Adolf Hitler and WWII
The reason I've chosen to write about Hitler is that he was a significant person, who has changed history, despite being an evil man. It's also because I'm interested in the reasons behind why he did what he did and lived like he lived.

Background
Hitler was born in april 1889. During his childhood his father abused him and his mother and three of his brothers died before he was even born. This might be one of the reasons he grew up to be the man he became. Except for this not much of Hitler’s childhood is known. It’s however known that he had good grades in primary school but worse in secondary school.

Adult life and Career
Hitler had always dreamt of being an artist. His father didn’t allow it but when he died in 1903

DBQ Essay: Causes Of WWII

...Causes of WWII The road to appeasement, and thus to armed conflict, began in 1932 when the National Socialist party took control of the German government through a congressional election that gave Hitler authoritarian power. Tyranny must be fought when it first occurs as it is a virus that can spread if it is not eliminated. As Winston Churchill said, “I have always held the view that keeping peace depends on holding back the aggressor.” Unfortunately, Churchill’s predecessor believed in appeasement and diplomatic means when dealing with Germany, choosing not to believe that Germany had “made up its mind to dominate the world by fear” already. Unfortunately, by the time Great Britain, France, and Italy, had no choice but to knowledge this, plunging into WWII was their only chance of stopping Germany and Adolf Hitler’s reign of terror. There were many instances where one would hope that the international community would step in. The League of Nations was created by the Treaty of Versailles. However this organization did not react to earlier similar aggressions. For example,Italy attacked Ethiopia in 1935. Haile Selassie was the emperor of Ethiopia at the time. He approached the League of Nations and asked them to defend them with military sanctions. They did nothing. Selassie’s response was that “God and history will remember your...

Hitlers Personal Security

...Protection Strategies Adolf Hitler led with violence, aggression, manipulation, and military strategy, and because of that he became a target of assassination. This developed into an acute paranoia, which led Hitler to implement some of the most brilliant security strategies seen to date. Before an understanding of the reasoning behind the assassination attempts can be deduced, an accurate depiction of Hitler’s early rise to power is necessary. Adolf Hitler was born in Austria on 20 April, 1889. Being the son of a poor young cottager, Hitler was never satisfied with his stature in life. He fled to Germany to avoid being arrested for dodging military service in Austria. This did not define him, as he went on to serve in the German Army during World War I and was wounded twice. He received several medals, and maybe more important, found a direction in life in which he had been searching. World War I left Germany in a state of unease. The sanctions placed on the country left it almost financially crippled. Hitler used this vulnerability to come in and take the nation by storm. This, coupled with his determined necessity to completely rule Germany, was a recipe for disaster. It wasn’t long before Adolf Hitler became a party leader, and from the very beginning he needed, at least some form, of protection. Hitler emerged as not only a politician, but the leader of the most hostile and violent political party in the country. Adolf Hitler’s personal security...

How Is Adolf Hitler Related To The Holocaust

...The Holocaust was one of the most traumatic and horrific events of the 20th Century. It played a very significant part of not only World War II (WWII) but of Germany and Europe’s history. WWII lasted from 1939-1945. Throughout this time many innocent European people were killed because of their Jewish religion or their ancestor’s Jewish religion or culture. In the years of WWII, Germany was under Adolf Hitler’s total rule. Hitler and his Nazi party planned to kill all nine million European Jews. This mass scale genocide was referred to by the Nazi’s as “the final solution”. Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany after The Great Depression when Europe and the rest of the world was in an economic crisis. Some elements of European society and in...

Mein Kampf Book Report

...Adolf used this story as propaganda to try to persuade the German population into getting into a movement that would transform the German society into a one based race. As Germany was in a financial, political, and social downfall at the time, the book became intriguing to the German population. As Adolf wrote two volumes, he shows zero mercy in giving his perspective on powerful expansion using brutal force and Semitism. Although the book contained profanity, frequent content of grammatical errors, and what seemed to be unachievable goals/targets, the book was able to produce over five million copies in eleven different...

