Emotions, Emotions, Emotions When you w3ake up in the morning, what are some of the things you do before heading out of the door? Most people look at the weather before they leave home .The weather sets the mood for the day. It determines what a person is going to wear and even a person’s attitude for the day. For example, if it is fall time and rainy out, a person might wear rain boots and a sweater. Now think of the colors of fall; orange, brown, yellow and red, and the colors of the leaves. The color brown can make one feel cozy, snug, and safe. Orange is associated with stimulation, warmth, and happiness. Thanksgiving is during the fall season and it is a time to stuff your face, to be surrounded by family, and to be thankful. And these colors help to set the vibe. Everyone is cheerful , full of laughter, and hungry. These feelings are asscosiated with the color yellow. Red symbolizes love and life and is mainly what people are thankful for on thanksgiving. Now back to the wet and slippery situation. When it is dark and stormy outside people tend to feel drowsy, sleepy, or even sad. Spring time gets the most rain typically in the western hemisphere. Spring time is one of the most crucial seasons for suicide. In the U.S. at least 30,000 people commit suicide each year. The suicide rates worldwide outweigh deaths involving accidents and homocides combined. IT is a popular belief that suicided rates peak during the spring. According the CDC almost 40,000 deaths in 2011 where suicides. That is aproxamatley 734 suicide deaths each week. Grady Dixon, Ph.D and a biometerorologist at Mississippi state university states that depressed people are able to be motivated to take action in the spring. He also reflects on one of the oldest therios; depressed people in the winter time don’t bounce back in the spring. They feel like the new season has came, but nothing about them has changed. This is the feelings that carry over and they do not get rid of during the winter. They feel feeling lonley, imcomplete, and unworthy of life and by the spring time all this pressure is building up and they have the courage to commit suicide. Another key point I want to bring to attention is the visual outside. When it is raining, cold, and dark for weeks people tend to stay in the house more. The sky is always drewy and grey. The color grey is assocated with a timeless sad and lonely mood. Epecuially a dull smokey grey color and being sorrunded by that color with no sunlight can damage the spirit. It make a person feel like they are useless and they want to kill themselves. Life is sometimes full of dullness in the spring. A person did not meet requirments for the new years and the weather is making it ten times worse; a recipe for suicide. I agree that colors and the weather have a direct correlation to a person’s emtions and behaviors. I beilve that there is enough psychological evidence and facts to prove this calim. Not only through reaserch but also through observing my enviromrent and the people around my everyday life. These factors can differ among the people. The age groups, gender and ethical background vary. Perception plays a big role in this argument. People may think differently and color psychology and art therapy are real ongoing studies and methods. Color psychology is basically the study of hues as a determinant of human behavior. Clolr often influences perceptions that are not noticiable like the taste of certain foods. Hues can also be used in medication to help encourage how a person feels after taking the percribed medication But this is not always true. Orange pills are normally used as stimulants. Like I mentioned earlier the color orange is coneected with stimulatition and energy. The color of the medication might help a person think they are feeling better. Another thing I noticed is how most reasturants are in the colors red yellow and blue. For example Mcdonalds , sonic, wendys, target, and etc. have logos ment to get your attwention. These colrs are there to try and trigger the feeling of being hungry, comfortable, excited, and calm. All these colros and emtoins make a person want to buy things I would assume from my observation. Today most companies in marketing and adevertiving use color psychology all the time to gain costumers. Mcdonanlds has went from more vibrant colors to more realaxed and soft colros to make costumers stay longer on free wi-fi. The costumers will sit in the café` type setting and buy more food from them. Big companies like this heavuily invest their money on advertising and visual perception. Color is consistenly use in everday life to make people feel a certain way. Another technique that most psyhcarticst may use is called art therapy. Art theraphy is a form of psychotherapy involving the encouragement of free self-expression through painting, drawing , or modeling, used as a remedial activtyor aid to diagnosis. This method may be more commonly with children who suffer from psychological prombles. I did a study of my own something lik an SRS or simple random sample. I surveyed random people on rust college campus. I asked what was there favorite color or did they like the color they where waering on that day. Then I asked them when they see that certain color what does it make you think off? How does it make you feel? If they where in a room painted in one color how would they feel? Does a certain color remind you of a specific time of the year or part event in your life? This part is about how a person perceives things and how their own life experinceas come into play.

