...www.afm-journal.de www.MaterialsViews.com FULL PAPER A Core-Shell Nanoporous Pt-Cu Catalyst with Tunable Composition and High Catalytic Activity Xingbo Ge, Luyang Chen, Jianli Kang, Takeshi Fujita, Akihiko Hirata, Wei Zhang, Jianhua Jiang, and Mingwei Chen* Pt catalyst loading.[1] It has been found that alloying Pt with transition metals (such as Ni, Co, Rh, Fe, etc) can effectively decrease the Pt loading by enhancing both the catalytic activity and utilization of Pt.[2–15] Experimental and theoretical investigations have suggested that Ptbased bimetallic catalysts with a thin Ptskin surface (even a Pt monolayer[16]) and a Pt-M (M = Ni, Co, Fe, etc.) core is an ideal structure for ORR because the modification of the d-band center of surface Pt atoms, caused by the underneath alloying effect, can enhance the catalysis.[17,18] Dealloying has been proved to be an effective approach for fabricating the core-shell structured bimetallic catalysts in the form of nanoparticles because the selective etching can remove the less-noble transition metals and naturally form a Pt passivated surface.[19–22] Compared to extensive studies of Pt-Ni,[13–15] Pt-Co,[6,12] Pt-Fe[9] bimetallic catalysts, the Pt-Cu system has not been paid too much attention, particularly, for the application as an advanced catalyst for ORR. This paper will analyze one of Poe's recurrent themes as his stories often explore the determination of man's most twisted minds. The underlying theme of perversity in Poe’s The Black Cat, is evident in several different instances and levels of intensity. The dark tale starts out normal enough…for Poe anyways. The narrator and his wife own several pets. Among them is large black cat named Pluto. Pluto become an adversary to the narrator after, one day, in a drunken rage, the narrator blinds Pluto in one eye, and then hangs the cat from a tree. Mysteriously, the house burns to the ground, leaving a silhouetted mark of a cat hanging from a gallows. Later, our narrator acquired another car eerily similar to Pluto. However, traditional methods cannot measure the ancient leaving rates, so a myriad of research attempting to provide explanations were met with unmatched magnitudes. In this paper we consider that the growth patterns on fossils could reflect the ancient Earth-Sun relationships. Through mechanical analysis of both the Earth-Sun and Earth-Moon systems, these patterns confirmed an increase in the Earth-Sun distance. With a large number of well-preserved specimens and new technology available, both the modern and ancient leaving rates could be measured with high precision, and it was found that the Earth has been leaving the Sun over the past 0.53 billion years. The Earth’s semi-major axis was 146 million kilometers at the beginning of the Phanerozoic Eon, equating to 97.6% of its current value.
