The Nineteenth Amendment- XIX Women’s Suffrage

The nineteenth amendment gave women the right to vote, right to work, right for more job opportunities, and more respect. This amendment was then ratified on the date August 18th, 1920. In order to get this amendment eventually passed women went through a long and hard struggle also known as the women’s suffrage movement.

American society needed the nineteenth amendment because if fellow Americans didn’t have the nineteenth amendment women would have the same rights that men have today. For example women wouldn’t have the right to vote, or have the same opportunity to qualify or get certain jobs. Women got the progress they deserved because women wouldn’t have the same rights or opportunities
