...METHODOLOGY OF TRAIL/TEST RUN 1. Initially inspected the vehicle in front of the manufacturer in their approved service station for finding any alterations/modification and found that this vehicle (TN 37 BH 3223) has no modification and is similar to the other cars supplied by the manufacturer. 2. Being less than 6 months and hardly run 8,000 Km, initial requirement of calibration was not recommended as the trail has been planned to conduct in the place where distance is already known. 3. The vehicle has been taken to the nearest petrol bunk and toped up to a level (full tank) and market the lower and upper meniscus of the fuel position in the tank. Also marked the position of four wheels. 4. Properly sealed the fuel tank and noted the reading in odometer (7795 km) also reset the trip meter A reading to zero. 5. Driven up and down in NH 47,(Coimbatore – Avinashi Bye Pass road) and back to the bunk again. 6. Positioned the vehicle in same position as earlier and noted done the reading in both odometer and trip meter (7868 km & 73.2 km respectively). ...presentation. Then, a few of the students read the monologues of several black historical figures, including Jackie Robinson, Ruby Bridges, Maya Angelou, and Langston Hughes. After the monologues, the choir sang, “I’ll Make the Difference,” followed by some of the students reading about the lives of several famous African American figures and dressing as the African American figures in a “Live Wax Museum.” Once the “Live Wax Museum” was completed, 8th grade cheerleaders cheered and danced to a few cheers. Lastly, the choir sang “Rise Up” to conclude the program to honor their African American heritage. Analyze Make 3 connections between what you observed and current research findings that you learned in our class (Middle Level Education - EDE 3223). Remember - by definition a “connection” connects two “things”; in this case, one of the “things” occurs in the field experience observation and the other “thing” occurred on campus in our course. You MUST connect what you observe to what you learned in class and from your text on development, diversity, and the social context of middle school students. Go beyond just physical development!! (About 200-250 words across all 3 connections) Connection 1 My first connection I made between the Black History Month Program and the material covered in class was the importance of the acceptance of cultures in a school. Because culture “refers to specific shared values, beliefs, and attitudes” (Powell, pg. 63), it is necessary for teachers and students...

...Online Gambling The article I read is called ‘This House Would Ban Online Gambling’ by Alastair Endersby and Alex Helling. As the title implies, it gives both sides of the argument that online gambling should be banned in the United States. Here is a brief summary of the article: There are different forms of gambling. Some are pure chance such as lotteries and slot machines. Others have some measure of skill involved in them such as poker or sports betting. Different governments around the world have varying laws governing online gambling, but in the U.S. it is illegal-except in some states such as New Jersey. Internet gambling has risen since the 1990’s and made it harder for the government to control however. People just use sites based in a country where gambling is legal. There are many arguments for banning online gambling. Problem gambling causes many personal issues such as problems with relationships, missing work, and bankruptcy. It can also have many health problems associated with it such as insomnia, depression, and moodiness (Griffiths, 2003). Internet gambling allows users to gamble in their home. The inconvenience of traveling to a casino or racetrack is gone as well as being able to do it at any time. This takes away many barriers for problem gamblers making it easier to get into trouble (Hedwig, 2010). Organized crime also uses online gambling to launder money made by other illegal means such as prostitution and drugs making it harder for law enforcement...

...Benefits of Achieving a BSN Degree This paper was difficult for me to start as I know many ADN who are very knowledgeable in their profession. Several of my floor’s resource or charge nurses are associate degree nurses, who are also certified to our floor. So, being fairly new to their nursing field, it is hard to imagine that my BSN degree will make me more competent than those that are heading our floor nurses. I had spoken with my manager about my concerns. After our talk, she promised that with time comes experience. Also, that completing a four year degree will not only advance me educationally and give me more insight to the nursing profession, but help me to develop understanding of situations quicker and take a role to lead the team to success. Leadership seems to be an important difference between the ADN versus BSN. The two year nursing program is learning the basics. We covered the material needed to be successful floor nurses, but honestly, we never were taught how to be leaders. I like to be a leader, to demonstrate skills, and help educate others. How successful will I be at that if I have never been properly trained? This thought was one important reason I decided to continue my education. I want to be as successful as I can be, and I feel only having an associate degree is short changing myself, when I have the potential to become more. Something I was told before I ever attended college is that one thing that cannot be taken away from you is...

