A Finger in Too Many Pies
Good afternoon everyone, today I prepared a speech entitled “A finger in too many pies”. A finger in too many pies means getting involved in many things. I just think that it’s appropriate for us since we are pre-occupied and will always be pre-occupied with a lot of things to do. We are so busy with our studies that make me wonder, do we still pay attention to other things in our life? Do we still put our fingers in many pies?

Well I have three pies to offer to you today.

First is spiritual pie. This is our relationship with God. With all those articles to memorize, handouts to answer and quizzes to take, do we still find time to go to church every Sunday? Do we give thanks more than what we ask for? If Satan can’t get you to sin, he will make you busy until you can no longer pray. We must always stay close to Him. Of all the pies, this is the most important. If you have this pie, you will always be provided with what you need.

Second is the relationship pie. This is your relationship with the people in your life. Friends are not that much issue since you see them at school but how about your family? Our parents as the case maybe, we are so busy growing up and we always forget that they are growing old too. Or when you’re at home, do you have a little time with your siblings? Not all of us have a perfect family but you should spend time with your parents and siblings as much as you can. They are often all you have when times get difficult in your life.

Last is the personal pie. This is you. You must remember to have fun! Do you still find time for your hobbies? Movies, books, koreanovelas, anything that makes you happy. Once in a while, you deserve to relax and to take a break from your stressors. It’s okay to go out every Friday night. It’s okay to go to the mall once in a week. And hey! It’s okay to sleep! Don’t deprive yourself of the great things in life especially if you deserve every bit of it!

My dear audience, stick your fingers in too many pies. Well not too many. I’m not telling you to focus to these things rather I am just reminding you that there are other pies to taste. It’s important to stay focused on your dream, but keep in mind that you deserve the fruity goodness that other pies have to offer. =)

Epilogue To Master Cake's Mistake

...A mysterious package arrived at Master Cake’s bakery one afternoon. It was a huge box that towered over Danny. “What is it?” Danny asked curiously looking at the box. Master Cake smiled, “You’ll see.” He said, opening the box. Danny looked with wide eyes as the box opened, revealing a shiny chrome color robot. “Cool! You got us a robot!” Danny shouted, hardly containing his excitement. Master Cake laughed, “Not just a robot, a robot chef.” he said, feeling as excited as Danny. Danny walked around the robot and spotted the many buttons on its back. His eyes were drawn to a big red button, right on the center. “Oooh, what does this button do?” he exclaimed as his index finger got closer and closer to the button. Master Cake wrapped his fingers...

Persuasive Essay On Blood Pressure

...Despite this, the vast majority of us give little, if any, thought to our blood pressure levels. While this probably doesn’t seem like such a big deal at first glance, undetected high blood pressure can have disastrous results. Many who suffer from high blood pressure visit their doctor on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis to have their blood pressure taken and ensure everything is running smoothly. While consulting a medical professional is certainly the number one way to stay on top of things, it is advisable to purchase a home blood pressure monitor so you can keep track of your BP every day. Of course, finding the right blood pressure monitor for you might be a little...

United Kingdom

...UNITED KINGDOM GEOGRAPHY OF UNITED KINGDOM  The United Kingdom (UK) is located just west of the mainland of Europe. It is made up of several islands, the largest of which is Great Britain. Great Britain is made up of Scotland in the north, England in the southeast and Wales in the southwest. Northern Ireland is the northwestern part of Ireland, a separate island nation just west of Great Britain, but it is also part of the UK. There has been violence in Northern Ireland for centuries because of religious and political conflict there. Because ocean waters surround the UK, it has a mild, rainy climate. The country's farmers produce about 60 percent of the food the UK needs. From 1980–90 the farming became more mechanized, with farmers using machinery to plant and harvest crops. The productivity of UK farms increased during that period by about 10 percent. More farmers raise livestock than crops, and some of the world's best beef and lamb is raised in the UK  Location: Western Europe Land Area: 241,590 sq km British Coastline: 12,429 Km Regions in United Kingdom: England: 47 boroughs, 36 counties, 29 London boroughs, 12 cities and boroughs, 10 districts, 12 cities, 3 royal boroughs Northern Ireland: 24 districts, 2 cities, 6 counties Scotland: 32 council areas Wales: 11 county boroughs, 9 counties, 2 cities and counties Bordering Countries to United Kingdom: Republic of Ireland History and Food  The United Kingdom (UK) has also been called the British...

