Nowadays, Acson have conducts online marketing and selling of product and services which is called online store and very convenience for customers. Although the website is look very interesting and easy login. But also have some poor design points. Let we discuss it.
Identifies the good and poor design points
Good:
Deep information- Clean, reduced clutter
Model -each model and feature is writing down very clear in detail. For example, detail in how many of its capacity, sound level even free gift given.
Prices - prices are showing according the each model in clearly. We can compare the prices with other company then only we decide either to buy or no. worth or no.
Font size – also associated with making text easy to read. It being easily adjusted in size on the webpage. For example, target audience is older and so more likely to have failing eyesight. font size is acceptable. Not so small not so big. so the information can listing down in one page. More information per screen.
(99designs, 2011)Collapsed content- Acson website is to declutter the user interface design and to hide non-essential options and widgets under one link which will expand and collapse on a user’s request. Its especially helpful with pages that contain lot of interface elements for settings and options. These look most intimidating to end users, so hiding the unnecessary components makes things look much simpler.
Attractive- the main colour is using red in colour. Look sharp and attracting.
Digital power- alternative display of information
Keep it simple- Acson is an excellent because they developing a simple and understood web presence.
Bad:
Product picture - product picture too small and blur. Confusing the customers. the picture should take all the dimension. Moreover, when we want to look a product picture we have to click on the picture then only can see in the bigger size. It should point the picture and show enlarges directly.
Acson we care we share- “don’t make me think”..the point being that using the site should be instinctive and leaving users to concentrate on the objective of their visist. this slogan is confusing pp. when we look at this we cannot direct associated what they selling or services. For example, we compare with York. York slogan is time to get comfortable..it showing very clear.
Language- explanation only in English.
Hidden of Term and condition-
Discuss the navigation and its problems
Context sensitive navigation- Acson is a great way to declutter the design. They only showing certain important information on the main page. For example, their online store, register warranty and product put on the left hand side.
User friendly- (Acson, 2012)Beside that make thing easy on the eyes. This refers to both aesthetically and with regard to making things undemanding to read. No garish colours, flashing or moving images, music or any other “novelty” that does nothing to help the site meet its objectives. Pp expect it dark text on a light background.
Content chunking- Acson is using the technique of presenting a large amount of content in smaller visual chunks, so it’s easier for pp to read and mentally digest. For example, Acson is splitting this content into several sections with headings and accompanying pictures makes it a lot easier to read compared to long monotonous stream of text.
Discusses the effectiveness of hyperlinks used
Loading time- in the early days of the web, research suggested that around eight seconds was as long as most pp was willing to wait for a page loading. The widespread availability of broadband has reduces this waiting time. When we access the web page in Acson. Its showing very fast. it simply and quickly.
Offer a value proposition- a reason for visitors to stay. For example, free gift, warranty, and easier in shopping cart only in few steps.
Direct and guide visitors deeper into the site. For example, “read more” writing in red colour font.
Discuss what guidelines appear to have been employed in the design * In slide
Discuss how usable the site is for the target audience and why
Acson online user buying guide- have seven steps to guide visitor from select the desire product into shopping cart and until make payment. It showing step by step in details. Finally the order confirmation email will get from Acson Malaysia sales and service sdh bhd.

Enhance product knowledge- the site will explain why the air-conditioner needs service and maintenance.
Identify improvements and changes required
Additional Language- the Acson website should provide few languages such as mandarin and Malay. So that, visitor can more understandable about the product and services. More user friendly.
Improvement of the Product picture- should take all dimensions regarding the product. Moreover, when we want to look a product picture we have to click on the picture then only can see in the bigger size. It should point the picture and show enlarges directly.
Font size of Term and condition – should writing in proper size and clear.
Focus area- it should highlight the new item or product in promotion.
Online forum provided- on which customer can ask questions about the products and services. So, the company can consider the comment is given and improve it. Even could reduce their cost production.
Discuss how these changes will improve the website and overall user experience * After add in more language in the site, it will more easily to understand for different races of visitors. Besides that, the company website can benefit more target customers.
* Moreover, improvement of the product picture can save the time of the visitor.
* Cleary state the term and condition to avoid customer feel like cheated after bought the product.
