A hero doesn’t always have to do something amazing or out of the ordinary to be a superhero like superman. Heroism are acts of kindness, selflessness and bravery that aren’t always acknowledged.

Acts of kindness are heroism. It can be as small as donating a dollar to the homeless, lending someone a pencil, opening the door for someone or even helping someone pick up their stuff after it was dropped. Taking and stealing from someone is erroneous and isn't heroism. On the contrary it is when you give and expect nothing in return.

Acts of selflessness are also heroism. It’s not when you do things just for yourself or for your own gain. It is when you take concern in not only your own wishes but other’s wishes and help them achieve them. Or when you think not just of yourself but for other people.
