ADHD a Hoax? or Misconception
ADHD better known as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is overwhelmingly rampant in the youth of today. ADHD was not considered a actual mental disorder until the seventies and early eighties. Before the drastic change in the psychological community, children who were constantly fidgety, bored or did not pay good attention in class were considered lazy, a daydreamer or perhaps a bit rowdy. These days, as soon as that type of behavior is noticeable it is automatically labeled as a mental disorder. These symptoms area huge determining factor for children in this country and sometimes there are never is direct reasoning behind the diagnosis. We are never sure on how to say that a person is conditioned with ADHD we just assume that maybe because they are troublesome or hyperactive they’re prone to the “disease”. The inattentive children or easily distracted children are said to be ADHD prone. The National Institute of Mental Health reported that inattention children symptoms are easily distracted, miss details, forget things, and frequently switch from one activity to another, have difficulty focusing on one thing, become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless they are doing something enjoyable. But are these not specific situations that other non-ADHD people suffer from also, or are we just trying to use a simple situation to be a background or pedestal for this ADHD epidemic. Doctors should do legitimate tests to prove that an individual has ADHD not just because they might not meet the status of a normal child or act a certain way that’s just stereotyping these poor individuals with actions they do maybe
