Introduction
Ethical issues emerge as early as the time of the study design. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) is a required design strategy to reduce unwanted differences across comparison conditions (Kendall & Suveg, 2008). Furthermore, that does not mean that all RCTs exclude those with a form of psychopathology just to have a ‘pure’ sample (Kendall & Suveg, 2008). RCTs are treated as the gold standards for showing treatment efficacy and safety (Hoop et al. 2008). In addition, the relationship between a mentor and mentee can be a complex one. Furthermore, good communication throughout the preparation of a dissertation it is important to avoid setbacks. In this ethical analysis, we will discuss the APA Ethics Violations, we will evaluate …show more content…
The first violation we will address is Standard 8.10 (a): Reporting Research Results (APA, 2010). The Standard dictates that “psychologist do not fabricate data” (APA, 2010). If the psychologists manipulate their data, they are misleading their colleagues and potentially delaying the process in their fields. Zoe’s and Aaron’s obligation was to present the findings of the RCT. However, when Zoe suggested to drop two anomalous data points near the horizontal axis it caused the findings to change from statistically non-significant to significant, resulting in a manipulation of the results. Even more, before making any changes, Aaron should have consulted with the principal investigator, in this case, Dr. Goode, and see what options he advises. In addition to violating Standard 8.10 (a), they also violated Principle C: Integrity (APA, 2010), for it states that psychologist do not steal nor engage in …show more content…
Having a personal relationship with the mentor may result in a Conflict of Interest (Standard 3.06. APA, 2010). Dr. Goode in addition to being Aaron’s mentor he was also his employer. Having a multi-relationship with his mentor, caused Aaron entered in a scenario of conflict of responsibilities as well. Aaron got to know his mentor on a more personal level, while he was babysitting his children, therefore, for what we can see in the case, that personal level made him more comfortable to accept the arrangements that otherwise, he might not have

Report Publications

...It is important that the title be both brief and descriptive of your research. Search engines will use the title to help locate your article. Readers make quick decisions as to whether they are going to invest the time to read your article largely based on the title. Thus, the title should not contain jargon or vernacular. Rather, the title should be short (generally 15 words or less) and clearly indicate what the study is about. If in doubt, try to specify the cause and effect relationship in your key point. Avoid trite and wasteful phrases such as "A study of ..." or "An investigation to determine ..." Abstract: The abstract serves two major purposes: it helps a person decide whether to read the paper, and it provides the reader with a framework for understanding the paper if they  decide to read it. Thus, your abstract should describe the most important aspects of the study within the word-limit provided by the journal. As appropriate for your research, try to include a statement of the problem, the people you studied, the dependent and independent variables, the instruments, the design, major findings, and conclusions. If pressed for space, concentrate on the problem and, especially, your findings. Introduction: You will usually start your report with a paragraph or two presenting the investigated problem, the importance of the study, and an overview of your research strategy. You do not need to label this section. Its position within the paper makes that obvious....

Your resultant written paper should be 500 words, double-spaced and in APA or other approved DeVry-Keller format/style. Your primary text must be used as a reference to support your analysis/summary paper. As CEO of a 100 bed hospital in rural Alabama, I have to step in resolve a dilemma with a newly hired pharmacist who refuses to dispense emergency contraception based upon moral/religious grounds. Emergency contraceptive is similar to birth control, it is just a higher dosage taken up to seventy-two hours after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy, it is not a form of abortion, since no conception has yet taken place. Emergency contraceptives is controversial because many Christians, especially Catholics, believe that life begins at conception; in their eyes, preventing implantation is morally equivalent to abortion. The newly hired pharmacists refuses to dispense this medication based up religious and moral grounds and is protected by two laws. Under United States law and practice a person who objects on grounds of conscience or religious belief to performing certain acts has considerable protections, forcing someone to perform an act forbidden by religion would be a violation of ethical and human rights, this is known as a conscience clause (Levine). Such statute protects employees who refuse to perform abortion and other contested procedures from firing or demotion...

Spirituality in Counseling

...spirituality in client’s session and counselor’s attitudes toward a client’s faith based on the assumption that the client’s faith and the counselor’s attitude can have significant impact on the outcome of the treatment of the client. A counselor’s willingness to attend to faith as a means of growth can build rapport and lessen potential resistance with clients who are religious (Worthington, 1989). Spirituality in Counseling: Integrating Religion and Spirituality Spirituality has become increasingly important in counseling and prayer has become the spiritual intervention of choice for Christian counselors, as well as secular counselors. The controversial nature of including prayer in counseling requires much consideration on the grounds of ethical boundaries. Majority of mental health professionals who claim a type of religious affiliation, believe spirituality is relevant in their client’s well-being and value the outcomes of prayer (Bergin & Jensen, 1990). Secular counselors incorporate religion into their practices believing that praying for a client is beneficial to the client if the client so desires. There are some circumstances that might run counter to...