The Great Gatsby Dialectical Journal Essay

...Jim smelled gingerbeard baking, he takes a bath a big cat comes along and watches. He then smelled the cakes burning, she came laughing, and waving her apron. Jim described his grandmother “She was a spare, tall woman, a little lowered, and she was apt to carry her head thrust forward in an attitude of attention, as if she were looking at something, or listening to something far away. As I grew older, I came to believe that it was only because she was so often thinking of things that were far away. She was also quick-footed and energetic in all her movements. Her voice was high and rather shrill, and she often spoke with an anxious inflection, for she was exceedingly desirous that everything should go with due order and decorum. Her laugh, too, was very high and perhaps a little strident, but there was a lively intelligence in it. She was then fifty-five years old, a strong woman, of unusual tolerance.” After Jim got dressed he explored the long cellar next the kitchen. It was dug out beneath the wing of the home, was plastered and cemented, with a stairway and an outside entrance by which the males arrived and went. Beneath one of the windows there was a place for them to wash when they arrived in from work. While Jim grandmother’s was occupied about dinner Jim settled himself on the wooden bench behind the stove then he got acquainted with the cat- he caught not only mice, rats, but gophers, Jim was told. The patch of yellow sunlight on the floor went back toward the stairway...

Crime and Media

...topic for discussion and exploration by the general public, the Media institutions are only too happy to help out in this reporting , of course with a financial cost to the public, but not necessarily with reporting truths or with integrity, within this essay I will demonstrate instances of inaccuracy through the research. There are many on-going debates into Mass Medias influences on crime and violent crime in particular, but is this a true reflection of the current culture crisis or a fabrication to sell copy, taking for instance the Murder case of James Bulger in 1993, after the then 10year old boys Robert Thompson and Jon Venable led 2year old James away from a shopping centre in Liverpool to a brutal /senseless and pointless murder the Media was instantly ‘all over’ the case , even though a murder of children by children was extremely rare the reporting of and style of reporting throughout the case was reflecting to the public all that was now wrong in Britain, The Sun instantly called for ‘a crusade to rescue a sick society’, a ‘breed’ of violent children , single mother parenting , and dysfunctional underclass families where being painted as those whom would bare these types of violent monsters creating one of the most widely advertised Moral panics of the 20th Century (Cohen, 2002). Baking a Fruit Cake

...INTRODUCTION Cakes celebrate the ceremonies and milestones of our lives birthdays, weddings, and almost any other festive occasion and for good reason. No matter the variety layer cakes, sheet cakes, Bundt cakes, cheesecakes brought to the table at the end of the meal, a cake always elicits admiration. Cookies are delightful and pies are tasty, but no dessert is quite as impressive as a beautifully baked and finished cake. Cake recipes don't have to be fussy and difficult, however. Simple, unfrosted varieties such as pound cakes and coffee cakes are just as delicious as their showier layered cousins. In this primer, we'll explain the differences between the various types, as well as the basic steps that are common to nearly all cake recipes. If you're a novice baker, you can start with the simple pound and angel food cakes in the list below and move on to more complicated recipes as you gain confidence. And if you're already experienced, understanding the different categories of cakes and the various options for finishing them will give you a basis for experimenting and creating recipes of your own. 1 AIMS The general aim of this article is to bake a fruit cake that is within an acceptable range of edibility and social acceptability, within an acceptable range of resource expenditure in terms of cost and time. ...disintegration of a human personality. In keeping with the "once upon a time" lead, the style is similar to a fairy tale except that "happily ever after" does not happen. The reader should consider the monotonously repetitive tasks taken over by the husband and later shared with the live in girl and compare these with the usual tasks of men in their jobs at the office or wherever. Then, consider how all of this relates to the final "legacy" of food, laundry, and sonnets. Once upon a time there was a wife and mother one too many times One winter evening she looked at them: the husband durable, receptive, gentle; the child a tender golden three. The sight of them made her so sad and sick she did not want to see them ever again. She told the husband these thoughts. He was attuned to her; he understood such things. He said he understood. What would she like him to do? "If you could put the boy to bed and read him the story about the monkey who ate too many bananas, I would be grateful." "Of course," he said. "Why, that's a pleasure." And he sent her off to bed. The next night it happened again. Putting the warm dishes away in the cupboard, she turned and saw the child's grey eyes approving her movements. In the next room was the man, his chin sunk in the open collar of his favorite wool shirt. He was dozing after her good supper. The shirt was the grey of the child's trusting gaze. She began yelping without tears, retching in between. The man woke in alarm and carried her in...
