A Walk to Remember Summary A Walk to Remember is a teenage romantic movie about a “bad boy” falling in love with a smart young women. The bad boy is Landen Carter while the young woman is Jamie Sullivan. Landen has a group of friends that make fun of Jamie but, in the middle of the movie Landen falls in love with Jamie during a play. Let me start from the beginning of the movie. In the first part of the movie they have one of their new inductees “Walker” jumps from a stand about 50 feet from the air, he does a belly flop. When he hits the water he just floats there in the water and does not turn over for air. Then Landen climbs down from the stand and jumps in the water to help Walker to get him on dry land. Then the cops show up and all of them bail except for Landen helping walker to dry land. When Walker sees the cops he tells Landen that he could go and get out of here. So Landen leaves Walker on the wooden deck by the bug pond for the cops to find him. When Landen gets in his car he is being chased by cops while his friends get a clean getaway while Landen is trying to shake to cop off his tail. Landen takes a wide turn and crashes into a barrel of water and has crutches for his leg the next day.

The day Landen returns to school the principal calls Landen into his office. The principal says that he has to be in the play, tutor students, and clean the school or he will be expelled. While his friends don't get in trouble with the principal because, they were not caught with Landen.
When Landen stars in the play with Jamie. When Jamie Sings her song Landen kisses her on the lips and then Landen’s girlfriend gets jealous. A couple days after the play Landen’s girlfriend, Belinda makes a photo shop picture of her and says, “Virgin Mary?” After Jamie walks into the cafeteria they show her the picture of her and then all of the people in there start to laugh at her and the Landen walks into the cafeteria and comforts Jamie. When Landen sees the picture he walks to Dean and punches him in the face. Dean says that they are through and then calls him, “You chicken shit.” After Landen punches Dean, he runs after Jamie to bring her home.

After the incident Landen ask Jamie’s father, Reverend Sullivan to have dinner with her. They go to a fancy restaurant, after they eat Jamie ask Landen to dance but, Landen turns her down because Landen can't dance. After Jamie keeps on beginning Landen to dance then he gives in from peer pressure. After they dance Jamie tells Landen that she has a wish list. After the dinner Landen makes some of her wish list come true.

The first wish that Landen makes to come true is that she is in to places at one time. He puts her on the state line between Virginia and North Carolina. After that her second wish was the get a tattoo. In Landen’s car he puts on a butterfly tattoo on her left shoulder. Then she said that her wish that she must complete is that she wants to get married where men mother went to church in.

When they were walking in an alley Jamie says that she is sick, Landen offers to take her home then Jamie tells him that she has Leukemia. Landen and Jamie get in a big huge fight that puts their relationship in a hep of trouble. After there fight Landen goes to his dad's house to see if he can help Jamie out. But, his father said that he can't help her because he is only a cardiologist. But, after they cool off the next morning Landen puts a lot of flowers by her front door.

When Jamie see’s Landen making her telescope to see a comet that only comes around about every 100 years or so. When Reverend Sullivan, Jamie’s father goes in her room Jamie faints in his arms. She goes to the hospital and Landen is always by her side. A Walk to Remember

...A Walk to Remember The story is not about mental illness, but the mental and emotional state and how it affects families. Several of the emotional responses are happiness, love, sadness, and loss. One question to ask, “What makes more sense, listening to your head or listening to your heart?” A Walk to Remember is about a high school girl (Jamie) who has Leukemia and a boy (Landon) during his last year of high school will end with a walk that he will never forget. It will change his life mentally and emotionally. Jamie’s illness was not known about except by her father and herself. A Walk to Remember shows opposites, Landon and Jamie. Landon is a typical rebellious teenager whose social life is the “in crowd”. He was very popular with his peers in high school, but feels there is something missing in his life. Landon did not care about attending classes or even graduating. He was the handsome jock, although insecure and vulnerable. He was full of anger and hate for his father, who left his mother and himself when he was young. Jamie is a serious and conservative girl who knew right from wrong and what she wants out of life, setting goals for herself. Landon and his friends consider her a nerd. Jamie portrays a bible hugging, science fiction bookworm who wears the same sweater every day. What others feel about her does not matter. One unique thing about Jamie, she is incredibly friendly to everyone. She enjoys helping elders, visiting orphanages, tutor unfortunate children...