Causes of Wwii

...To what extent was the Treaty of Versailles a cause of WWII? Treaty of Versailles was the main trigger that sparked the start of the most devastating war in human history. Due to its enforcement and terms, it caused the ideological fascist movement after WWI, German’s patriotism, and the violent expansion of Germany’s economy which violated terms of the treaty, ultimately resulting to World War II. After WWI the ideology of the Fascist movement became influential in Germany in reaction to the harsh terms of the Versailles Treaty. Fascistic views of political violence, war, and imperialism as a means to achieve national rejuvenation were appealed to the citizens (Wikipedia, 2014). This was in response to the Treaty of Versailles. After WWI, Germany was on a road to repair, but they were handicapped, and weakened by the terms of the treaty (History Learning Site, 2000). They had no major military or strong industry to support the growth of the country (Hikman, n.d.). The people were angered and infuriated by the ruinous effect of the Treaty. Hence, the nation realised that in order to regain the national strength, Germany would need to take on board a new form of political system that was iron-fisted and disregard anything but the restoration of pride (English Online, n.d.). This brought the rise of Hitler, the Nazi Party and Fascism. Adolf Hitler was a radical advocate who fought to overturn the harsh Treaty and restore Germany to her former glory (English Online, n.d.)....

The Effects Of The Treaty Of Versailles On Germany

...In the years between WWI and WWII, Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany, a country recently devastated by the loss of the first world war. At the end of WWI all the countries involved in the war meet in Versailles to discuss the terms of peace. The peace treaty, known as the Treaty of Versailles, placed harsh punishments on Germany. Germany was forced to pay for the cost of the war, and accept full blame for the war. Also, in order to weaken Germany, territory was taken from Germany and given to other countries, or used to create new countries. These terms of peace left Germany impoverished and its people angry. Hitler’s inevitable rise to power was a direct result of the reparations, war guilt, and loss of territory demanded by the Treaty...

Operation Overlord Research Paper

...War I, people believed that there was no way that the world can plunge into war against each other once again. Unfortunately, as they found out a few decades later, that was not the case. War reparations that Germany was forced to pay after WWI tanked their economy, as well as the Great Depression that affected everyone else. It hit Germany the hardest and they were forced to somehow find a way out of debt. Because of this, Germany was weakened politically and emotionally, and a person like Adolf Hitler was easily able to persuade the people that he will make Germany the best nation in the world, as well as the rise of his Third Reich. Separately, Japan and Italy wanted to also become powerful nations and hypothetically rule the world, but needed help in achieving that goal, so they allied with Nazi Germany in order to form the Axis of Power. The opposition to the Axis was called the Allies, and they are mainly led by the United State, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union. As time passed, WWII would become the bloodiest battle of all time, casualties as high as 70 million, about 30 million more than at the end of WWI (Cole, 700-705). After WWI, Germany began to change by adopting...

Macbeth

...descended him into madness, despair and evil, just as Hitler has done in past history. According to Wikipedia, “power is the ability to influence or control the behavior of people. The term authority is often used for power perceived as legitimate by the social structure. Power can be seen as evil or unjust, but the exercise of power is accepted as endemic to humans as social beings”. I agree with this quote, because that is a statement that both Macbeth and Hitler lived by being the power hungry leaders they were. Macbeth in the beginning on Shakespeare's play was decent man, he was a noble soldier. In the first act, Macbeth is described by Duncan as a kind and brave hearted soldier.   ”Like valor’s minion carved out his passage, Till he faced the slave; Which ne'er shook hands, nor bade farewell to him, Till he unseamed him from the nave to th' chops,” (Act 1 Scene 2 19-20 ). This portrays Macbeth as a fearless, and gutsy in the face of his enemies, the Thane of Cawdor. Leader of Nazi Germany, the creator of genocides and arguably solely responsible for the European half of the Second World War, Adolf Hitler (considered to be one the most evil persons the world has ever known), probably needs no introduction. Hitler was of similar status to Macbeth. Adolf Hitler before labeled an absolute ruler had a good reputation as a political leader, who only wanted the best for the Germany that the Americans left in ruins. Hitler came to power by democratic election and like Macbeth...

