Adolescents with behavioral disorders

Noticing the change in behavior What is considered normative and emotionally healthy within one culture may be considered maladaptive in another, and what is considered respectful and honorable behavior in one culture maybe a sign of emotional disorder in another (Michelle E. Martin,2011). When first coming across this type of behavior I thought to myself this is a bad child. Without paying attention to the signs that he/she carried that could have easily misunderstood as a child in need of some tough love. This behavior is not only a cry for help it also calls for desperate measures. An adolescent with a conduct disorder is an adolescent with a trouble future ahead of them if he/she is not helped in the near future. An adolescent with the tendency to misbehave can be placed in many categories depending on his/her long term and short term actions. It also depends on the gender, the race, and the age of the adolescent. Conduct disorder a consistent pattern of behaviors in which social mores and rules are habitually broken and the rights of others are consistently violated without regard to the other person's feelings. There are two types of conduct disorders; childhood-onset type and adolescent-onset type. Childhood-onset type ranges from ten years old on down, throwing tantrums, fighting, screaming things of that nature. Adolescent-onset type ranges from the age ten on up, fighting, stealing, doing drugs, etc. Children are often put into two categories they are either good or bad, so I have been told. Children have the tendency to be sponges, whatever it is that they see going on the mimic it in some way shape or form. Adolescents tend to continue on behaving in a way that is most rewarding to them. For instance if a child steals a toy out of the store and get caught he/she is known as a thief. They have to deal with whatever punishment that comes their way. Now a child that steals from the store on numerous occasion and get caught they are considered to be kleptomania. They do not care about the consequences or anyone around them. This falls under the category of conduct disorder and kleptomania is a sickness. Adolescent A and Adolescent B Adolescent A wants to fit in and adolescent B has the conduct disorder. There is not a person living that has not at one time or another tried to pack up and run away because their parent made them mad. The difference between that adolescent A, an adolescent B with conduct disorder is that adolescent A never made it out the door or then went to a relative house for an hour. Which adolescent B left and didn't come back for days at a time. Adolescent B refuse to abide by the rules that are given to them, in their mind no rule applies to he/she. The only one that matters is them and no one else. Every person they come in contact with adolescent B who wants to help in their mind is a threat to them and stands in their way to whatever it is that they want to do. So hurting he/she is not going to be a big deal to them. Adolescents that participate in drug use on a regular basis are considered to be a drug addict versus an adolescent that tried them and do them every blue moon or doesn’t do them at all. Adolescents with conduct disorders will not go to school because they are having interpersonal problems, empathy disorders, suffer from depression, anxiety and have an impaired social relationship. They are not connecting with their family members nor are they functioning on a normal adolescent level. Adolescent B has gone beyond being the black sheep of the family. He/she is suffering from ADHD where their function in life is limited but persistence and frequent. Adolescent B are inadequate with the everyday life functions because they mind only takes them so far and allow them to do so much.
