Since the earliest forms of democracy in ancient Athens to the harsh dictatorships of the Roman Empire, throughout time there has always been varying types political systems containing different ideas. However with all these systems and ideas there was corruption and depending on the system, varying amounts of corruption. Within any type of political system there will always be some type of corruption.

Recently with stuff like the abolishment of net neutrality it has become clear that corporations are now capable of influencing government policies to the benefit of themselves and not the common consumer. This is not just unfair but also corrupt because the government is biassed towards powerful companies instead of average people. The example of repealed net neutrality is corrupt because internet service providers do not have to treat all data on the internet the same which can lead to the downfall of small or hated companies. This modern day corruption however is way different than corruption in somewhere like ancient China.“Qin Dynasty,” (Document 6) portrays how the legalist ruler by the name of Shi Huangdi used warfare to unite the warring states of china and maintain complete control of the people. Shi Huangdi obviously with complete control punished people extremely harshly for wrongdoings and was corrupt sometimes.
