...August 2015 About Me While I was growing up, I would watch college softball on TV with my dad almost every day. Usually once or twice a week we would go to the field, throw a ball, and hit around. I’ve loved it ever since. I play softball here at Limestone College, therefore I am crazy athletic. During high school I was lucky to win MVP on the softball team all 4 years of attending my high school. All kinds of sports interests me really. I currently work at Strawberry Hill USA in Chesnee, South Carolina as an Ice Cream Scooper. Trust me I’m not complaining, we get free ice cream! My favorite subject in school is math, and following would have to be science. I hope to major in Health Care Administration and minor in Business Administration. I am a very energetic and outgoing person. I like to have a good time when I’m involved in any kind of activity; you’ll very rarely see me in a bad mood. I like to live on edge, such as going camping in extravagant places, get spontaneous tattoos and piercings, and even cliff jumping. I hope to go sky diving very soon. My family is very important to me; they’re always there for me when I need them. I’m a very creative person; so writing off the top of my head comes easy to me. When it comes to more research based papers, I do tend to struggle with citing my references properly. I like writing analytical papers about fiction based stories or short narratives that interest me. Usually, if I don’t like...

...am 26 years old. I live in Lebanon New Hampshire. I am originally from Ardmore OK. I lived there till I was about four years old. My mother moved us to Vermont to take care of my grandmother and grandfather. My mother then married a man who adopted me when I was seven years old. In second grade I had a teacher who saw me asking for help on a spelling test and said it was cheating and told my parents he was going to hold me back a grade. He said I was slow and needed special help. My parent thought it would be a good idea to put me in Justin Morgan Christian School. They did not have the best learning program in that school. We sat in a cubby all day long looking at the wall. When we had a question we had to put an American flag on the top of the cubby. For the bathroom we put up the Christian flag. We worked in what they called “paces” You worked in them all day long they had a book for math, science, English, and so on. Each year you went up in a “pace book” the higher you got in school. That kind of learning did not work for me. So at the end of my sixth grade year I asked my parents if I could go to a Public School. So in 7th grade I went to a high school in my home town. I was so far behind when I got in class I didn’t know how to really do anything in my classes my first year, so when I went to 8th grade they put me in all special classes. I was really hard for me to have to go to a one on one class room when my friends and class mates went to regular classes. I graduated...

You have to have big dreams in life; I just don’t want to be like my family. 1) I want to get my degree to become a doctor 2) Start a nonprofit organization for people like me 3) Where I hope to see myself ten years from now IV. Body Paragraph #3 1) Where I see myself now 2) How I feel about I have accomplished 3) What do I think I can improve on V. Conclusion I was told never to judge a book by its cover; I always get the big picture first. I never would have thought the story of my life would even begin like this. I have always pictured my life in a different way with happy memories from birth to the present, but if that’s how it happens then that would not be my life. In this paper I will present a brief description of my life experiences both good and bad that helped shape me into the person I am today and I will analyze some of them with the adult development theories. My story begins in the hospital with my birth. I had many problems before I was even born into the world. I had to have open heart surgery when I was born because I was not breathing, it was said that I suffered multiple heart attacks in the womb. The doctors told my mom that I might not live pass birth, but here I am at 22 to tell you my story. When I able to go home after observation, after the first surgery, soon as my mom took me home I stop...

...“Learning About Myself” Cindy Radford Nursing Analysis, NUR 2430 Ms. Phyllis Hosey November 22, 2011 “Learning About Myself” In developing ideas for this paper, I have learned a lot about myself. I have learned that I am a lot more complex than I originally thought. I have a multitude of strengths and weaknesses and I think I could make a positive impact on the nursing world after graduation. I am in the process now of learning how to use my strengths for greater good and turn my weaknesses into something positive that I can use to build on. In order to discuss some of my strengths and weaknesses, I have to first tell you about why I wanted to become a nurse. When I was growing up, I had a bit of a rocky childhood. I was bounced between parents a lot and moved so much it was hard to make, and keep, friends. At the age of five, I was left at my grandparent’s home for the weekend by a mother that never came back for me. She left the country and left me behind. From that point on, I was raised by my grandmother and grandfather. They were wonderful to me! They saw to it that I was raised with manners and instilled in me that education was very important. I always knew they chose to raise me and that made them very special in my life. I worked my entire life to be able to do for them like they had for me over the years and when I was 25 years old, I got the chance. My grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. His health deteriorated quickly and I...

