I also searched the same topic using the popular search engine, Google. I used the key the words “evidence-based” and “nursing” for each search. The articles on CINHAL Plus with full text and Academic Search Complete are peer reviewed, written and edited by professionals, for health care professions, and not for the lay person (Schmidt & Brown, 2012). The articles were specific to the key words entered. With the medical terminology used, these articles would be very difficult for a lay person to read. When I searched using Google I came up with thousands of results. Many of the suggestions were not at all what I intended and some just gave abstracts and not full texts. Not all of these websites were from a credible source or written by credentialed authors. I would advise the lay person to be cautious on which sites they visit.
