...The Mystery Behind the Spiritual Alien Agenda Beryl King 12 March 2012 The Search for Earth-like Planets December 5, 2011 must have been an exciting day for astronomers all over the world as NASA announced to the public the discovery of an Earth-like planet potentially able to support life. The planet, 2.4 times the size of the Earth, is six hundred light-years away in what astronomers call the “Goldilocks Zone”, an area in which a planet has an ideal temperature because of its distance from a star. It orbits around a star similar to the sun of the Earth, and the temperature of its surface is habitable at 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Scientists are hopeful that this planet might possess water and land, but they are not sure as of the moment if the majority of it is made up of solid, liquid or gas (Bloxham). Kepler 22-b is just one of the extrasolar planets observed by NASA that has a probability to be inhabited by extraterrestrial life forms. Since 1960, NASA has funded different exobiology projects, including Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI), in hopes that astronomers can find evidences of life in outer space. Thinking that extraterrestrials would likely leave something behind to signal other intelligent beings during their exploration, astronomers of SETI previously tried to detect interstellar probes to be able send messages back to them, but until now, none have been discovered. Despite this, scientists working on SETI have not given up, focusing more on...

...really seeing something from another world? In the article “Extraterrestrial encounters: UFOs,” Alexander Geppert, an Emmy Noether Research Group Director at Freie Universitat Berlin, contends that people throughout the country and around the whole world have seen UFOs. The size of the UFOs seen can vary from eyewitness to eyewitness. The first UFO sighting occurred on June 24, 1947. While flying his plane, pilot Kenneth Arnold reported seeing nine objects, glowing bright blue-white, flying in formation over Washington State’s Mount Rainier. After the Arnold sighting, a “reputed” UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico occurred on July 8, 1947; this crash is known as the Roswell incident. Reported UFO sightings in Great Britain, North America, Japan and Eastern Europe, all within weeks of each other, showed a global phenomenon. People refer to these sighting as the “First Waves” of UFOs. Immediately following these encounters from 1947 to 1953, UFOs invaded popular culture; they were everywhere from movies to music. Movies portrayed UFOs as flying discs and aliens were pictured with small bodies, huge heads and big eyes. According to Geppert, “Science continue[d] to struggle: Are we alone in the universe? Some believed that, in the future-saturated Space Age, the age-long wait for an answer had finally come to an end. At last, ‘they’ were here” (335-353). In analyzing the situation,...

...Debbie said. "While she was putting tape on me, Matthew told me if I screamed or acted stupid, he'd shoot me. So I just stayed quiet”...” Debbie said her captors drove her around the streets of Phoenix for hours. Exhausted and confused, she was finally taken to an apartment 25 miles from her home. She said one of her captors put a gun to her head”…” Debbie said she was then drugged by her captors and other men were brought into the room, where she was gang raped.” (Teen Girls’ Stories of Sex Trafficking in U.S.). Many Americans hear stories all the time of abduction and sexual slavery all around the world. They feel like something should be done about this injustice but since the acts are happening outside the country they feel disconnected. Unfortunately, most Americans are not as far from this problem as they would like to believe. Sex trafficking happens at an alarming rate in America. Between the years 1996-2000, America had the highest number of victims trafficked illegally into the country (Cullen-Dupont 44). With this high level of trafficking going on, why are many Americans unaware of this issue? They most likely believe that only foreign victims are trafficked into slavery, but the Texas Attorney General states that an epidemic exists of domestic women being forced into sexual slavery as well (Bellows 489). Debbie was an American born citizen and she was kidnapped at the age of fifteen off her own driveway. A casual friend called Debbie to meet up and when she arrived...

...to come over here to Money, Mississippi. Emmett was a classic prankster, so his friends dared him to “wolf-whistle” at Miss Bryant. This is the minor event that lead to the incident that happened that night August 28th after midnight. Those men, Roy Bryant and JW Milan banged consistently on the door of Till’s uncles home and bombarded into their house, grabbing Emmett and kidnapping him away to a place only they knew. ABDUCTION, is what it is. They drove far out into the plantations in Sun Flower county, only to beat him repeatedly into an unrecognizable condition whilst having seventy fie pounds of cotton gin tied around his neck held together by pieces of barbed wire. After being severely beaten where he was crying out for help only to be faced with the reality that nobody was going to hear him. They did not want to heard Till’s cries anymore so right then and there they ended it. They ended his life with a gun shot, ending him from his suffering and ending his life. These men should be convicted of murder! They need to be found guilty on accounts of abduction, battery and murder! These men are a danger to our society, if we let them free, we are putting our country and our people in danger. Men like these need to be secluded from society. How are we going to allow these men walk away free and let them enter society? These men ABDUCTED a young joke over a petty joke that was not meant to be took to such extent. This “joke” could have been handled in a much different matter...