Directed by Adam Shankman, this movie tells the story of the school’s bad boy who pulls a prank gone wrong. In order for a boy to enter is gang, he must jump off of an industrial building into a shallow river, ending up in the hospital. This incident results in Landon having to do community service by tutoring and by being involved in the schools spring play which is where he encounters the serious and hardworking preachers daughter, Jamie. Landon can’t seem to get his memorization of the lines quite well and ends up asking Jamie for help, resulting in the beginning of their newfound love together. As time goes on and Landon spends more time with Jamie, he realizes that she is slowly changing him, but for the better. On the other hand, being with the innocent Christian girl of the school threatens his reputation of being the popular bad boy, yet his love for her cannot be stopped and their relationship flourishes. However, one secret that Jamie had kept hidden from Landon puts a bump in the road and is difficult to get around. Will this unraveled secret tear them apart or just make them stronger? A Walk To Remember will forever be a classic in my opinion because of its characters and the overall messages that are portrayed throughout the movie. Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter are...

A Walk to Remember Reflection

...1.) What salient point struck you most regarding the meaning of true love? True love means loving and accepting the person with all your heart. In right time and place, God will send you someone who you do not expect. It is true that you cannot choose who you are going to love and what qualities he/she should possessed. Two people may have individual differences, but these will bind them together and keep them stronger. You would become the best person you could ever be because of the person you love. Also, if you truly love someone, you will have respect and faith with one another. 2.) Cite situations in the film which reflects the element of true love. When Landon met and fell in love with Jaime, everything about Landon has changed. He became a better person because of Jaime. He stopped doing pranks to others with his naughty friends. He started to forgive and accept his father. He granted Jaime's wishes like getting a tattoo and marrying at the same church where her parents got married. He even saved Jaime from humiliation. In these situations, it is evident that true love will bring out the best in every person. Also, element of true love is reflected during the time when Landon discovered that Jaime is sick. Through ups and downs, he was always there for and never left Jaime. Even until the last days of Jaime, Landon did everything to express his unconditional love for her. He took care of her at the hospital, asked for his father's help for Jaime's sake, made...

The Sniper: A Narrative Fiction

...The raindrops were hitting the dead body as I walked away and calmly went to the place my dad told me to meet him at. The walk was ten minutes long and I had to go through alleys so I wouldn’t be seen. When I reached the diner I saw that it was made out of wood. When I open the door, it creaked for what seemed like an eternity. I say “No, my dad is right there” while pointing to a table in the back. “Oh, okay” I walk away first “Dad, I did it!” “Did you get seen?” “No” “Well good job. Anything you want” I look at the menu and see a picture of a good looking burger. I...

Peace

...Today I am writing on one the most treasure tools of my Christian walk, prayer. Most of us have experienced times of prayer either in the home or church. I remember prayers taught to me in childhood. I was taught to say my prayers regularly at bed time. As a child I was taught "Now I lay me down to sleep..." and the Lord's Prayer. I do not remember learning them; I just remember always knowing them. As I think of the ways I learned to pray, the most important teacher was the experience. My family did not have times of prayer together except at daily meals when grace was offered by my father. On Sundays when I went to church, I remember hearing long and boring prayers from the minister. As I recall, on no occasion was I taught about silent prayer, meditating, or the fact that I could have an individual relationship with God. Being a new Christian I found it a challenge to pray on a consistent basis. The first step in developing a life of prayer, was realizing that prayer was communicating with God. As I prayed There were times when sickness in the home or with close relatives caused me to prayer without ceasing. I didn’t realize at that time, that I was becoming an intercessor. Many times as a young Christian I served as my pastor’s driver and daily companion while rearing my children. There were times when she would be called upon to pray for the sick, at the church or at the hospital. This is where I learned the power of prayer. I can recall during times of pain...
