Almost a century ago, a large number of inventions took place during the first industrial revolution. Within a short span of time, many countries became industrialized. Now we are in the beginning of another industrial revolution. The major cause of the second industrial revolution is the invention of computers. Computer is the most versatile machine humans have ever created. It plays an important role in our everyday life. It covers huge area of application including education, industries, government, medicine, and scientific research, law and even music and arts. Without computers, life wound certainly be difficult and different.

Although it has helped world in almost everything there are both positive and negative impacts.

POSITIVE IMPACT 1. Any professional individual like doctors, engineers, businessmen etc. undergo a change in their style or working pattern after they get the knowledge of computer. 2. An individual becomes more competent to take a decisions due to the computer because all the information required to take the decision is provided by the computer on time. As a result, any individuals or institutions get success very fast. 3. The person working at the managerial level becomes less dependent on low level staff like clerks and accountants. Their accessibility to the information increases tremendously. This improves their working patters and efficiency, which benefit the organization and ultimately affects the society positively. 4. In common life also, an individual gets benefited with computer technology. When airports, hospitals, banks, departmental stores have been computerized, people get quick service due to the computer system. 5. Computers have created new fields of employment. These employments are in the field of designing, manufacturing, teaching, etc 6. the financial transactions. Bank provide facility online transaction. NEGATIVE IMPACT 1. Due to any reasons, if the data stored in the computer is lost, the person responsible for handling the computer will have to tolerate a lot. 2. People do not use their mind for common arithmetic, which gradually results in loss of their numerical ability. 3. Today, any person who does not have the knowledge of computer is considered the second class citizens. 4. People have fear that growing children may lose their common sense abilities like numerical ability due to total dependence on computers. 5. Due to the computerization workload for the employees reduces many times. As a result, many organization may require to remove some of its employees. It produces the dissatisfaction and lack of security among the employees. Due to this, employees do not corporate the organization. As a result, the output can be disastrous. 6. As a result of introduction of new technology in an organization, the organization may need to spend a tremendous amount on the training of its employees. 7. The younger generation would rather communicate through computer (easier) than actually working towards making friends or finding love the good old fashion way. Thus, part of the magic of falling in love is lost. People breakup in emails rather than facing the person and as all generations have been taught before we must take responsibility for our own actions. 8. A high percentage of people sit at their computer far too long and some people lose reality as far as social activities and learning social skills. Not to mention packing on the weight and the lack of exercise that will haunt them further on down the road. 9. Sitting behind a computer all day is hard on the eyes. 10. Being on the computer too much takes away the imagination for most (although for a very few they can be creative in advertising and digital imagery, etc. on websites.) 11. Computers can distract a person so much they lose contact with the reality around them such as taking time with family, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, wives and children. 12. It opens up kiddy porn and other immoral things. 13. More crime is committed through the Internet. 14. More misinformation by SOME people on the Internet can cause problems for the younger generation. 15. More person problems by two people on the Internet (never having met) may cause heartbreak or mistrust. It's impossible to know someone well over the Internet. 16. Spammers are annoying. 17. Hackers can ruin your computer system.
