This empirical assignment is based on collecting data from Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, a large-scaled law firm located in Toronto which has began practice in 1896 and with more than 200 lawyers and support staffs. The data has been collected from the law firm’s website with finding in relates to the Partners, Associates, and Firm culture. An insightful discussion will be further discussed below in relates to knowledge from lectures as matter such as the operational structure of law firms, Gender Inequality, and Racial Minority. To begin with, all the data collected is based on the subset group with last name from m-z. There are 53 people are listed as partner and chair, and 34 peple are considered as Associates. Meanwhile, in specific, there are 10 females partners out of 53 and 15 female associates out of 34 within the group of m-z. This data suggests man is the dominant gender in the most crucial role in the profession (as a lawyer); yet, there might be some positive changes to the new energy in this firm as there are more than a half of associates are female. In other words, it is possible to predict that this firm is matching towards a greater gender equality working environment as well as indicating a social improvement that there will be greater amount of female working in the legal profession.
