...I first became involved in the Accounting Association Spring of 2010. I then pledged for the Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) organization and was initiated fall of 2010. I have been an active member since then and became BAP Membership chair spring of 2011. Becoming BAP membership chair is a privilege to me because I get to be the “welcoming person” to our organization. I am a good candidate for this position because I am friendly and very easy to get along with. Being a part of BAP is a wonderful experience. This organization creates many networking opportunities and great friendships as well. The Accounting Association and Beta Alpha Psi are a great part of the college experience and I am exceptionally glad that I decided to join. Hopefully I am having that same affect on other students who are pledging BAP. It makes college much more fun and beneficial having friends who are also in the same class. I am glad I became an active member of BAP and hope to branch this success off to others. I hope to become involved in many more activities over the entire campus so that I may broaden my experience and create more friendships. ...ween Essays and Research Papers Not all writing assignments are created equal. We’re sure this is something that students around the world have discovered – the hard way. It almost seems purposefully unfair. One type of writing is difficult enough, but teachers want to throw all different writing brands, styles and formats into the mix. You’ve got APA paper, term papers, research papers, standard essays, reports, etc. Amidst all these writing assignments, two stand out as the most commonly assigned. Essays and research papers are, above all, the biggest and most common headache for students. However, understanding the crucial differences between these two assignments may help students to tackle them better in the future. What is an Essay? ...Careers Microcomputer Accounting II April 8, 2011 Find Out About Yourself I took the Career Interest Game. The three categories I selected were Conventional, Realistic, and Investigative which makes me CRI. My first choice was the Conventional otherwise known as “The Organizers.” I can relate to most of the list under the “Are You?” category. I am well organized, accurate, and efficient in most everything I set out to accomplish. I like things to be structured and organized. I always try to be polite but yet persistent in every task I pursue. I am practical and orderly and I like working with numbers. The methodical, thrifty and ambitious are probably the ones I do not agree pertain to me as a person. I agree with everything listed under the “Can You?” category since I do work with a lot of paperwork in a short period of time. My current position requires me to constantly work on a computer terminal and keep accurate records. I am also required to write business correspondence often and work in a team setting as well as individually. My job requires me to follow certain procedures and pay attention to detail. There is also a great deal of typing and data entry involved in my daily tasks. I also have to collect information and organize it in a specific manner. My work revolves around numbers and currency figures. The only thing on the list that I do not agree with is shorthand; I never took a class for it nor have I ever used it. Under the Conventional category...

...Admissions Essay Booker T. Washington said “Nothing ever comes to one that is worth having except as a result of hard work.” I have found this to be true in most aspects of my life, for all of my growth and success has come as a result of determination and perseverance. While I have experienced failures and hardships, these experiences taught me the most valuable lessons, making me a stronger person and building the character which drives the individual I am today. I was raised in a small country town and participated in rodeo and many different sports growing up. My parents taught me that it takes hard work and dedication to be successful. They pushed me to follow my dreams from a young age which has carried over into my adulthood. Their guidance and belief in me gave me the strength to believe in myself, which I consider to be the main reason I have experienced so much success in my life thus far. I loved playing all sports, but developed a passion for softball during my high school career. I put in many hours practicing and playing every week to become the best teammate, pitcher, and leader I could be. I accepted an academic and softball scholarship to CBU upon graduating and received the honors of All-Conference and All-Academic team during my freshman year. Although I received many accolades during my sports career, it was the teamwork skills and leadership abilities I developed that have had the largest benefit in my life and have definitely carried over into my...

...Joel Barker's pithy saying, "Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world!" distinguishes an entrepreneur from others. An entrepreneur acts to bring visions to reality. I have longed to be one and have learnt from my reading that modern entrepreneurs have all worked to use technology for the betterment of our lives. Therefore, I decided long ago to study engineering and did not miss any opportunities to learn how the machines in our everyday life worked. In my school days, I used to listen to audio cassettes on a tape recorder. When I learnt the difference between mono and stereo recording, I thought of converting two mono recorded audio cassettes into a single stereo cassette, recorded in mono mode using the cassette's LEFT and RIGHT channels as a separate channels, to be heard in sequence, not together. To my delight, the idea worked and resulted in compacting two cassettes into a single mono cassette. With good scores in the science subjects, I could choose the engineering stream to take up for Bachelors. I chose Electronics & Telecommunication, because of its wide, interdisciplinary span and the ever increasing use of electronics in every branch of modern science, from Astrophysics to Medicine. It is a field rich with opportunities for an entrepreneur. The curriculum of University of Pune introduced me to the basics of several subjects, such as Digital Signal Processing, Integrated Circuit...

Accounting is crucial to the functioning of all organizations it plays the important role in maintaining and processing all relevant financial information that a company requires for its managing and reporting purposes. There are many sectors in accounting one can focus their career on. The four major Accountants are Public, Management, Government, and Internal Accountant.
