...A kiss In modern day society and western culture, seeing two people intertwined in a kiss happens on a daily basis without any second thought. It is an action that almost everyone engages in at some point in their life. However, a kiss can have multiple meanings, as shown in the pictures above. A kiss can have many cultural connotations depending on the cultural context and can mean a variety of things including the expression of love, passion, affection, friendship, or good luck. In each of the pictures above, a different emotion is being expressed, but the bottom line remains that a kiss knows no color, no race, no sexual orientation, or class. A kiss is universal. In the first photo, a viewer may notice the black and white couple first, or the fact that the photograph was taken in black and white, but it is obvious that the main focus of this picture is the kiss. The first feelings that may be invoked would be a feeling of love because that’s what a kiss is commonly known for. After reading the caption underneath the photo, the kiss itself takes on an entirely new meaning. This photo was taken in the spring of 1965, in Washington, D.C., of Richard and Mildred Delores Loving, an interracial couple defying the idea of right and wrong as defined by the Racial Integrity Act of 1959 in the Common wealth of Virginia. When you look at the photo, you notice the man is pulling the woman into her as if he wants to protect her from the harm and pain she might endure...

...Interpreting “Love” and “The Kiss” In the book Patterns for College Writing: A Rhetorical Reader and Guide, there are two sculptures that depict different meanings of the same word, love. The first sculpture “The Kiss” was created by the artist Auguste Rodin. It shows two naked people kissing in a passionate embrace. The second sculpture “LOVE” was created by the artist Robert Indiana, and it shows the four letters, L-O-V-E, stacked in a square. “The Kiss” either implies that people can have love for just a moment in time, or that it is showing how two people express their love for one another. In this case, it was be implying love more than lust, but the depiction is left to the viewer. On the other hand, “LOVE” suggests that love can mean a number of things depending on the viewer. The artist seems to have a more broad view of love, whereas Rodin depicts a specific moment. These two artists are showing their arguments on the subject of love. “The Kiss”, to the viewer, looks like it depicts lust more than love if a person looks at it one way. However, he may be showing that some people could consider lust to be love, or he could be showing how two people show their love for one another by passionately embracing and touching. This implies that love can be just as real sensually as it can be emotionally. The two people are naked, which makes it look like more than a kiss. It is showing love in the heat of the moment, not over time. When someone sees it he may think of his...

...and starts kissing you as you two fall onto the bed. She is on top of you, her hair falling down like a curtain over your face. I can still see you two kissing passionately her full lips crushing yours, your tongues dancing. She pushing her hand up your top to caress your breast, you had completely succumbed to her. She pushed your top up over your head keeping your arms tied up in it. She continued to kiss you, pulling at your lip with her teeth, then biting your neck and burying her face between you soft full breasts. She looks over at me, laid back on the couch, watching her skillfully seduce you. She takes your nipple in between her teeth and tugs, raking it as you arch you back in appreciation. Her eyes still on me, she flutters her silky tongue over your erect nipple before taking it her mouth, your head arched back now trying to free your arms so that you could participate. Once your arms are free you pull her up, your lips lock in a deep hungry kiss, this time you’re driving. Your hands in her dark hair holding her to you. You had been over this a least a hundred times in your head, and it was obvious by the look in your eyes that you two were the only people in the...

