...dynamics has important role to play to complete any task. Be it a small one or a large one. Because at the end, it is the performance of the team that is responsible for better productivity. About team dynamics, I had some different perspective before coming here. Though I have work experience, but still I have always worked around people of my country. Though my client was a US company, but we had interactions only through mails. So I though team dynamics is more of dividing the work and working together because you have all the people of like mindedness around you. However, after coming here it was a totally different experience for me. Being an exchange student for international exposure, this subject and various activities helped me in good understanding of team dynamics. The group that I was assigned to had people from diverse background- Russia, Africa, India. So it was a perfect blend of totally different cultures. Forming Stage: Since the group was formed by Mam randomly, we were forced to come out of our comfortable zone and be more interactive and work with others who were not already friends with us. Hence, it started out as formal temporary team. We didn’t had any problems introducing ourselves and was excited to work together initially. We came up with a common goal about the preference that would be given to this subject for various assignments and group activities. We also started thinking of some norms that we should follow while working together since everyone...

...I'm glad someone finally asked me my thoughts about global warming! Personally, especially this time of year I think the heat could be turned up a little bit more! I have a hard time believing it is the "most urgent possible disaster that could hit us" any time soon and that we need to give our full attention to it. I watched all about it on History channel this last weekend and even the clips and photo's that they show do not convince me that it is the #1 concern that society and the world should have. I personally believe that it is just "big business." And those who are capitalizing on it...know it! Now, I don't mind recycling and simple stuff like that, but I won't give up my candy apple red convertible GT and drive an ugly car loaded with batteries that looks like my sons shoes going down the highway! Do people really think we'll all turn into eco-friendly hells angels riding mopeds? .... Right... I'm glad someone finally asked me my thoughts about global warming! ...Yeah, I saw it, it was great. M: So what did you want to see me about? P: Ok, well. First of all, I wanted to congratulate you. M: Oh, thanks, thanks so much. I called my mom and dad I was so excited. P: I’m really happy with your work. And I also want to talk to you a little a bit about how I think, for us to organize ourselves a little bit better… M: Did you see this? P: Yes, I saw it, I loved it. M: Of course you have. P: Of course. You know, with the few campaigns you have been working on, there was a tiny complaint by the client that you went over budget by quite a bit of money. Now, I know that they were not told in advance. It was 11 grand over budget. M: Oh come on, that’s nothing. You know that’s nothing. That’s a drop in the bucket to these people. P: But they were upset about it. And you know that we have to… M: Oh, hold on. P: …cater a little… M: I was buzzing, I just… P: Yeah, ok. M: Oh, oh it’s Scott and Abby. P: Miguel, let’s turn our cell phones off while we’re in the meeting if you don’t mind. M: Oh my god. No, I’m just kind of on cloud nine still because I just can’t believe it. P: I know, but you’re busy, I’m busy so let’s uh... I just wanted to specify to you that there are certain things that maybe we should be doing, that neither of us are doing. Just to organize ourselves better. M: But we are being successful, we are being great. P: Of course. No, you’re right just listen to me for a second. M: Have you seen the plastered...

...we started to just clean up the house a little bit so we wouldn't have to clean up when we get home and also have to unpack to. My sister leah and me are so excited to go on a cruise. My mom and dad told us that we can eat whatever we want and you don’t have to pay because you pay a price before you go on the cruise. You can get ice cream 24-7 or you can get pizza or burgers and fries. You can get really whatever you want. On a cruise you get to stay on the boat a full day, then you go get off for 6 hours, then on boat all day, then off for 6 hours, then full day that is a whole cruise. So after we were done packing my sister and me went outside to play for a little bit while are mom cleaned the house a little bit more and my dad was making dinner. We played on our trampoline and alo played with friends. When my dad called us in for dinner we came in and we ate dinner. After dinner we had to stay in the rest of the night because we had to get up at 4:30 in the morning and get in comfy clothes and drive to texas....

...Finale The beginning of this semester I found myself in a skeptical mindset, as I had already taken a class at Hawkeye Community College that sounded quite similar to this one, namely introduction to professional writing in the workplace. To me, it seemed like I would just be paying a lot more to take a class that I had basically already taken. I found myself wondering if I would get anything more out of this class, if I would have any interest in it, and if the information would pertain at all to my hopes for the future. The first project that we worked with was resumes and cover letters which coincidently, we had already done in the class that I listed above. Fortunately, my idea of this class being just a rerun of what I had already taken was quickly thrown out of the window. I realized quite early that I would be able to create a much better piece of work and representation of myself in the...

