Frantic, they notified an off-duty police officer who was working at the bowling lanes...

GROSS PROFIT MARGINS – Have gradually gone down for Primo Berzine over the years from 2006 to 2009. When compared to the competitors the margins are slightly worse than the industry. 2. RETURN ON SALES – Values have gone down for the company over the years, and compared to the industry also, the company seems to be not doing well. 3. RETURN ON INVESTED CAPITAL - Values have gone down for the company over the years, and compared to the industry also, the company seems to be providing poor returns on invested capital(both equity and debt) as compared to the industry. 4. RETURN ON ASSETS – Ratio improved a bit, but slid down in the year 2009. When compared to the industry, this ratio is again directs us towards a very pessimistic conclusion about the prospects of the company. 5. RETURN ON EQUITY – When seen over the years, the company has done well in improving its ratio but the 2009 values are no better than that of any of the...

Add/Adhd: a Proposal

...Chris Phillips Professor Daniel Wesley English Composition II 1302-062 10 December 2012 ADD/ADHD: A Proposal I’m hesitant to write about ADD/ADHD. It just seems like two-faced ground. Judging by the comments I’ve read online, in magazines, and my own experience, expressing an opinion about this identification or anything dealing in child psychiatry will be met with censure from both sides. I was reading an article “Ritalin Gone Wild” in the New York Times, and I felt obliged to write. If you have not read “Ritalin Gone Wild”, I persuade you to do so. In my opinion, I agree with the article except for the mention about “children born into poverty therefore [being] more vulnerable to behavior problems”. Unsurprisingly, the article has fascinated many online detectors. Let us check out this response from the NYT, accusing Dr Sroufe for “blaming parents” for ADD/ADHD. When I read the original article, Dr Sroufe did not do that. Instead, he noted that ADD/ADHD symptoms may not or at all come from a congenital neurological defect or “chemical imbalance”, but that ecological influences may be more significant. He also says that, ADD/ADHD drugs do work; children and adults do perform better on meds, but the successes do fail over time, perhaps a drug answer does not change ecological situation in the first place. I could not agree more. I think this statement is true for much of what is treated in psychiatry; it is predominantly related to children and adolescents. Children...

How Was Abraham Lincoln's Assassination Justified

...sound like thunder ripped through the theater. It took a few seconds when suddenly a scream sounded from the President’s box and then "The president is shot!" In those few seconds of mayhem the course of history changed forever. A single shot that rocked our nation. There were many ways this event could have been prevented. What was this catastrophic event? The assassination of Abraham Lincoln. It was April 14, 1865, just five days after Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House, ending the Civil War. Abraham Lincoln had worked four years to keep the country together during America's bloodiest war. For months President Lincoln had suffered from the depression...

...time is to procreate. Finally, in Sonnet seventy-three an old man is reflecting on his past life and telling it to a younger man, hoping the young man will understand how quick life goes. The poems all start off with the speakers explaining what they have seen or have been through over their lives. The beginnings to the poems are very emotional and serious. They all use interesting word choice to describe how quick time has gone by. Sonnet twelve begins “When I do count the clock that tells the time, / And see the brave day suck in hideous night (Shakespeare, 1-2).” The word clock was used to explain how the speaker has watched time pass and night fall as his life has gone by so quickly. Sonnet seventy-three begins “ That time of year thou mayst in me behold / When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang (Shakespeare, 1-2).” The words behold and hand describe that the speaker is describing his life like the season autumn. The speaker also explains that the yellow leaves hanging are like the stages of his life slowly going by. Each leaf falling, is like a year of the his life going by and sooner or later there will be no leaves meaning his life has come to an end. Sonnet sixty-four begins “ When I have seen by Time’s fell hand defaced / The rich proud cost of outworn buried age (Shakespeare, 1-2).” The words seen, fell, and...

Heros

...that are by far no place like home. When they deploy they can be gone anywhere from 1year to 18 months, sometimes with back to back deployments. They sacrifice many things for people they do not even know. They do it without even being asked. They make others’ lives more important than their own. They stand for everything and ask for nothing in return. They sacrifice things that no one else would, from the smallest things like a dry bed or food to the ultimate sacrifice of laying down their life for man to have the freedoms they have now. Our military members are heroes because of the time and effort they put in with their deployments, sacrifices, dedication, and for our freedom. Military members whether they are Army, Air force, Navy, Marines, or Coast Guard, have a good chance to deploy at some point in their career. Before nine –eleven (9-11) deployments were not likely depending on what period of time they served. Now, after nine eleven (9-11) it is pretty much guaranteed that military personnel will be deployed somewhere. During World War II, soldiers were deployed over to Europe and Asia and never knew when they would return home. Returning home depended on the point system and some soldiers who were in the country from day one and jumped in on D-day would not ever get enough points. This had many soldiers in country for two to three years or longer at a time. Vietnam soldiers would be deployed for a year or longer. In Libya there were soldiers who went...

...The Thai rice mortgage scheme continues to receive a fair amount of media bashing even after completing its one-year anniversary on 7 October 2012. The debate on its impacts on Thailand and the rest of the world continues to take center stage at a majority of rice conferences in the region. The media and rice gurus have all ganged up on this scheme because nobody expected this from Thailand. This is the country that remained open for business during the 2007 rice crisis when India and Vietnam banned exports and provided some stability to a market that was chaotic and getting out of control. Despite all the negative publicity and criticism, Thai policymakers remain unruffled and publicly vow to continue with the program. Questions come to mind: Is this the only country with such a program? Does it really create so much uncertainty in the global rice market? To answer the first question, let me say that Thailand is not the only country with a price support program. As a matter of fact, most of the rice-growing countries in Asia have some form of price support program for farmers. These have different names and somewhat different operational mechanisms but all of them are designed to provide a guaranteed floor price for farmers. The only difference is that some countries religiously implement these programs and procure all the rice offered by farmers at the announced support price whereas others procure only the amount needed for a strategic reserve. The critical aspect of these...

Argumentative Essay On Gun Control In The United States

...that isn't as bad as you may think. American citizens are being put under the false impression that gun homicide rates have gone up in recent years in order to make the situation seem more dire, when in fact the opposite is true. You may have heard about how 32,000 American citizens die every year due to firearms, but what you may not realize is that more than two thirds of the deaths are caused by suicide. This crucial detail is usually glossed over in reports, leaving most citizens unaware. As psychiatry professor Liza Gold explains, "Culturally and historically, suicide has always come with a high level of shame and embarrassment. People don’t want that associated with their families, so when suicides do occur, they don’t list the cause of death or they don’t count suicide as the cause of death." Furthermore, another fact most crowds are unaware of is that the level of gun violence has gone down significantly since the 1990's, with the NPR citing the Pew Research study. Since 1993, gun violence has decreased by 49%. Despite this, another study from Pew Research shows that American citizens are mislead on the situation. In the survey done in 2013, 56% of Americans believed that the number of gun crimes has gone up in the last 20 years, 26% believed that the rates had stayed the same, and a measly 12% correctly knew that the number of gun murders have gone down. These statistics show that gun control should not be as urgent a request, and the skewed view of the masses and media...
