As he walks out from the front door to his car on the driveway… Treatment Concept I have chosen “Hitman” as the title of this short film. The aim is to create a 2 to 3 minute story in the genre of mystery. Within this mystery genre, a middle age man will be introduced without any dialogue but with a voiceover narration, as he gets ready for work. ...Visual Analysis of Toy Story 3: Ken’s Dating Tips #31 The Ken’s dating tips clip is a 32 second synopsis from, Toy Story 3, a computer animated comedy film. The third sequel of Toy Story was released in 2010 and it had the biggest success out of all the Toy Story films. Now it is listed as the highest grossing film which has ever been made. In this essay, there will be a discussion of all the components which make up the video clip and its consequential factors. The beginning of clip starts with Ken’s monologue about his following dating advice. His raised arm forwards to the camera shows that he wants to be a leader and that he wants to dominate in his story. “But an open palm facing upwards or away from his body indicates honestly and openness” (M. Boyanova, 2002 – 2007). This means that what he is going to say is paramount for him and he wants the audience to pay attention what he is saying. Later in the clip, Barbie is asking Ken out, but then Ken replies “NO” in an assertive manner, showing that he is a womanizer and that every girl who asks him out will always get denied. According to J. Berger (1972), women are depicted in a very different way from men – not because femininity is different from masculinity - but because the ‘ideal’ spectator is always assumed to be male and the image of the woman is designed to flatter him. But after few seconds he changes his mind and he accepts her offer showing that he is saying one thing, but is thinking differently. His loud...

Please view the following video by holding the control button on your keyboard and simultaneously clicking on the link: Carmex: 75 Years of Customer Engagement 2. Join your assigned group to answer all the questions in the bottom and submit them in Blackboard. Synopsis Both Carmex® lip balms and recently-introduced skin care products are produced by Carma Laboratories, a family-owned company that has taken pride in connecting to its customers since its founding, 75 years ago. The case focuses on how to do marketing research using Facebook to decide which two of three new possible flavors might be put into quantitative testing. The two key Facebook metrics that will be used in reaching the decision are “likes” and “engagement.” The three Facebook strategies are being considered that are expected to have differing effects on likes and engagement as well as costs: (1) a poll question on Carmex’s Facebook wall, (2) a contest on Facebook, and (3) both a poll and contest. The case challenges students both to understand the two metrics and the effects on them by using three alternative strategies on Facebook. Questions 1. What are the advantages and disadvantages for the Carmex marketing team in collecting data to narrow the flavor choices from three to two using (a) an online survey of a cross-section of Internet households or (b) an online survey of Carmex...

...Case 1: Telepresence: Meeting Without Traveling Synopsis: This assignment focused on the advancements of telepresence and face-to-face interactions among businesses. This technology is growing rapidly and offers businesses a way to save money with the ability to move into global markets. Businesses with this technology are able to conduct meetings and without having to physically send all parties to a single location. The technology and software is very expensive, but over time the trickle-down effect will allow almost all companies wanting to compete globally a chance at this technology. This is truly the technology of the future. 1. What kinds of limitations do you see for users of telepresence? Is it really a substitute for face-to-face meetings? Make a list of features of face-to-face meetings. Then consider a range of business situations as an employee, from initial hire, to working with a team, to understand what your boss wants, and even a termination meeting. How would telepresence work for you in these situations? There is still not that feeling of another person being in your presence. Computer screens are great, but nothing beats an actual face-to-face meeting, in my opinion. Telepresence is going to take place whether we like it or not, the cost saving benefits alone will be the reason. Interviewing future employee teem projects, and terminations could all very well be done with this technology. The lack of personal interaction will hinder a little...
