...Life Changing Event Jonathan McCullough English Composition 1 Tina Miller February 3rd 2014 Life before my daughter’s birth was excellent, or so I thought. I was entirely wrapped up in my desires and myself. I was the definition of selfish, but somehow my wonderful wife put up with me through those years. The worst part of it was I didn’t even realize it. The funny thing about having children is that they give you a deep understanding of selflessness. Even when we found out that my wife was pregnant, I still carried on pretty much the same way I always had. I had no idea that my world was going to come crashing down around me. Through all of the dust and rubble of the remainder of what I thought was my great life, a brilliant light began to shine through. The light was the love that I felt for my daughter, once you have experienced that depth of love, your life will never be the same. The birth of my daughter was one of the most positively impactful events of my life. The day she was born will be etched into my memory forever. After a scheduled doctor visit we were sent straight to the hospital to begin the journey. I remember the excitement that was almost tangible as we drove to the hospital. After checking in they put us in a small examination room on the labor and delivery floor. We were to spend a long and uncomfortable night. My wife was uncomfortable for obvious reasons, me on the other hand, I had pushed to hospital chairs together to form a makeshift bed for...

Hassan Mazaheri January 12, 2016 THE HOUSE OF HOPE AND DIRECTION OF A LIFE CHANGING EVENT 2 The House of Hope and Direction of a Life Changing Event The time that I have applied leadership and an immense amount of communication is when my family and I head down to Mexico on a missions trip. Once a year we pack our bags and head across borders driving a total of 16 hours, going into the heart of Mexico we drive through Chihuahua City arriving at a little town called Anahuac. Inside Anahuac is an orphanage called “Casa de la Esperanza,” it is filled with laughter and a second chance for kids who never got the attention and love they deserved. This orphanage has roughly 40-70 kids a year ranging in size, age, and backgrounds you would never wish on anyone. Hearing some of these children’s stories and where they came from would never reflect on who they were on the inside, all these kids want is love and friendship and they would quickly give it back. The very first time we arrived at Casa a lot was going through my mind, since this was a new experience that was out of my comfort zone. I felt times like these really help expand and push limits of leadership and communication that benefit and support a community...

...PSY 202 Week 2 Assignment My two life events are the birth of my son and being in the military, the reason I have chosen these two events are because they have both significantly had a positive impact on my life the following paragraphs will show why I believe that these events have positively impacted my life. The first event is my son, when he was born my life was completely changed for once it was up to me to take care of another human being besides myself, I had to feed him, change his diaper, give baths and take him to the doctor for checkups. This was life changing for me because I had never had to do any of those things before. There was no more going out to parties and hanging out with friends all hours of the night, my life was totally devoted to him. It was a life changing experience that I had to change and adapt to in a short amount of time, thus impacting my life in a positive manner. Urie Bronfenbrenner proposed a theory of ecological systems, which focuses on broad, interconnected influences on human development. It proposes that we can best explain development in terms of the interaction between individuals and the environments in which they live(Bronfenbrenner, 2004) The second event would be my career in the military. I had to completely change my way of thinking because being on a military routine is not for the faint of heart, nor is it for everyone. I had to go off on my own and have a stranger telling me what to do, where to go, how to properly address...

...RETROSPECTIVE ANALYSIS OF PERSONALITY Student’s name Prof’s name Course title Date The personality of an individual is not a static condition but rather a dynamic one which is affected by the environment as well as the nature of the individual. Changes in the personality of a person is inevitable especially in a continuously changing environment. That person requires new mechanisms to be able to cope with the environmental changes. However, some personalities are consistent even with these changes. The events we experience in our lives are very crucial in shaping our personalities. There are however other factors that were very crucial to the same. The most important of them all is culture. Culture is one of the most influential factors and is the values, beliefs and norms shared by a specific group of individuals. The way we behave and live in the society is influenced by our culture thus having a great impact in our personality development. This is evident with most people hailing from the same area have many similar personality traits (Kohler E, 2002). As a child I was naïve and always made several mistakes in life. Sometimes I would even try to do something I had been warned not to do just to know the reason for been denied that chance. Trusting individuals was a problem as the people I was open to were my parents and some close relatives. This trait has changed over time and nowadays I have close friends with whom I can share my troubles with within my age group. I...

The important thing that what it has changed in his personality. Has it’s changed it to the worse or to the better. In this Essay I will talk About an Event that has made a change in my life. The most impactful thing that happened in my life was changing from one school to another. When I was in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) I changed my school from the Country system to the British system. I needed to change my school, because my old school didn’t provide the British system. My new school was fantastic, we had a lot of activities, and teachers were great it was going good. The thing that made an impact was making new friends. I always had that thought that friends will come to you, you don’t have to search for them. For the next three weeks I was sitting alone still holding on that thought. Till one day, one teacher came to me and told these simple words, “Friends sometimes come alone and sometimes you to search for them”. From that day I was talking with everybody in my class, knowing what they like and what they don’t. Then I started to choose the ones that were suitable to me. In two weeks I found that I made a lot of friends than the ones I had in my old school. This event has let me learn to be opened minded and accept all kinds of people. In my opinion, this event has changed me to the...
