...Marketing Strategy Report A new product for happiness Definition of happiness Happiness is the degree, to which an individual judges the overall quality of his own life as a whole favorably, and it is generally considered to be an ultimate goal in life; virtually everybody wants to be happy. Happiness depends on many things, including income, labor market status, job characteristics, health, leisure, family, social relationships, security, liberty, moral values, and many others (Ahn et al.2004). To provide more concrete and vivid definitions, the author interviewed 15 potential consumers. Among them, 6 interviewees illustrate the similar definition, which is to do what you want with somebody you love. Other definitions provided are being together with family members, wishes to come true and so on. Zara is moving forward with its successful entry into the digital world and continues to expand and manage its online presence: over a million daily web site visits and more than 14 million Facebook fans. The online expanding strategy in international key markets as the U.S. and China is one of the hot topics. ...C Sample Marketing Plan C1 APPENDIX C Sample Marketing Plan Star Software, Inc. Marketing Plan 1 I. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Star Software, Inc., is a small, family-owned corporation in the first year of a transition from first-generation to second-generation leadership. Star Software sells custom-made calendar programs and related items to about 400 businesses, which use the software mainly for promotion. Star’s 18 employees face scheduling challenges, as Star’s business is highly seasonal, with its greatest demand during October, November, and December. In other months, the equipment and staff are sometimes idle. A major challenge facing Star Software is how to increase profits and make better use of its resources during the off-season. An evaluation of the company’s internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats served as the foundation for this strategic analysis and marketing plan. The plan focuses on the company’s growth strategy, suggesting ways in which it can build on existing customer relationships, and on the development of new products and/or services targeted to specific customer niches. Since Star Software markets a product used primarily as a promotional tool by its clients, it currently is considered a business-to-business marketer. This sample marketing plan for a hypothetical company illustrates how the marketing planning process described in Chapter 2 might be implemented. If you are asked to create a marketing plan, this model...

...Memorandum To: National Toy Manufacturer From: Marketing, Inc. Date: September 3, 2012 ------------------------------------------------- Subject: New line of Educational Toys for kids aged 7-9 Introduction Marketing, Inc. has been hired to create a new line of educational toys for kids aged 7-10 years old. Marketing, Inc. will help National Toy Manufacturer (NTM) develop a marketing communication plan for the new educational toys. For Marketing, Inc. and NTM to be successful, Marketing, Inc. will focus on two key areas, demographics and psychographics of the target population. It is often stated that while demographics determine consumers’ needs for products (e.g., males and females need and buy different products) and the ability to buy them (e.g., income), psychographics explain buyers’ purchase decisions and the choices they make within the buying options available to them (Schiffman & Kanuk, 2010). Marketing, Inc. will use age and income as its two demographics and buying motives and values as its two psychographics for this marketing communication plan. Demographics Demographics offer four reasons why they are the core to almost all segmentations; (1) demographics are easy to classify people and can be measured more precisely than other segmentation basis; (2) cost effective way to locate and reach specific segments because most of the secondary data compiled about any population is based on demographics; (3) demographics enable marketers to identify business...