...I came into this class this semester knowing that I wanted to pursue a career in social work. And, I am proud to say that I have ended this semester with the same mindset. This class encouraged those who had yet to declare a major to do so by having the different colleges within the University come and present to the class. Although, I have declared a major I found all the different presentations to be helpful. The class overall helped encourage me to be a better student and to set goals that were attainable in order to be that successful student. My freshman year, I found it very hard to adapt to the workload. I found myself struggling to balance everything as far as work, school, and social life. Everything seemed to take a turn for the worst when I was dismissed for a semester, which was very hard to accept. Although, I was sad to be dismissed it helped me grow as a student. I still struggle today but now I do not hesitate to seek help from my advisor or mentor. A few barriers that I still struggle with today are time management and procrastination like most. I usually try to organize myself but at times it just seems impossible. Lately, I have been using an agenda to help keep myself organized and it has been of major help. Next Year, I plan to make the appropriate changes to better myself as student. In this paper we were asked to identify 3 different long-term goals and short terms goals that help build up the goal and make it attainable. My first, goal as a junior...

...Analysis: “Late Wife” by Claudia Emerson “Late Wife” by Claudia Emerson is a book that contains a collection of poems focused on her struggle with being divorced, and starting a new life by herself. The book is separated in three parts: Divorce Epistles, Breaking up the House, and Late Wife, and each section shows Claudia dealing with a new problem. The separation of the poems made it easy to identify the theme patterns found in the collection. For every chapter there was theme to be centered around, it also helped that collection was in chronological order and in narrative writing, for the book starts by retelling the sadness on her mind when she was going through her divorce, then she makes a quick summary of her single life, and ends it with the struggle of being the second wife of a man who recently lost his wife. At the end, she admits that she finds happiness, but that her journey to be happy was rough yet worth it. The first section is “Divorce Epistles” and the theme of it is divorce. This chapter starts by showing the reader some flashbacks of how her marriage was like before the divorce and then it ends by showing what she did right afterwards. The first poem is “Aftermath” (5) and it is her reflection of her divorce she admits that she knew it was going to happen eventually. In these lines, “I confess that last house was the coldest I kept. In it, I became formless as fog, crossing / the walls, formless as your breath as it rose” (8), she was being ignored by her...

...sometimes in the whole cohort. My classmates were envious of my results, but it didn’t last long. As I grow older, I got exposed to things like computer gaming and console gaming. I started spending more and more time on gaming then studying and lead to the plunge in my results. Had a borderline result for my PSLE result. Went to secondary school, was still addicted to gaming. But at that time, I was enthusiastic about my CCA back then, Badminton. I could say that I spend more time on the Badminton court than anywhere else. We had training thrice a week, and even sparring sessions on Saturdays. My normal weekday routine would be to go for lessons, training, back home and gaming. So I wasn’t really spending my time wisely for the gaming part. Which I seriously neglected my studies then. My results were borderline throughout my whole secondary education period, still manage to get a Polytechnic to pursue my diploma. Enrolled into Nanyang Polytechnic, taking Electronics, Computer & Communication course. The name make it seems complicated, but that’s the thing that lead me to choose this course. Made a group of close friends within the first week of school. During test and exam periods, we will get together and do some revision to help with each other and clear our doubts. We all did quite well for the first test. Then comes the Semester Exam, where I made a stupid mistake. I was working as a promoter back then, so they were asking for manpower to work on a certain period and I...

...I'm Reece, people don't ever really miss me. I'm never the first person anyone looks for in a crowded room. I'm just me. take it or leave it. I'm not all that confident. I know I am not smart. I read people much better than books. I never have the words to explain my feelings. I'm only as funny as I feel. and I do not think I'm pretty. I tend to think up convocations in my head before even having them and get annoyed when they don’t go how I planned. I sometimes walk with my head down. I think horrible things about people. I'm not as nice as I'd like to be or as innocent as you'd think I am. I mostly speak before thinking. I confuse myself more times then what I do speak. I'm a big dreamer with little motivation. I'm really bad at making choices for myself. I am really no good at all on my own. and I don't understand how anyone could ever be the same. I hate being alone, but sometimes it feels like that’s all I am (lonely) People seem to hear what I have to say but never really listen. I find my mind to be a beautiful thing but then again it can drive me crazy. I never was good enough like I was disappointing people in anything I did or said. I have never completed anything big in my life, I think that it will be forgotten once I do it so what's the point. I think more about my past or future then what I do living in the moment. I fear things more then what I would lead on. I feel the need to make things perfect but after trying for so long I don’t...

