With any merger there are changes that have to be made in order to identify policy and procedure changes, and how these changes will affect the facility as well as their patients.
Mergers allow our facility to improve and our ability to provide wider-ranging and more sophisticated care for our patients. It will also allow the facility to reduce operational costs.
There are always advantages and disadvantages to any merger; one prospect of this merger is to regain stability both financially and collectively. While the use of the internet is useful with business communications, and the editing of file information via e-mail correspondence, everyone must use caution when doing so for security reasons and HIPAA rules on patient privacy. The internet can also allow for education of certain topics; such as Diabetes and Heart issues. Health Literacy can be used by social media as a means of helping people understand a topic that they may not quite understand. This can also be beneficial in small towns where there may be limited or no health care for individuals.
“Health Care providers need to recognize consumers use social media as a source of information on providers. They find forums, read reviews and compare ratings collected on doctors or health care providers.” (Parker, 2012)
With this in mind, communication with the public, and the facilities current staff, and patients need to use caution when sharing ANY personal information while on the internet. Always make sure that you are using protected sites, and be aware of people in close proximity to you that could see this information. It may seem overdramatic now, but if you are of victim of identity theft, or a HIPAA violation you may not agree. Certain programs such as telemedicine are now being utilized by

...process is used to produce ideas but the critical thinking process is used to evaluate and refine ideas and solutions. Applying criticism to ideas and solutions reduces the risk for error and makes good ideas even better (Ruggiero, 2009). In this paper criticism will be applied to a solution selected to improve morale at Wheeling Hospital. Arguments will be evaluated and revised resulting in a refined and final solution to the problem. Original Issue Wheeling Hospital is adding a fifth tower and the time for departments to move into the new, advanced tower is approaching quickly. Chief executive officer Ron Violi thinks the transition is an exciting time for him and his staff members. It was a major shock to Violi when he learned more than three quarters of his staff was unhappy and not excited for the move into the new tower. Through close observation of my fellow coworkers, I discovered the discontent and feelings of frustration. These feelings originated because of the lack of communication from administration relating to tower five. Staff members are unaware their expectations, their workload, or how they are supposed to function without knowledge of where equipment, departments, and items necessary to perform their duties are located. Staff members have concerns about shortages and are not notified of any changes or updates relating to the new tower. The morale at the hospital is low and staff members need motivation to have success in tower five. ...

...plan on majoring in Business Administration and Political Science. I chose Business Admin as my first major because it was a good solid major with good job opportunities; in particular I want to be in Health Administration. The health care business is something that will be around as long as there are people who are going to be hurt and nurses and doctors who need people over them. My second choice is Political Science because I've always had an interest in several of the jobs offered in the field. Foremost, I've always wanted to be an FBI criminal profiler, psychology is something I've always loved and wanted to pursue ever since I was a child. When I was in middle school I got my hands on a college psychology textbook and ever since then, I've been learning. I wanted to choose it as my first choice major but with the economy and the amount of money it would require to start a practice I had to desist from pursuing it, with this major I would have a chance to work in the government and pursue my childhood dream of studying the human mind. Another interest, being a lobbyist, my own personality helps add to this I believe; I'm very stubborn and I love to argue for what I believe is right. I have a lot I want to achieve and I know people say this a lot, but I will be successful with whatever I put my mind too, by God’s grace. II. Second Essay, Issues I feel strongly about: An issue that's always haunted me ever since I was a child was the issue of self-esteem. Coming from...

Pursue a Master in Business Administration

...To pursue a master's in business administration Gary M. Newsome MGT/521 August 17, 2010 Stephanie Jackson To pursue a master's in business administration Many people set goals in life with a mindset of accomplishing these goals, and there is no more important goal than achieving a higher degree in education. It always has been my ultimate goal to achieve a master’s in business administration (MBA), but because of the time constraints and long deployments of military service, attending an institution of higher education for an MBA was out of the question. After 30 years of military service and beyond the age of 50, there is no better time to conquer my dreams and achieve my personal goal in obtaining my MBA. This accomplishment will open new a new path toward venturing into another outstanding career. The value of higher education is an important factor for advancement. The opportunity to excel would be the primary reason to achieve this goal while gaining the skills, and knowledge, of management. A position of increased responsibility requires much knowledge to be successful and a company, or business, may fail without these credentials. Mintzberg stated that “managers are important people who are supposed to sit above others, removed and disconnected from the work of making products and selling services. The higher they go, the more important they are, so that on reaching the top, becoming Chief Executive Officer; they are the corporation even if they arrived yesterday...

Chapter 9 – Deeds of Company Arrangement Example problem Sheilabeerite Skip Pty Ltd was a waste removal company whose directors appointed Ben as their administrator. The second meeting of creditors in June has agreed to a DoCA of nine months’ duration with Ben as deed administrator. The DoCA proposes to sell some collection areas in which the company operated but that were considered unprofitable. This would mean reducing the current workforce by four drivers. It also proposes that the company move to a service contract with each of its customers and drop the casual one-off service it offered to anyone who rang or otherwise approached the company. The DoCA contained a clause that employees would discount their long service leave entitlements by 50 percent in an attempt to assist the restructure. Ben has had no experience administering a DoCA with such a clause and he is uncertain of the expectations of him as administrator. Another clause in the DoCA provides that unsecured...
