This case analysis covers a male patient of Amedisys Hospice. At Amedisys it is our goal to provide our patients with the care they need allowing them to live their last days being comfortable and having the best possible quality of life that is allowed. We provide comfort care for patients who have less than 6 months to live or a terminal illness with symptoms that need to be treated for comfort. When we take on a patient, we don’t only provide our services to the patient on hospice, but we care for the family as a whole as well. The staff is composed of 2 doctors,2 social workers, 8 nurses, 4 aids, 1 Chaplin, and 2 marketers, and volunteers. Each patient is required to have a nurse that will make weekly visits. The rest of the staff is optional.