...The piece of artwork I picked is “The Kiss” by Gustav Klimt (b.1862-d.1918) which was drawn between the year 1907 and 1908 in which “Only the faces and hands of this couple are visible; all the rest is great swirl of gold, studded with colored rectangles as if to express visually the emotional and physical explosion of erotic love”. (The WebMuseum) The human experience that this artwork relates to is love which is clearly seen in the painting the work of art depicted a man and woman embracing each other lovely with their bodies fused together showing their unity for one another as stated “Klimt’s work explores the themes of birth, life death. The woman is especially depicted by turn as emotional joy bringer, temptress and child bearer. The bodies fused together as one emphasis their unity”. (Echostains) The way this human experience is meaningful to my life is that this is the way I show my love for my wife by embracing her in a loving way which help show her how much I love her as depicted in the painting so it can prove meaningful to a lot of people’s love life. The way this work of art expresses and relates to my own and most people’s human experience because at one time or another we all at one time have been in a relationship where we will show our love for one another by embracing and caressing our mates in loving way this is how many people in love express their love of another. ...In Venezuela greetings are a sign of good manners. It is common to greet others by kissing cheeks, hugging, patting on the back, shaking hands and also saying “hello”. We also say “hello” (but not hug or kiss) when a person enters an elevator, bus or some other place, even if the person is a stranger. It is common to kiss cheeks and hug among family and friends. We hug among men and we kiss on the cheek and hug among friends of opposite sex or among female friends. Venezuelans only give one kiss, so we often forget to expect a second (or third) kiss from other cultures that have this custom. We shake hands when we are meeting a person the first time. Sometimes we even kiss on the cheek when meeting for the first time (opposite sex), this is a sign of trying to be friendly and does not necessarily mean a romantic interest. It is important to mention that Venezuela is a multicultural country, and that is the reason why we respect and understand persons who do not feel comfortable greeting by kissing or hugging because it is not their custom. CLOTHING Venezuela has summer-like temperatures throughout the year because of it’s location in the tropics. This is the reason that we are informal in our style of clothing especially on weekends. We usually wear T-shirts, shorts, jeans, and tennis shoes. Bathing suits in Venezuela are relatively skimpy, but it is not common to be topless or walk naked on the beach. The concept of a grand bath does not exist in our culture. We are...

...INTRODUCTION Product overview The Canon EOS 600D is an 18.0 megapixel digital single-lens reflex camera, released by Canon on 7 February 2011. It is known as the EOS Kiss X5 in Japan and the EOS Rebel T3i in the Americas. I was one of those who are thinking about getting the very first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) Camera, when I first laid my eyes on the Canon Kiss X5. At the time, there were only basic features of the product that I could access, based on limited knowledge about technical terms and shooting capacity in Photography. The Canon Kiss X5 is the newest in the Rebel series of cameras that have been produced by Canon, in order to satisfy the demand for great cameras by amateur customers. First we are going to examine the quality of the photos that can be taken. With a DSLR Camera, the quality of images stands beyond the concept of “mega pixels” (often boast about 7 to 10 for regular point shot digital cameras). We can be able to take photos in all lighting conditions with an ISO rating up to 6400 which is expandable to ISO 12800. The camera can also capture video with 1920 x 1080 full HD, is something that lots regular camcorders cannot claim to be able to do. So what makes the gear outstanding among its ancestors (with the same sensor system as the previous model Canon Kiss X4)? Perhaps it is because of the additional new features that can reveal creativity and facilitate the use of customer. By using Basic+, it provides settings whereby we can shoot by...

...artwork. Giotto Di Bondone’s painting “Kiss of Judas” is just one example of this, and how people must keep a watchful eye in order to accurately understand the intended meaning of the artwork. Looking at lines, shapes, compositional space, color, scale, and even titles can help a person make connections with an artist. Looking for these important details can give a viewer a window and an understanding into the artist’s mind when they were creating the piece in question. A viewer who is trying into interpret the artwork may also find it helpful to look for, and give meaning to, historical symbols. Although “Kiss of Judas” may seem very simple, upon closer examination one may find multiple symbols, lines, color choices and other aspect of the painting that were purposely applied to send an intended message to the viewer. Looking for all of the...

...------------------------------------------------- HOW IT WORKS? …….I unroll that and discover seven loose audiotapes. Each tape has a dark blue number painted in the upper right-hand corner, possibly with nail polish. Each side has its own number. One and two on the first tape, three and four on the next, five and six,and so on. The last tape has thirteen on one side, but nothing on the back Hello, boys and girls. Hannah Baker here. Live and in stereo. No return engagements. No encore. And this time, absolutely no requests. I hope you’re ready, because I’m about to tell you the story of my life. More specifically why my life ended. And if you’re listening to these tapes, you’re one of the reasons why: I’m not saying which tape brings you into the story, But fear not,if you received this lovely little box, your name will pop up… I promise. The rules are pretty simple. There are only two. Rule number one: You listen. Rule number two: You pass it on. Hopefully, neither one will be easy for you. When you’re done listening to all thirteen sides-because there are thirteen sides to every story-rewind the tape, put them back in the box and pass them on to whoever follows your little tale. And you, lucky number thirteen, you can take the tapes straight to hell. Depending on your religion, maybe I’ll see you there. In case you’re tempted to break the rules, understand that I did make a copy of these tapes. These copies will be released in a very public manner if this package doesn't...

