SHOULD ABORTION BE LEGAL Abortion is defined as the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to viability. I do not support abortions but it is a woman’s right to choose what she does to her body. The choice of whether or not to abort her unborn child is mainly her decision, same as if she decide to give birth to her child there is nothing anyone else can say to make her think other wise.
Each year nearly 1.2 million American women have an abortion to end a pregnancy. The most common reasons women consider abortion are: Birth control (contraceptive) failure, unable to support or take care of a child, to end an unwanted pregnancy, to prevent the birth of a child with birth defects or severe medical problems, pregnancy resulting from rape or incest, and physical or mental conditions that endanger the woman’s health if the pregnancy is continued. In the United States 9 out of 10 abortions are performed in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Very few abortions are done after 16 weeks of pregnancy, this is likely to happen if the woman have trouble with paying for it, and finding or traveling to abortion specialist.
Abortion became legal in the United States because during the 1960's and early 1970's, the United States began to repeal their bans on abortion. In Roe v. Wade (1973), the United
States Supreme Court stated that abortion bans were unconstitutional in every state, making it legal to have an abortion in the United States. Also, in this case the answer came down to one of personal rights versus legitimate government interest. The government has a legitimate interest in protecting the life of an embryo or fetus, but embryos and fetuses do not have rights themselves unless and until it can be determined that they are human.
There is also the question as to whether

...Critical Play Analysis: A Raisin in the Sun 1. Thought/Theme/Ideas When reading a play, it is often difficult to obtain understanding and describe the theme. This particular play, A Raisin in the Sun, allowed for the meaning of the play to be conveyed through the characters. After completing the read, the play seemed to reveal that family is most important in life. In all of the stresses and events that take place within each person’s life, it is hard to become side-tracked on the family aspect of life. Throughout this play, money seemed to be the struggling conflict; the husband of Lena passed away and money was left over for the family. With the Youngers being a lower income family they were wanting to utilize the money for different purposes. Their lives are quite difficult in addition to them living a neighborhood that is experiencing some racial issues. Lena, the mother, was watering her plant everyday in hopes that it would prosper into something (pg. 28) By doing so, it showed that she was determined and committed to dreams and aspirations while the rest of the family were in conflict over the use of the 10K. While money is important in the everyday activities of life, it is not the most important aspect. If one does not have anyone to share the experience with, what is the use of the money. It would be best to let the money decide its purpose on its own (bills) rather than having everyone else deciding it individually; relationships can be destroyed that...

Single Parents in Uk

...Introduction There are 1,250,000 lone-parent families in the UK, and 19 percent of all these families have children(Millar, 1999). The quantity of single parents have almost increased two-fold since early 1970s and this growth is part of widest patterns of change in family structure. Here are so many reasons for this, for example, the rising in extramarital births, the increasing in cohabitation, the rising in the divorce, and the rising of remarriage and cohabitation after divorce. (Millar, 1999). In 2000, it may be that less than 50% of all children in the United Kingdom will have spent all their lives in a traditional two parents family with both their real parents (Kiernan & Wicks, 1990 cited Millar, 1996). The essay will analyse several of the main factors which have affected the changing of the lone mothers families in the UK. And both the troubles and fortunes that received by lone mothers. There are three main parts to explain the changing of lone parents families in Britain: the changing policy; the ascending economy; the changing sociology ( social value). The Three Main Factors—Policy, Economy, and Sociology, for the Increasing of the Lone Mothers Families in the United Kingdom Since 1971 to 1990 the number of divorced and seperated female with children increased from 290,000 to 650,000; the quantity of single mother rose from 90,000 to 390,000. The numbers of lone fathers have also raised from 70,000 to 110,000, but they still very much in the small number ,at nearly...
