Adios Barbie is a book that includes edited collection of stories that are written by young women that describe their own struggles with the rejection of their bodies and beauty. There are many different stories in this book that everyone can relate to in a way. For example, while reading Marisa Naorra’s tale called, “Becoming la Mujer.” She describes how she was trying so hard to be thin, thinner, dieting, starving, bingeing, puking, sleeping so she would not eat anything, exercising thinking that every mile she ran she would loss one pound.