I want everything to be okay. So I just rubbed my cheek against the side of her head and breathed in her beauty. I don't know if she realized I was showing affection or just thought I was repositioning my head but it was okay because everyhing was okay. Every once in a while I was overwhelmed by emotion I would tear up and laugh all at the same time. Is that love? I don't know. "I like you." I said. We don't say we love each other yet but it's okay because we say it with our eyes, I think. Does she love...

After having a very heavy teaching session with Zayn… “Yes, I survived!” He said, giving a punch to the air. “Good for you” Keira said rolling her eyes. “What’s wrong? You’re being sarcastic” Zayn grinned Just as she was about to open an important topic, Zayn spotted Rachel. “Wow! Is that a kiss mark?! Congrats, That’s such a notorious development!”Zayn exclaimed. “What’s a kiss mark? Is that a mark and a kiss but not really a kiss mark?” Keira butted in. “I-It’s not what you think it is!” Rachel said defensively “Whatever, Keira. Just shut up! You’re polluting this area.” “Area? ...four Russian cosmonauts for 110 days. At the New Year's Eve party, the participants partook in the drinking of vodka, which was allowed by the Russian space agency. What evolved was a series of events which involved violence, sexual harassment, and questionable ethics. A violent fight erupted between two of the cosmonauts, which was resolved quickly. Later, the Russian commander aggressively kissed, twice, the only female participant, Judith Lapierre. All three of the international participants appealed to the IBMP regarding the Russians behaviour, requesting disciplinary action. The experiment ended in controversy as the Russians downplayed the kiss, saying it was a fleeting kiss and blaming an emotional female participant whilst Lapierre claimed sexual harassment. Thus, was it really sexual harassment or a stolen kiss? Or is the question here that the parties involved here had attached different meanings to the same incident. Cultural differences amongst the participants led to the conflict, which were exacerbated by the influence of alcohol. The Russians responded by claiming that ’In the West, some kinds of kissing are regarded as sexual harassment. In our culture it is nothing.’ But is this really the issue, or is it that the confinement of an Austrian, a Japanese, a Canadian and four Russians was at high risk for cultural conflict and misunderstanding in the first place? In sight of that, it was the responsibility of the Russians...

...HT, 915516360 SXS/SPY 320, Fall 2014 Is a Bad Kisser a Deal Breaker? He turns her towards him, looks into her eyes with a slight smile. He bends towards her and their lips meet. All of a sudden, he starts kissing aggressively. She feels something wrong. The kiss is wrong. It gradually becomes a sloppy, wet and gooey kiss. She has thought he was perfect, but for the first time ever, she ends up dating a bad kisser. This half-way romantic scene seems to happen with a lot of people. Some agree that bad kissers do not work out for them, or they cannot maintain a long term relationship because of the lack of chemistry. However, I personally would not break up with a potential partner if he or she was a “bad” kisser because there are other factors that we need to consider such as individual physical attractions, conversation, personality, and that bad kissers can be fixed. While kissing technique does a crucial element in stimulating chemistry, individual physical attractions such as hearing, visualizing, and touching are equally important in contributing to the sexual attraction between couples. According to the article “Puckering Up Now Just Lip Service?” the lips are the most sensitive parts and kissing is the fastest way to stimulate sex drive between two people (Elia/Chen, p. 11). However, there are other erogenous zones - particular areas on the body that responds to sexual attraction - that can work the same as the lips (Lecture, 09/17/14). Different people are attracted...
