Additional meaning behind the color of the Wallpaper Charlotte Perkins Gilman “The Yellow Wallpaper”

The Room itself represents the author’s unconscious protective cell that has encased her mind, but the color a damp dreary color of yellow would make any one being kept in a room with little to no visitor a little crazy. It not till later in the story at you understands why Jane would hate the color.
But know that yellow shines with optimism, enlightenment, and happiness. Shades of golden yellow carry the promise of a positive future. Yellow will advance from surrounding colors and instill optimism and energy, as well as spark creative thoughts. Which is why when is she in her cell or better known as her room she feels like writing. But in the story “the Yellow wallpaper” the color yellow represents evil and danger, Here is Jane she just had a baby and she is scuffing from a mental breakdown which back then they really don’t understand how the mind works. So Her Husband who really doesn’t seem to really love her because he hardly ever visit her and is too busy with other people. So she is kept lock up in the room because her husband who feels that this type of treatment would help her out, then at the end we find out that it really didn’t work and she is almost like an animal. So the symbolic color of yellow in this story would be as the following, Yellow signifies as mourning here she lost every one she every been with including her baby which in fact they are not really dead they are not allowed to be around her. Plus the yellow also was once wore by executioners, The executioner would be the room cause it cut her off of the world outside. Also yellow was once meant to be that of cowards

Figure 7-1 shows you an example of a CSS rule, which as you can see is made up of two parts: ❑ The selector, which indicates which element or elements the declaration applies to (if it applies to more than one element, you can have a comma-separated list of several elements) ❑ The declaration, which sets out how the elements should be styled The declaration is also split into two parts, separated by a colon: ❑ A property, which is the property of the selected element(s) that you want to affect, in this case the font-family property. ❑ A value, which is a specification for this property; in this case it is the Arial typeface. A style sheet is a grouping of formatting instructions that can control the appearance of many HTML pages at once. If style sheets accomplished this and nothing else, they’d save millions of dollars worth of Webmasters’ time and become an integral part of most Web publishing projects. But they aim to do this and much more as well. The HTML style sheet standard enables you to set a great number of formatting characteristics that were never possible before with any amount of effort. These include exacting typeface controls, letter and line spacing, margins and page borders, and expanded support for non-European languages and characters. They also enable sizes and other measurements to...

They feature witty, outlandish designs that use intense colors and are youthful, provocative, stylish, and unpredictable. The mission of the IMC campaign is to tie the brand image with creative art in order to tell the brand story, strengthen Swatch‘s brand identity among the target audience (young students or professionals, aged 18-25) globally, and consistently incorporate different and relevant mediums (print ad, website, MTV – user-generated content, and online communities) to reach the target audience. The multi-country marketing analysis of The Swatch Group will aid in developing the IMC strategy and campaign for Swatch‘s CreArt (‗creativity‘ + ‗art‘) Collection in the following three countries: Brazil, Japan and Switzerland. When reading this, please be aware that Swatch did not impose an integrated marketing campaign in Brazil; rather, they only held one event and communicated to customers through Twitter. Therefore, the Brazil section is composed mostly of what The Swatch Group should do in order to meet their objectives. Furthermore, the cultural dimensions and components that will affect...

...he Beck Depression Inventory (BDI, BDI-1A, BDI-II), created by Aaron T. Beck, is a 21-question multiple-choice self-report inventory, one of the most widely used instruments for measuring the severity of depression. Its development marked a shift among health care professionals, who had until then viewed depression from a psychodynamic perspective, instead of it being rooted in the patient's own thoughts. In its current version the questionnaire is designed for individuals aged 13 and over, and is composed of items relating to symptoms of depression such as hopelessness and irritability, cognitions such as guilt or feelings of being punished, as well as physical symptoms such as fatigue, weight loss, and lack of interest in sex.[1] There are three versions of the BDI—the original BDI, first published in 1961 and later revised in 1978 as the BDI-1A, and the BDI-II, published in 1996. The BDI is widely used as an assessment tool by health care professionals and researchers in a variety of settings. The BDI was used as a model for the development of the Children's Depression Inventory (CDI), first published in 1979 by clinical psychologist Maria Kovacs.[2] Contents   [hide]  * 1 Development and history * 1.1 BDI * 1.2 BDI-IA * 1.3 BDI-II * 2 Two-factor approach to depression * 3 Impact * 4 Limitations * 5 See also * 6 Notes * 7 Further reading * 8 External links ------------------------------------------------- Development...

The History and Evolution of the Fire Service

...Abstract Ever since man was able to harness the power of fire, he has been trying to control it. From a single bucket wielding man to a complex well trained and organized team have been working on controlling and suppressing fire for millennia’s. Many simple and complex tools have been developed to help in the control and suppression of fire. Organized fire brigades can be dated back to the earliest civilizations because of the fear of fire and the damage that it can cause. Many great infrastructures have fallen to the devastation of fire and have taken large groups of dedicated members to control those fires. Over the past century, the fire service has become more than just fire suppression, now these dedicated individuals are trained to rescue people, control hazardous materials, perform fire prevention duties, and attend to the injured. Many people think that the fire service is a fairly modern idea due to the industrial revolution. Some researchers have said that firefighting was first started and organized in ancient Egypt. There is evidence of firefighting machinery was used in Ancient Egypt, including a water pump that was developed by Ctesibius of Alexandria in the third century BC which was later improved upon in a design by Hero of Alexandria in the first century BC. One of the first well documented fire brigade or suppression team was the ones of the Roman Empire. The Roman emperor Augustus is credited with instituting a corps of fire-fighting "watchmen" in 24 BC....