...Johnny st.hilaire My Dream House Johnny st.hilaire My Dream House ` DREAM HOUSE My dream house, what would it be what would it look like it, and most important where will I build it. I like the countryside wide open areas, maybe farm lands with some animals. But I do like the city life with the nose, rude people, and heavy traffic on the high way. There is pros and cons to both environment, the countryside close to no air pollution, but less services you need to travel more to access services. The pros and cons of the city life more cultural opportunities, more diversity of people, more opportunities for higher education, better services like trash collection, water and sewer, cons more crime, more pollution, higher costs living. So as you can see I am little undecided about my dream house so. I am just going to explain two type of dream houses and locations one countryside and one in the city. First the city it would most likely be in Broward County a lake front home of course “I love water”. It would be 3 story house because it’s very hard to build full basements here. So one of the floors would be more like a half basement because the property will have a 3 car garage. The outside of the house would be a dark brown wood siding, and then a simple rock base that goes up about 1 feet on the house to give the old house effect. The side facing the water would be all glass so we can always look out to the gorgeous...

The Dream House

...My Dream House During a stress filled day do you ever find yourself daydreaming of being back at home? Not just an ordinary home, but the perfect house to relax and spend amazing moments with your loved ones. I always find myself dreaming about this not only the house itself but I also think of the surrounding and location of my house because the environment can influence the behavior, emotion and health. My imagination of a perfect home is a big, quiet, spacious and beautiful house located by the sea side. I find myself on an all-white brick path leading to my dream house. I walk with anxiety toward the house as if it is my first time seeing it. All around me lay the most beautiful trees and plants I have ever seen. It is peaceful but you can hear the sounds of birds chirping and small creatures playing in the underbrush. I now see my house for the first time up close. Nothing could have prepared me for the moment I was about to experience. Before me stood a three story tall house, with walls that are made of stucco painted in a cream and white color and it has an old fashion shingles that are a gray color. As I approach the front of the house I am surrounded by four columns leading to the most elegant doors I have ever seen. They are made of mahogany and have a stained glass window in the center. The handles and the frame are made of brass. As I continue around the house I come across three windows overlooking the entrance to the house. There are white shutters on...

...In life everyone has their own dreams, whether it be about cars, houses, or their career. Most people I know dream to have the biggest and luxurious houses but I was always satisfied with mine. My house is not a tiny apartment nor a huge mansion but a two story, plain brown brick cozy house with white painted doors. The front yard is decorated with beautiful flowers; roses, lilies, violets, dahlias, daisies and much more, my mother usually plant them. She says, "Flowers are a pleasure and perfection of nature, and they give many things to people, and it does not matter if you are rich or poor, they give you a wonderful world which makes you feel happy". It definitely makes her and our neighbors happy. She shares the seeds of her flowers with the neighbors since they love and always compliment her garden. Walking through the front doors of my house after a long day of school always makes me feel so relaxed. There is always a smell of fresh vanilla or brown sugar candles the moment I walk through my white painted door. As I walk up the stairs and I see four bedrooms and a washroom. There is one bedroom for each of us in the family; my parents, brother, sister and myself. I usually go straight to my room when I get home. The walls in my room are painted a nice light green. There’s my bed in the middle of the room, a desk, night table and a closet. I have always wished I had a walk in closet but I'm comfortable with what I have now, this closet does me just fine. Ad Analysis

...Ad Analysis The American Dream house isn’t a mansion, or a retro-modern loft in the city. The dream house is now a beautiful home in the suburbs where a mom can live with her children and the family pet. A house that is very organized, spotless, and can be a place where moms can relax. The most important aspect is the floor, where everyone in the house walks on. Floors get steam mopped, re-painted and waxed in order for it to stay spotless, shiny and perfect. In this advertisement from Better Homes and Gardens magazine, the company Pergo convinces moms that with any mayhem running around the house, moms don’t have to worry about them getting destroyed or stained on. Moms with Pergo flooring in their homes can have one less thing to worry about. Right in the middle of the advertisement there’s a cute little girl painting the nails of a Great Dane dog. Next to the girl a bottle of nail polish has been knockd over. She looks happy; She’s not even worried about the nail polish. The dog is looking straight at the audience, he looks tired. Above the dog and the girl you see a bold sentence saying “After a long day of running, he treats himself to a mani-pedi.” It states why the dog looks tired and tells the audience that he has run around all day so, like other days, it’s time to get his nails done. In the background the viewer sees a mom re-arranging flowers, indicating that she likes to keep the house spotless. Then in the bottom there’s a story that says that Pergo, the dog...

