Attempting an overview from the years when ChLT was much ignored in the academic and non-academic world to the years that attention is paid to ChLT as a scientific field in its own right, the present paper illustrates issues that have generated intense and ongoing discussions. Issues such as the missionary role of ChLT, the theoretical framework of ChLT, the translator‟s invisibility, low status, profile and royalties, translatability vs. untranslatability, ideology, censorship, manipulation, and ambivalence are visited in this paper. This coupling allows to determine the significance of the input parameters on the accelerated corrosion rate. First preliminary calculations show that uncertainty in the soil resistivity and the train power consumption contribute most in the uncertainty in the maximum interference current density. SCOTT This article examines the extent to which consumers engage in more indulgent consumption when they are exposed to whimsically cute products and explores the process by which such products affect indulgence. Prior research on kindchenschema (baby schema) has found that exposure to cute babies or baby animals leads to more careful behavior (see the study by Sherman, Haidt, and Coan), suggesting restraint. The present research uncovers the opposite: consumers become more indulgent in their behavior after exposure to whimsically cute products. Drawing from research on cognitive priming, kindchenschema, anthropomorphization, indulgence, and regulatory focus, this research posits that exposure to whimsically cute products primes mental representations of fun, increasing consumers’ focus on approaching self-rewards and making consumers more likely to choose indulgent options. These effects do not emerge for kindchenschema cute stimuli, since they prime mental representations of vulnerability and caretaking. Four empirical studies provide evidence for the proposed effects and their underlying process. ...I saw the movie, “The Man in the Iron Mask” but I didn’t like that it much. I think if you have some time and you want to waste it then watch this movie. There are various slight references to the political situation here, from the notion of the divine rule of Kings and the arrogance that stems from maintaining such a notion to distinctions of class, but unfortunately none of it is explored. The main reason the Musketeers rebel against the King is because Athos' son Raoul dies after being sent to the front to fight at Louis' orders. Aramis concocts a plan to de-throne King Louis, by replacing him with a doppelganger. This involves rescuing the prisoner in the iron mask, Louis' Twin Philippe, who was imprisoned so he could not be a threat to Louis' power. This sets up a conflict between D'Artagnan and the three Musketeers, the Queen Mother, and Louis himself as he finds his loyalties divided. This is the most interesting aspect of the movie, but it comes too late. DiCaprio presents a mixed performances in his "double acting" roles as Louis and Philippe. While the change of character is convincing (especially when Philippe's mask is removed), I think it could've been done better. The problem with DiCaprio, more than the acting, is in the delivery of the dialogue, the same problem which plagued him in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet. The show is stolen by the actors playing the Musketeer characters, Irons, Depardieu, Malkovich, and Byrne. The mixing of accents (American, British...
