...Section 9-1 1. Identify each type of filter response in Figure 9-32. A)Band-pass B)High-pass C)Low-pass D)Band-stop 2. A certain low-pass filter has a critical frequency of 800 Hz. What is its bandwidth? For this low-pass filter with fc of 800 Hz, the bandwidth is 800Hz. 3. A single-pole high-pass filter has a frequency-selective network with R=2.2 kΩ and C=0.0015µF. What is the critical frequency? fc=1/2πRC=1/(2π(2200Ω)(.0000000015F))= 48.2kHz Can you determine the bandwidth from the available information? No. 4. What is the roll-off rate of the filter described in Problem 3? As a single-pole filter it has a roll-off rate of -20 dB\decade. 5. What is the bandwidth of a band-pass filter whose critical frequencies are 3.2 kHz and 3.9 kHz? BW=fc2-fc1=3.9kHz-3.2kHz=700Hz What is the Q of this filter? Q=fo/BW= √fc1fc2/700Hz= √(3.2×3.9)/700=5.05 6. What is the center frequency of a filter with a Q of 15 and a bandwidth of 1 kHz? Q=fo/BW 15= fo/1kHz=15kHz Section 9-2 7. ...Presenter: Robin Baweja MD PGY-3 Topic: Care of the Premature Infant Date: March 2, 2010 Introduction: Prematurity is defined as birth that occurs before 37 completed weeks of gestation. It is associated with 1/3 of all infant deaths in the US. Associated with diseases such as CP, vision impairment and hearing impairment. Complications of prematurity are the underlying reasons for the higher rate of infant mortality and morbidity. There are both short-term complications and long-term sequelae in patients that survive and are discharged from the NICU Key Definitions of Premature Infants: Defined as GA or weight Late Preterm Birth – GA between 34 and less than 37 weeks Very Preterm Birth – GA less than 32 weeks Extremely Preterm Birth – GA at or below 25 weeks Low Birth Weight – BW less than 2500 grams Very Low Birth Weight – BW less than 1500 grams Extremely Low Birth Weight – BW less than 1000 grams Short term complications of Prematurity: NICU based Respiratory Distress PDA Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia Late Onset Sepsis Grade III – IV Intraventricular Hemorrhage Necrotizing Enterocolitis Periventricular Leukomalacia ROP Long Term Complications of Prematurity: Outpatient Based Neurodevelopmental Disabilities – impaired cognitive skills, motor deficits, sensory impairments, vision and hearing losses, behavioral problems. ...The Sustainability of BWS under Philippine Laws (A Position Paper) The case of People v. Genosa in 2004 was a landmark case that allowed for the Philippine laws to recognize a kind of self-defense that is exclusively for women. The recognition of Battered Women Syndrome (BWS) was not only considered a triumph for Women and Children’s Rights advocates but it was also an implied recognition of the insufficiency of laws protecting the rights of women and children in the country by the highest court of the land. Thus, three months after the promulgation of the People v. Genosa Decision, Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act (AVAWC) was enacted. I. The Status of Women Experiencing Violence in the Philippines Abuse of women in the Philippines is not a new issue. Reports of violence against women have consistently been present in data gathered by concerned agencies and advocate groups. In 2008, the Philippine National Police reported 6, 905 and in 2009, a total of 9, 485 cases of violence against women respectively. Table 1. ...Engineering AV, 30 higher education credits Tools for Business Intelligence A comparison between Cognos 8 BI, Microsoft BI and SAP BW/NetWeaver Katarina Lundqvist Abstract 2010-03-17 Tools for Business Intelligence A comparison between Cognos 8 BI, Microsoft BI and SAP BW/NetWeaver Katarina Lundqvist Abstract The aim of the thesis was to conduct a general study of Business Intelligence and BI systems followed by a comparison of Cognos 8 BI, Microsoft BI and SAP BW/NetWeaver. The goal was to distinguish similarities and differences between the tools regarding technique, cost, usability and educational need and to provide a mapping for different customer situations. The method consisted of a theoretical study followed by a practical part including development, testing and interviews. The comparison showed that SAP and Microsoft both use the client/server model while Cognos is an integrated web-based system built on SOA. SQL Server can only be installed on Windows while BW and Cognos also support UNIX, Linux and IBM. SSRS report formats are HTML, PDF, CSV, XML, TIFF, Word and Excel. In BW, query results can be viewed as HTML, CSV and Excel. Cognos report formats are HTML, PDF, CSV, XML and Excel. The educational need for SQL Server and Cognos is low and may often be solved internally or through e-learning. In contrast, BW uses its own terminology and the enhanced star schema,...

Increasing Profits by Opening the Books Financial transparency and giving workers at all levels a direct stake in a company's success can help boost efficiency and earnings, says Jody Heymann By Jody Heymann Open Source Software Open Innovation Open Government E-Book Readers All 213 employees at Great Little Box know exactly how profitable the business is. Executives at the Canadian packaging manufacturer discuss the company's finances, production, and sales performance in detail at monthly meetings with staff that ranges from machine operators on the factory floor to senior managers. Such open-book management is tied to the company's profit-sharing strategy: 15 percent of pretax earnings are split equally among everyone at Great Little Box. The company started profit sharing in 1991 because they believed employees would work harder if they felt "they matter and their work matters," says Margaret Meggy, who co-founded the company with her husband and now serves as its human resources chief. She's right. Our research shows that sharing financial information and profits with low-skilled workers helps boost both efficiency and profits. Yet while sharing profits and financial data with top managers is common, it is rare at the bottom...

Essentially, the torsional resistance of the beam is required for equilibrium to be satisfied. On the contrary, if beam A1-B1 in Fig. P7-3 did not resist torsion, the beam would rotate only slightly before the floor’s weight and superimposed loads would be redistributed to other elements, thereby satisfying equilibrium through the redundancy of the system. The torsion in A1B1 only arises from the need to maintain compatibility of deformations between the ends of the joists and the twisting of the edge beam. 7-3 The two parts of this problem refer to the floor plan shown in Fig. P7-3. Assume that the entire floor system is constructed with normal-weight concrete that has a compressive strength, f’c = 4,500 psi. Also...

Furthermore, female neutered cats only require 60 to 70 kcals to maintain a decent body condition score whereas male neutered cats require even less (45 to 55 kcals) (Zoran, 2011, p. 598). Studies have also proven that every cat’s activity level must be taken into consideration as their dietary needs call for increased caloric intake to match their energy output. In order to maintain muscle mass, an active 4-kg cat’s protein intake was 4.3g of protein/kg of BW/d, whereas a neutered (less...