...The process piece I chose to revise was my About Me page. Due to the relatively small length of the piece (two paragraphs), especially in comparison to longer papers like the Familiar Genre Analysis (four pages), doing a momentous amount of revisions is unpractical. However, the changes I did make significantly altered the piece. To start off, I made some corrections to various middle and lower order concerns, like grammar (added “am” before “from” in the first sentence) and transitions (first sentence of second paragraph links the two, creating flow that was previously absent). After that, I focused on these, more important higher order concerns: audience, pathos and genre conventions. Previously, the reference to the audience for my blog was vague and practically missing. By adding the fact that “one of the primary uses of this blog is for my English 1020 class at Wayne State University,” I was able to hone in on my prospective audience: my professor and fellow classmates. Next, I added in more details about myself to help the reader feel better connected to me. By stating where I lived through my life and what country I identity myself as being from, as well as one of my biggest goals in life, I am allowing future readers to know me and my writing, not just the latter. Finally, I attempted to improve my use of genre conventions. About Me pages typically include a reason why the writer started a blog, so I included that. Also, I tried to be more interactive with my readers...

His name is Ulan. Hi is 30 years old. We are very close to each other, although he is four years older than I am. Unfortunately, he is not here with us right know, because according to the US law, children over 21 years old are not eligible for the green- card, so he stayed in Kazahstan. I and my mother came to the United States four years ago. We live together in Brooklyn. She is very strong and good person. She is the one who influenced me to go to the college. And here I'm at the LaGuardia Community College today, majoring in Paralegal studies. This is my third semester here. Now I feel more confident about myself, because I passed all courses that I have been taking and received good grades and try to do my best to keep doing it. I'm a very honest and friendly person. ...fueling my enthusiasm in exploring the world of Psychology. In my second year at this association, I was elected the President and successfully held more than twenty events to promote knowledge about Psychology among my fellow students: carrying out workshops such as student mentoring for roughly 20% of all Grade 11 students; inviting professors to give lectures about sensory memory, childhood amnesia, and cognition for all psychology enthusiasts; holding discussion groups to analyze Psychology related movies or books such as 'The Interpretation of Dreams' and so on. Holding a variety of Psychology-related activities has not only helped develop my organizational and time management skills, but has also equipped me with an initial understanding of human nature and behaviors. Gradually, I started to consider choosing Psychology as my major at university. Since then, I have been seeking knowledge about Psychology whenever and wherever possible. Research about issues in Psychology has extended my exposure. In my daily life, I have been following news and updates on the Internet or in magazines on a monthly basis, and I am always keen on speaking to experienced professionals or supervisors who are already engaged in Psychology. They all have given me good advice about insightful perspectives about applying Psychology in a career, and these discussions later inspired my aspiration of undertaking Music Therapy as the extension of my undergraduate programme. Furthermore, taking subjects...

...S O CIAL SEC U RIT Y | AN N U AL RE P O R T 2006- 2007 Chapter-6 SOCIAL SECURITY INTRODUCTION 6.1 The Social Security schemes in India cover only a small segment of the organized work force, which may be defined as workers who are having a direct regular employer-employee relationship within an organization. The social security legislation in India derives their strength and spirit from the Directive Principles of the State Policy as contained in the Constitution of India. These provide for mandatory social security benefits either solely at the cost of the employers or on the basis of joint contribution of the employers and the employees. While protective entitlements accrue to the employees, the responsibilities for compliance largely rest with the employers. SOCIAL SECURITY LAWS 6.2 The principal social security laws enacted in India are the following: • • The Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 The Employees’ Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 (Separate provident fund legislations exist for workers employed in Coal mines and tea plantations in the state of Assam and for seamen). The Workmen’s Compensation Act, 1923 The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 The Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 OF SOCIAL the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 are administered by the Central Government through the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), whereas the State Governments and Union Territory Administrations are administering medical care under the Employees’...
