Decision Making Process Paper
Sometimes making decisions are not always as easy to make as they should seem. There are stages of decision making that should be followed which are discussed in detail within chapter three of this week’s readings. Typically something’s maybe easier to decide on than others.
There are six stages of the decision making processes which are: identify and diagnose the problem, generate alternative solutions, evaluate alternatives, make the choice, implement the decision and evaluate the decision (Pg 89). A decision I had to make recently involved a lot of thought due to being a huge change in my life, that decision was whether or not I should get back in school to better myself.
I had been pushed several years by my parents to get back in school, although my excuse was I did not have the time, the money nor the drive to want it myself I wouldn’t do as good by choosing to go back just to satisfy and make others happy. After looking at the resources available for funding I thought to myself that maybe I should try it but then how would it work out with my career. While conducting my research on the tools I needed for continuing my education, I visited Sallie Mae’s website and discovered that you can take out loans to where you do not have to repay until after you have finished your degree. So that means the whole time you are a student, you do not have to make payments (salliemae.com). You are able to apply for student loans with or without a cosigner.
After doing the research for the finances I researched online education and how I am able to work at my own pace for the most part. I then wanted to take the next step for myself because I no longer have a valid excuse to why I could not continue my education.
