...Guidelines for the ECON 411W Term Paper Each student is expected to write a term paper on a topic relevant to the course, but of your choosing. Each of you should chose a topic and submit the idea by October 5th for my approval. In your proposal, you should describe to me what you plan to write about and why. You must (and this is important) provide a brief selection of material/scholarly articles that you plan to rely on for your paper. After your topic has been approved, you are free to begin development of the paper in greater detail. The purpose of this writing assignment is to help you express your thoughts/findings on a subject related to Money and Banking, as well as to gain some greater confidence in the process of scholarly writing. That said, I am NOT looking for original research, although in some cases (but not all cases), basic data analysis may be required for you to demonstrate certain points you wish to make. This project is about writing and expressing your ideas in a clear and careful way. A first draft of this term paper is due next Monday (November 11th). Please post the papers on Blackboard. If you must, you can forward to my email account. The paper must be typed, double spaced, and roughly 12 pages in length, exclusive of tables and references. The first draft will account for 1/3 of your final grade on the paper. I am looking to see that you have developed the idea in a reasonably thorough way. By that I mean the following: 1) You have...

...Nathan Clark Design for Instruction Task The information gathered from my contextual factors and pre-assessment inform me of what type of students I will be teaching. The contextual factors help me to have a better understanding of the type of demographic my students belong to and what type of learning styles they attain. This information will also allow me to know of any outside characteristics that may inhibit learning for an individual student and the students as a whole. For example, some students may have learning disabilities and the student’s as a whole may react negatively to artworks involving polytheism. Giving the pre-assessment allowed me to fully understand what level my students are performing for that particular unit. I have found that I need to focus a lot of time on vocabulary definitions and how to apply the terms to artwork. Prompt Results of Pre-Assessment The students in this introductory level drawing class consists of students that are required to take this class as an elective or students who have an interest in drawing and wish to pursue it. The students in this class have limited experience with the concepts and skills in drawing. The pre-assessment results allow for an analysis of where the students are in terms of general knowledge. The pre-assessment for learning goal one allowed me to have a base quality level of the students’ performance. It enables me to see what each student is capable of in terms of skill and...

...Effects of Bullying among Children and Adults Jose Vargas PSY325 Prof. Mar Navarro Submitted 5/7/2012 Currently, bullying is a large problem in schools which causes significant stresses to its victims (Voss & Mulligan, 2000). Bullying became a greater concern for school personnel, parents & research after a series of school shootings in the late 1990s, including Columbine (Seals & Young, 2003). The effects of bullying are seen over a long period of time in the lives of participants and can lead to antisocial behavior amongst both perpetrators and victims of bullying (Voss & Mulligan, 2000; Seals & Young, 2003.) This paper intends to conduct an overview on the effects that bullying has on its victims, both adult and child and which group is more or less likely to become bullied. It is also important to examine how the effects of bullying differ by age, gender, ethnicity and other factors that lower social status which predispose people to bullying. This paper proposes that bullying impacts groups differently and thus the symptomatology that results will differ, with those who are socially disadvantaged experiencing the greatest impact of bullying on their lives. Bullying should also show strong outcomes for negative social adjustment in its aftermath, including increased depression, stress, alcohol abuse and decreased self-esteem. Bullying is defined as repeated aggressive behavior which is intended to harm or disturb a person in which the conflict is...

I’ve never a finished a book until high school because I never found a book I liked considering I never tried since I didn’t have an interest in reading. Although, now I can say I like to read if I find the right book when i use to say that i hated reading. The youngest I remember writing was in 6th grade when I would write letters to my dad. I wrote letters to my dad after my parents got divorced since I didn’t get to see my dad from it. My letters would be about how much I missed him, how school was going, and how things were different. ...teachers’ attitudes towards science is a significant predictor of pupils’ science achievement as well as their attitude. In this present paper, students find the discipline within science boring and hard. It is hypothesized that the role of the educator will have a greater effect on the student than the students past learning experiences. Also, Chidolue (1986) stated teachers’ attitudes towards Biology teaching is one of the major contributors towards explaining the variance in students’ cognitive achievement. While Odubunmi (1986) and Odunsi (1988) were able to confirm that teachers’ attitudes towards Integrated Science teaching affected their students’ attitudes and their ability to learn the subject and Oqunwuyi (2000) found significant causal relationships between the teachers’ attitude and students’ achievement in Integrated Science. The following literature reviews will make an effort to demonstrate and support the hypothesis. In the research article by Prokop, P., Tuncer, G., & Chuda, J. (2007) they address the following questions as a guide for their study. First, what are students’ attitudes towards Biology lessons? Is there any difference between the mean scores of boys and girls on the six dimensions of the Biology attitude questionnaire? Is there any difference between the mean scores of students’ of different age classes (grade levels) on the six dimensions of the Biology attitude questionnaire? Lastly, what...

...Effects of the Distributed-Counseling Model in 7th Grade Hispanic Middle School Students’ Self-Efficacy Skills and Motivation \ Abstract The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of the distributed counseling model on twenty-four 7th grade Hispanic middle school students’ self-efficacy skills and motivation. This study focuses on measuring the various skills that Hispanic middle school children need to be successful at both the high school and collegiate level through the use of a self-efficacy and motivation instrument. In determining the effects of the distributed counseling model one can identify the effectiveness of this model in aiding with student success amongst Hispanic adolescents. It is noted that self-efficacy, amount of intrinsic as opposed to extrinsic motivation an individual possesses, and overall self-management skills are strong predictors of student success. Introduction Alonso-Zaldivar and Tompson (2010) found that Hispanics are at a point where, “Eighty-seven percent said a college education is extremely or very important, compared with 78% of the overall U.S. population.” However, “Census figures show that only 13% of Hispanics have a college degree or higher, compared with 30% among Americans overall.” This figure alone is astonishing in the sense that Hispanics understand the importance of an education, yet somehow seem to get caught up in the process of actually motivating and self-regulating themselves to achieve these educational...