But at the same time she loved it and missed her home town. Good Things Fall Apart, So Better Things Can Come Together When I regularly came home from school and hanging out with friends around 7 in the evening, my mother surprised me with some news. She grinded and said that she had something to tell me. When I saw a smile on her face, I was excited to hear it. “You are going to America.” she said. I stopped smiling and turned my face into a frown. I didn’t want to go. I didn’t want to leave my house, school, families, and best friends that I have for my entire life. “But mom, everything is expensive over there. ” I tried to give her as many excuses as I could think. I added, “I’m not going to have any friends. I don’t know how to speak English. It is impossible for me to study over there. I don’t want to go. Please, let me stay here.” “You will be fine. You have your brother and your dad there. What are you afraid of? Your dad has been there for many years. All he wants is to see his kids succeed with good education. Look at your brother; he is fine over there. So you will be ok.” she said. I was sitting on a mountain of wet tissues. I would miss my friends a lot. ..."My Little Bit of Country" by Susan Cheever What would you prefer; The relaxing life of the suburbs or the wild diversity of the urban life? Some would prefer one while the other would feel inexplicably horrible in choosing the other. “My Little Bit of Country” is an essay by Susan Cheever, this essay starts from when she was a little girl and ends in 2012 which is when she wrote the essay. In the beginning little Susan Cheever was living in New York and was pretty happy with her life there, but that wasn’t enough for the family, they wanted the American Dream with the white picket fence and a place in the “real” country, as Susan Cheever puts it. This did not please her and she really disliked the suburbs, that when she got older she would go to New York as much as possible. In the end she moves to New York again and is happy and forever satisfied with the urban life. The story is basically written with contrasts, contrasts and more contrasts. The most obvious one is the suburb life vs. the urban life; country vs. city. She very much dislikes the country life, it being a step down from the city: “Why would I want to scrape around the rough, dangerous ice of a country lake when I could glide around the smooth ice at the Wollman Ring and pause for a hot chocolate when my toes and fingers get too cold?” here she compares the natural procedure of the lake turning to ice with a manmade ice rink specifically made to be the most safe way to skate. Some would say that the country would have something special about it...

...and discover it in the corner. It was just a plain brown door; there were no name markers on it. I hoped she had given me the right room number. I knock with force three times, and wait patiently. After about ten quick seconds, the door flies open and startles me a little. “Hey! Sorry my room is a little bit messy, I was gone all weekend, and I got back not too long ago” Jennah says. I explain to her that I totally understand, as I was gone all weekend too. I look past her a little bit as I am entering her dorm room. It is a little bit plain, and not equipped with much. As I look to my left at her bed, I do notice something that catches my interest: a Hello Kitty bed comforter. “No way! Jennah, I adore your comforter” I say excitedly. “Hello Kitty is the bomb” she agrees. I am not surprised at the fact that she has a comforter with a character popular among young elementary-aged girls. For the week that I’ve known her, she seemed very free-spirited, and young at heart. I observe her outfit and see something I, for some reason, did not notice when I first entered. She was wearing a Hello Kitty t-shirt. Accommodating her shirt was a pair of black cut-off shorts that looked like she may have chopped them into shorts herself. She was also wearing a necklace with a small metal skull, and few black and white rubber bracelets. The two most prominent things about her, however, were the two lip piercings (known as snake bites), and the blue shoulder-length hair. “So yeah, this is...

...As I walked down Main St. towards Zooleggers, I took stock of the area around me. I had been on the street many, many times, but had never really taken the time to really look at the area. The street was reminiscent of an era long past, with slightly decaying row shops with apartments above, stretching forever down a quiet downtown street. In the middle of the block, was my destination for the night, Zooleggers, Lafayette’s only gay bar. Zooleggers was by far the worst looking shop on the street. The outside brick was gray and well worn. There was large backlit sign, faded and cracked through years of neglect with the former name of the bar, “The Sportsman” written in huge letters. Below that, marquee boards rested to both sides: the right had a collection of exposed fluorescent lights, the left a hastily created white vinyl banner with the name "Zooleggers" displayed in a subdued font. The windows in front were darkened so that the inside of the bar was barely visible to people on the street. As I opened the heavy glass door, I couldn’t help but notice the flyers taped to the window. One had a list, complete with pictures, of drag queens that regularly perform at the venue. Another listed some future events for Lafayette PRIDE. And yet another flyer listed some upcoming indie band shows at Zooleggers, which surprised me a little because it didn’t seem like the type of place to host indie bands. After I walked through the inner door, I was greeted by a tall man...

