Process writing can explain how things work or it can give the directions to accomplish any task given. One wants to assume that ones audience will be able to follow the directions given to them in ones writing. The essay will also have to be clear so the reader will not get lost. Writers have to specify the materials that ones own readers will need so that they can be ready before starting the process. Making extra comments in the essay will help the audience visualize the process. One also needs to include what to not do like caution the readers. Kahn uses the rhetorical appeals, her story is also in process writing, and lastly she created a multimodal essay. Kahns’ purpose of “Stripped for Parts” was informative, because Kahn is explaining the process of an organ transplant happening in front of her eyes. Kahn uses the ethos appeal as in this example, “Someday, I’m convinced, transporting organs in coolers will seem as strange and outdated as putting a patient in an iron lung. Cause and effect writing are essays that are concerned with why things happen and what happens as a result.