...to mature too quickly because of their environmental surroundings. The House on Mango Street, written by Sandra Cisneros, is an example of how a society has the ability to directly impact young lives, in turn creating necessary "rites of passage." Through her environment, Esperanza, one of the many girls living on Mango Street, learns how to survive in a world full the unknown. Some may believe that the setting for this novel has no bearing on young Esperanza; however, Esperanza's character and transition into adulthood are dramatically defined by her own surroundings and neighborhood. Sandra Cisernos's The House on Mango Street portrays the story of a young Latina girl growing up in Chicago. She has a vision of what her dream home should look like. She dreams of a house with a large beautiful backyard, real staircase, more than one bathroom, and just a house that she is overall proud to live in. Her house on Mango Street is the complete opposite to her dreams. It was a small red house, with just one washroom, no private backyard or green lawns. Esperanza is clear that her house on Mango Street is not what she wants. More importantly through the process of finding herself she is able to put together a meaning of what it is like to feel "at home." Esperanza believes that to feel "at home" a person is comfortable, relaxed and at ease in their home. By the end of the book she does not find the home of her dreams in reality, but she is confident that she will find it eventually. ...

Dream Home

...My Dream House House is a place where we can shelter and it gives us a protection from rain, heat , storm etc. Everyone has their own choice on what type of house they feel comfortable to live, so do I. I enjoy to live in calm and open environment, so house built on small land won't be my choice. I want a large open space surrounded by compound where I can stroll especially when I feel bored on my job. I want the garden in front of my house which will give me natural environment. One more thing to mention here, I want the house which is far from main city and industrial area since I don't like the noisy environment.Oh, yeah, what about the size of the house? I prefer the medium size house having 2 or 3 floors. I don't like very large building because I have small family and I don't like to rent my home. I prefer to stay in second or ground floor during the summer season because the top floor is excessively heated during the very season whereas I like to stay in second or third floor during the winter as ground floor will be excessively cold during that period. Next thing is about gym room, I would like to have a fitness center within my premise as I am a young boy and I want to be a healthy person. I have mentioned so many physical needs in my above paragraph but I would like to conculde my writing saying cool and amicable family environment is must to make our home like a heaven. My Dream House

...My Home Each year millions of dollars are spent on therapy because people want to re-live their childhood. These people discover late in life that childhood was the time period where the most meaningful parts of life were. Things from our past don't just fade away, they are part of us, and most people greatly miss them weather they know it or not. My most meaningful place is my parents' house because it is a symbol of reliving my childhood, indulging in good times, and just plain feeling at home. Childhood is the time in life where personality traits are formed and memories haven't yet taken a sentimental feeling. Now that those times are gone, I remember running through the neighborhood with my friends and many other happy times where I knew I was having fun. The time my brother and I were playing hockey in my living room was fun. It was a friendly game, and we even had the cushions form the couch set up so nothing would get broken. Little did we know one stray puck would have us replacing drywall at 11:30 PM so our parents wouldn't see it, but, like everything else, we did it because it was enjoyment. My theory on life is, in order for something to be meaningful, you have to want it. I don't always want the irresponsible times of discovery that were my childhood back, but I do strive for the feelings I had toward life when I was there. Having a pleasant attitude all the time may not be possible this day in age, but I know it's a good feeling when you can...

“Pink Houses” and the American Dream

...“Pink Houses” and the American Dream What is the American Dream? Is the American Dream to go from having nothing to building an empire? Could the American Dream be to live a simple life? To some people the American Dream could be to simply live in a country where they have freedoms unlike those in many other countries. John Mellencamp’s “Pink Houses” is his interpretation of the American Dream. The vast majority of people have different interpretations of the American Dream. Mellencamp’s song “Pink Houses,” includes lyrics such as “Cause they told me when I was younger said boy, you’re gonna be president.” ("JOHN COUGAR MELLENCAMP LYRICS") This verse represents an American parent expressing a high expectation for their son to achieve in life. Some people think that to achieve the American Dream, one must reach for the stars; such as, striking it rich or owning a multi-billion dollar corporation. Other people however, think in a more modest way such as in the verse “There’s a black man with a black cat livin’ in a black neighborhood, he’s got an interstate runnin’ through his front yard you know he thinks he’s got it so good.” ("JOHN COUGAR MELLENCAMP LYRICS") This lyric references the mindset that as long as people are living free and happy, it does not matter how much they have but rather what they have. History shows that the American Dream originally held different meanings than it does today. Yesterday the American Dream meant that by living in America, a man could...