...The two art periods that I chose are Baroque and Impressionism. Baroque art refers to the style that would be found in Europe and North and South America during the 17th and 18th century. The Catholic Church heavily influenced their art, as well as the Protestant rising up during this time. There was an emphasis on unity and harmony in all of the visual arts that often had themes from the Bible or stories. There was realism and more attention was paid to physical details in portrait paintings, there was more light contrast, landscapes were more expansive and there was use of more deep, rich colors. In architecture there were structures that expressed humans longing for spirituality and there was extreme presentation and in the grand scale it was reflected theatrically (Mindedge, 2013). In the Baroque period the art would depict a play, that it was not just a picture but every figure would have meaning, the art was meant to be read just not looked at as decoration. Figures would be drawn with realism, they have depth in the art, and they are almost falling off the page. They used dark shades and lights to show realism in their paintings. This was brought on with the further discovery of how our universe was formed, how we are not the center of the universe and also with that discovery, we discovered that Europe is not the middle of the Earth as well. Each painting had a story, told about us, about real people and there was more realism than before. Sculptures were made to...

...Menzel was trotted out to tell the world that it was all hysteria, that UFO’s were not real. What is USAP? It is a top secret, compartmentalized project requiring special access even for those with a top secret clearance, and it is unacknowledged. Really secret stuff was kept from even a man who was head of M15 and MoD. By overwhelming the sound of actual ET events, the noise became of stimulated ones of an increasingly, implausible nature. The wilder and more absurd the scenarios are which are fed to victims of human convert abductions, the more the general scientific and media communities knew the entire field as so much nonsense. Certain adept humans can manifest abilities which are extremely similar to both extraterrestrial and ‘astral’ beings. People with classic ET abductions experiences who undergo hypnotic regression may subconsciously fill in details, especially to please a hypnotist with strong bias towards retrieving alleged memories of ET abductions. Human covert programs designed to confuse, mislead, and deceive society on the ET question. Military members have confirmed to us that psycho-electronic technologies exist, off the shelf, which can target an individual or group and remotely make them have a personal conversation with their...

...INTRODUCTION In the summer of 1587, exploration and expansion to the Americas was thriving. The Roanoke Colony (ROH--nohk) was no exception to this. It was an effort commissioned by Sir Walter Raleigh, led by Governor Ralph Lane, and a group of around 115 other English settlers to found the first permanent American colony in the Americas. But it wasn’t how they stayed in the Americas that was significant — it was how they didn’t. THE VOYAGE The settlement was meant to be resupplied every year, yet it still lacked numerous supplies. Sir Francis Drake promised them new resources and a ship, but the vessel was destroyed in a hurricane. Lane, however begrudgingly, was forced to temporarily retreat to England and request material. Upon return,...

...The Death of Emmett Till Beginning in the 1950’s African Americans began to form civil rights groups in order to end segregation and fight for equality. Many things contributed to this, but the death of Emmett Till is what many would consider the spark that ignited the flame for the Civil Rights Movement. The brutality of his murder changed the way that racism was viewed throughout the nation. Emmett was born July 25th, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to mother Mamie Carthan and father Louis Till. At the age of six Emmett was stricken with polio, despite a full recovery; he was left with a stutter that would follow him throughout the rest of his life. In spite of his stutter, Emmett was known for being a prankster and the center of attention amongst his peers while attending McCosh Grammer School. Although McCosh was an all-black school, the severity of racism in Chicago was far less than that in the south; allowing Emmett to have white friends as well. (Networks) In August of 1955, Emmett’s Uncle Moses came up from Mississippi to visit. Emmett heard stories from his uncle about the south and at the end of his stay, inquisitive of the validity, Emmett pleaded with his mother to travel back with his uncle to Mississippi. (Crowe 44) Little did she know that those last few days before their trip down south would be the last time she would see Emmett alive. (Crowe 47) A few days after arriving in Mississippi, Emmett found himself outside of Bryant’s Grocery and Meat Market, owned...

Currently, there is the newest version of the Amber Alert System which uses the internet as another outreach from the media which will alert the public when an abduction of a child occurs. ...Johnathan Melicia Thomas Riddle Eng. 111 July 2, 2015 Free Range Parenting In the article “ There’s Never Been a Safer Time to be a Kid in America,” by Christopher Ingraham, spring folds the spotlight parents are put on about letting their kids have free range while being unsupervised or having to be by their side while the child is wanting to go somewhere just down the road. This has parents contemplating on letting their child be alone even though there really is no reason to be dwelling over the worst that can happen. Marc Elrich, chairman of the Montgomery County Council’s Public Safety Committee, refers to Ingraham by stating “walked more than a mile on his own to school” and baffled that “All of our parents would have been in jail” if there was a problem with letting your kids walk safely down the road. Thus persuading the fact that kids should be able to be unsupervised because it is safer than it used to be; for example, child mortality rates have decreased, abduction rates have dropped, and children pedestrians being struck in traffic had fallen tremendously. The importance of imagery in this article is used to give the audience a sense of direction in order to see Ingraham’s point of view. He gives a clear analogy of how two siblings, 6 and 10, were walking home when they got picked up by the police and detain them in the car for three hours. Ingraham uses the words “searching for you frantically” to give the audience an image of what the parents would be doing...