It went down in the middle like a giant stone bowl. After my neighbor went across the piece of stone I went across. When my left foot touched the stone a huge vine dropped down on me. It hurt like crazy because the vine came fast and it had lots of thorns on it. It landed on my left leg and both my arms. It cut me up and I just jumped and yelled like a crazy person. I started crying and yelling a bunch because it hurt...

...novella A Clockwork Orange in 1962, which ought to be far enough in the past for it to be erased from the world's literary memory. It refuses to be erased, however, and for this the film version of the book made by Stanley Kubrick may be held chiefly responsible. I should myself be glad to disown it for various reasons, but this is not permitted. I receive mail from students who try to write theses about it or requests from Japanese dramaturges to turn It into a sort of Noh play. It seems likely to survive, while other works of mine that I value more bite the dust. This is not an unusual experience for an artist. Rachmaninoff used to groan because he was known mainly for a Prelude in C Sharp Minor which he wrote as a boy, while the works of his maturity never got into the programmes. Kids cut their pianistic teeth on a Minuet in G which Beethoven composed only so that he could detest it. I have to go on living with A Clockwork Orange, and this means I have a sort of authorial duty to it. I have a very special duty to it in the United States, and I had better now explain what this duty is. Let me put the situation baldly. A Clockwork Orange has never been published entire in America. The book I wrote is divided into three sections of seven chapters each. Take out your pocket calculator and you will find that these add up to a total of twenty-one chapters. 21 is the symbol for human maturity, or used to be, since at 21 you got the vote and assumed adult responsibility. Whatever its symbology...

...and when they were dived it didn’t matter that they had been friends for a long time. At that time all that mattered was that one was better than the other one. This lesson seemed to have a lasting impact on these children because when they met up later in life they talked about how they were teaching their children not to discriminate, and how they ignored people when they would get looks for talking and hanging out with a black person. It just shaped the way they would think for their lives. If they wouldn’t have been part of this experiment they may not have the same thoughts, but because they got to be up close and personal to segregation and discrimination they got to see what it was really like. When Jane Elliot did this experiment later on with the adults, they seemed to try to stand up a little bit more to her about how she was treating them. She separated the different eye colors again, and made the blue eyed people seem inferior to the brown-eyed people. Just in that little bit of time the brown-eyed people seem to turn on the blue-eyed people and agree with Elliot that they were slow and kind of stupid. The adults seemed to handle it a little bit differently than the kids did. They were a little more hostile towards Elliot. I think it made them realize that...

...Cherry. I was a bit nervous as we had initially gotten lost trying to find the church. Also, finding parking in downtown Mobile was extremely difficult. Standing outside of the chuch, I was nervous because we were five minutes late, and I wasn’t sure how they would respond to our tardiness. Walking into the church, I felt very uncomfortable as I felt extremely underdressed. We sat down at the back of the church. The service was very interesting. At first, it was a little bit difficult to follow along, but it became easier as the service went along. The service itself was similar to that of the Catholic church which I somewhat didn’t expect. The service had two readings and a sermon similar to that of the Catholic service. Personally, for me, it was a bit difficult understanding the sermon as the Pastor spoke extremely fast. What I found interesting was that women freely participated in the church. There was a female pastor that led some of the prayers. I met the pastor after the sermon. He was very nice and welcoming. All in all, I enjoyed the service, as I’ve never been to a Presbyterian church before. Catholic Church: St. Joseph’s Chapel I attended St. Joseph’s Chapel on September 30th 2012 at 11:00am. I went to the service with my roommate, Rebecca Perera. I was extremely comfortable attending this service because I am a Catholic, and I usually attend all Sunday masses at St. Joseph’s Chapel. The service was really enlightening as Father Ted spoke about the controversy...