...Rachel D'Amaral Business 101 Mr. Snyder November 30, 2014 Studying small business management has taught me several different business strategies and techniques to be successful in my business. In chapter eleven in the book discusses marketing this was an insightful chapter as I have not taken a marketing course yet in my study. Getting introduced to marketing helped me understand some of the processes of marketing that my business would use in the future. As a small business owner I would be responsible for all marketing activities distributing, pricing, and promoting of goods, services and ideas. Being a small business owner of a clothing boutique would also make me responsible for buying, selling, transporting, storing, grading, marketing research and risk taking. The first activity of buying, is knowing what to buy. I plan to target a clientele of young teenage girls to middle aged women. There are several market places I can shop at in different states, the closest to where I plan to set up shop in the lowcountry would be a market in Atlanta Georgia. This type of market is built around the business of small business owners with boutiques and is a whole sale warehouse if you will where store owners can go and hand select the merchandise they want to put in their stores. They often hold fashions show for the owners to view the upcoming seasonal trends and show owners what is projected to be trending in the future seasons. Once I have bought the merchandise the next...

...Zip Car Case Analysis As the Springboard 2000 New England Venture forum was approach quickly, Chase needed to develop an effective business plan to present to the conference. My Recommendations for Chase are: 1. Refine Zipcar’s business model based on real U.S. market data, and use the real U.S. market date to construct a new pricing structure: eliminate the daily maximum rate, and double the per mile and per hour rate. 2. Maintain 40% car utilization. 3. Find a right person to join their management team. 4. Refine and complete Zipcar’s technology platform. 5. Secure good parking locations as its competitive advantage. Originally, since Chase was inspired by the car sharing business in Europe, the assumptions and financial plans were using the data from European market. However, due to the differences in consumer behaviors and market conditions, those assumptions were not accurate and cannot be directly applied to the U.S. markets. On June 22, 2000, Zipcar put its first three cars on street, which tested the market and gave real market data for Zipcar to use. With these data, we can see the difference between the original assumptions and reality: First of all, the attrition is much lower than expected. Chase was expecting a 15% attrition rate, however, the real attrition was less than 1.3%. (Table 1) This low attrition shows customers are buying in this business idea and majority of the customers are willing to continue using this service. In addition, the trip per user per...

...While generations of scientists have debated whether human aggression and violence is learned or innate, Brain (pp. 9, 1985) most likely summarizes the best and shortest answer to this question by stating that Human violence is too complicated to be interpreted in simple terms”. Empirical data and theories from both sides will be presented in this essay which will illustrate that while humans are genetically equipped to be violent and in some cases even have a genetic predisposition towards violence, social factors play key role in facilitating and enhancing aggressive behavior or suppressing and inhibiting it. Cesar Lombroso in the 20th century claimed that long arms, jutting chins and sloping foreheads were signs of born criminals, while Sigmund Freud (1930) later claimed that the drive to aggress is rooted deep in the psyche, independent of circumstances and as a result people have an innate need to inflict harm which must be satisfied periodically. A similar catharsis view was held by Lorenz (1963) who suggested that aggression being a natural instinct that accumulates over time especially in response to environmental stress, needs to be periodically released much like the periodic orgasm that helps diminish sex drive. In the 1960’s some scientists proposed that men who carried an XYY chromosome pattern were predisposed to become criminals (Ramirez, 1996). These were some of the early views on the innate nature of aggression and violence. Recent studies conducted on rats...