Russian Expansion Post Ww2

...need for retribution. During WWII, Adolf Hitler had brokered a policy with the Soviet Union, the German-Soviet Pact, with promises not to attack one another and to supply one another with manufactured goods from Germany, and raw materials from the Soviets. As we, all know from High School History class, this was only a temporary way to keep the Soviets from countering Hitler’s defeat of Poland. The National Socialist and Adolf Hitler considered the mass Russian lands to be a prime location for a future long-term settlement, and their politics to be an expansion of the Jewish community. Since the German assault on the world began, they always viewed the USSR to be an enemy with intentions to deliver the same fate to the Soviet Jews as he did in the European countries. In June 1941, Germany launched its first invasion against the Soviets, with complete disregard of the nonaggression pact. Three German army groups overwhelmed the unsuspecting Soviets and easily advanced deep into the Russian territory, with troops following with mass murder operations, and eventually stopping in September 1941, at the gates of Leningrad. The German forces occupied a large portion of Western USSR for nearly two years. However, in the winter of 1943, the German army suffered a massive defeat, with nearly 100K soldiers surrendering, at Stalingrad to the Soviet military. The USSR forces went on winning several battles along their way to Germany’s defeat and the end of WWII in Berlin, Germany. With the...

How Did Joseph Stalin Rise To Power

...The dictator of Nazi Germany was Adolf Hitler. He seemed to have a hectic childhood. He was born in Braunau am Inn, Austria, on April 20th 1889, and when he was three he moved to Germany. He and his dad always were disagreeing with each other because Adolf liked fine arts while his dad preferred business. When Adolf’s brother died Hitler became detached and introverted from his family. Early in his life Adolf showed a love for German nationalism by hating Austria-Hungary. Before Hitler became a dictator he had to get his power. So, the German Great Depression gave Hitler a huge opportunity, they would now be open to more extreme options. In 1932 Hitler ran against Paul von Hindenburg for president although Hitler lost. But, in order to promote...

Prisoners During The Holocaust

...The Holocaust “There is no past, no present, no future, rootless, with no shadow.” This is a quote from a Jewish man who was a prisoner during The Holocaust. I believe that this quote explicitly explains how miserable the Jews were during this gruesome, unspeakable chapter in history. I can’t even imagine how it felt to be imprisoned by a group of people just because of my ethnicity. After World War II (WWII) was the beginning of this historically acclaimed event. Germany owed a number of nations money, including the United States (U.S.), for supplying the Germans throughout both World War I (WWI) and WWII with war supplies. The country soon found itself in an economic depression, and did not know what to do about it. A man named Adolf...

Holocaust

...Justin Hrabosky Mr. Wojcik WWII Through Film 7 March 2016 Holocaust The Holocaust was an extremely unfortunate and tragic event that was led by the leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler, and all of his followers. The Holocaust was the systematic killing of over 6 million Jewish people in Europe, as well as Slavic and homosexual people, with the casualty total reaching up to 11 million. After World War One, Germany was blamed for most of the destruction done across Europe. Because of this, they were forced to compensate for much of the decimation done to many countries. This put them in a state of financial turmoil. However, while the majority of Germans were impoverished, the Jewish population saved their money and were ahead of most people in the classes. This somewhat revived the tradition of anti-Semitism throughout Europe. The disdain for Judaism came to a head when Adolf Hitler rose to power of the Nazi party. “In Germany, Hitler and the Nazis succeeded in segregating the Jews from the rest of the population, despite the fact that German Jews were among the best assimilated in Europe. Jewry was also linked to communism (in ‘Judeo-Bolshevism’), thus making the Nazis capable of presenting the Jews as one the German middle class’s greatest fears.” From 1939 to 1945, Germany began to segregate the Jewish population from the rest of Germany in fenced-off areas called ghettos. Other Jewish people were taken on trains and transported to either death camps or work camps. The...
