AP Calculus was the most difficult of all the classes. This class was a struggle to get through, but I was able to pull through. When most people first think of the term mathematics or the word “Calculus,” they don’t get too excited. Most people tend to say “I hate math!” or the big one, “When are we ever going to use it in our lives.” Calculus meant one needed to be prepared to keep up. There was no time to lose in this class. Struggling in class definitely made it harder to learn. I knew right then I had to do something in order to and get help so as not to be left behind.
My analysis as to why it was such a difficult subject would be the fact that I was not intellectually prepared to go into such convoluted math problems, though it was …show more content…
I also attended math, science program in my town that was offered on weekends at one of the community colleges. In the upward bound math, science program the teacher helped me with the classes I was struggling in and with assignments that I was having difficulty completing. This was one of the situations that taught me that I am not a quitter because as I saw most of the students in the class dropping out or giving up on their grades I chose to try harder and find other ways to make sure that I passed the class. This course also taught me to be very attentive in all of my classes because you never know when something that you learned in a previous class, will appear again. The final most important lesson I learned about myself was that even though I get completely stuck in a situation and have no clue as to how to solve a problem, I will do my best to find a solution. Honestly, even though calculus was the hardest class that I have taken in my life. I still believe no matter how hard or easy something is there will always be a lesson to be learned from it.
