In 1992 they opened Disneyland Resort Paris, which is widely considered much less successful than the park in Japan. This case examines efforts to his third Disney park outside the United States to open in Hong Kong Disneyland. It begins with the discussion on the experience of Paris and Tokyo Disneyland, and then discusses the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland, including the structure of the deal, and how the operations, human resources management and marketing were designed to fit the Chinese cultural environment. ...Activity 1.1.4 Pulley Drives and Sprockets | | Introduction Pulleys and sprockets achieve the same tasks as gears by transferring power through rotary motion. Depending on how pulleys and sprockets are applied, speed, direction, and torque can be modified within the system. Pulleys and sprockets are both used in everyday machines ranging from industrial applications to moving printer heads within a desktop printer. Typically, belts and pulleys are easier to manufacture, lighter weight, and less expensive to purchase than sprockets and chains. Although chains and sprockets are more difficult to manufacture and often noisier, they have the advantage of not slipping as easily and tend to be more durable than a belt and pulley system. Procedure In this activity you will learn about belt and pulley systems and sprocket and chain systems. You will calculate ratios of examples of both systems in a lab environment. Belt and Pulley Systems A driver pulley (input) powers one or more driven pulleys (output). The pulleys are connected by belts. The ratios are based on the relationship between the different pulleys. As shown in Figure 1, pulleys manipulate torque and speed. | | Figure 1 The ratios of belt and pulley systems are the same as for gears. The exception is that there are no teeth on a pulley to count, so you must rely on the diameter of each pulley. It is common for multiple pulleys to be used with a single belt as seen in Figure 2. Figure 2 ...

...HOW TO WRITE A RESUME Your resume is an important document, which a potential interviewer will use to make their first assessment of you. The information and template below will help you produce a resume that is easy to read and packed with facts. Contact details Add your contact details at the top of the page. Include name, address, phone number, mobile and email. Make sure your name and contact details are on each page just in case the pages get separated after being printed out in hard copy. Only use professional-sounding email addresses. An email address like drunk-n-drunker@ may give the wrong impression. Birth date and marital status You are not obliged to include either your birth date or marital status – it’s up to you. Lay out There are many layout styles; our advice is to keep it simple. Pick a font style that is easy to read – not too flowery or ornate. Bold for headings are easy to read. Use dot points if you want, but just the one type. The content of the resume is the most important thing. Summarising your strengths You can do this two ways, either list your “Key Strengths” in dot points or include a section under a heading like “Career Profile”. Key Strengths Use dot points to highlight your key strengths. The aim of the section is to give the person reading your resume a quick snapshot of what you have to offer. For example: • High level computer skills including Excel, Word and Powerpoint. • Five years experience in...

...------------------------------------------------- MTA Announces Proposals for Fare Increases The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has unveiled proposals that would increase fares and tolls to raise additional, vitally needed revenue to support the New York region's transportation system. The increases come during an era of successful and unprecedented MTA management actions to cut controllable expenses. In fact, the MTA will spend less in 2012 on its controllable costs than it did in 2011. Year-over-year controllable costs are lower by 0.3%. "Costs that the MTA does not exercise control over, namely those for debt service, pensions, energy, paratransit, and employee and retiree health care, continue to increase beyond the rate of inflation," said MTA Chairman and CEO Joseph J. Lhota. "We are grappling with long-term measures to reduce these frustrating and difficult non-discretionary expenses, but today, they are the drivers of the need for a fare and toll increase." The fare and toll proposals will be the subject of a geographically diverse, multi-platform public review process that starts today and lasts through mid-December. The proposals will be subject to modification after the public review process and will be considered for adoption by the MTA Board at its December 19 meeting. The new fare and toll rates would go into effect on or about March 1, 2013. "The public will have significant input into our decision-making process. In the spirit of transparency...

...September 13, 2013 Mr. Homebuyer Prospect 144 Legal Lane Partnership, USA 3333 Dear Previous Customer: It has been quite some time since we last spoke. I wanted to catch up and give you an update as to what is happening within the world of real estate and mortgages. Certainly a lot has happened nationally since I last financed your home. We have gone through a real estate boom and a recession and home prices have fallen from their peaks a few years ago. The recession has provided pain for many Americans. It also has provided opportunities for many others. With regard to real estate, lower home prices have translated into bargains. Many investors are purchasing foreclosures and other distressed properties. Others are taking the opportunity of the lowest rates in history to refinance. I have refinanced many previous clients who have achieved hundreds of dollars in monthly savings and others who have moved into 15-year mortgages. With homes not appreciating as they were, building up equity through prepayment is a very popular objective today. Some have lowered their rate enough that they have been able to move to a 15-year schedule without increasing their payment! I would like to schedule a phone call with you to get an update as to what is happening in your life and financial situation. I may be able to give you an idea of what values are in your neighborhood and how your present credit score can be improved to further your future financial prospects. Please...
