Technology has helped the world to become closer since the share of information has become easier with the internet and television. Ways of communication, such as advertisements, have helped companies to create awareness, promote, and sell their products and services. Children have also been highly exposed to different types of advertisements, which have helped them to build their taste and preferences since young ages. Most of the times, however, advertisements have contributed for unhealthy habits and even obesity. On the other hand, the ability of sharing information, do online researching and read other people’s reviews have helped people to become more aware of unsafe, hazardous or defective products. In this paper, I am going to talk about my point of view of advertisements for children (mainly regarding food products) and safety recalls.

I believe that advertisement for children is such a debatable issue because it values two different things. First, it involves freedom of speech, which I believe that companies have the right of promoting their products and services the way they want. If companies have become more experienced and intelligent about promoting toys and foods for children, high sales will be their reward. Therefore, I do not think it is fair for other people to tell companies how they should advertise their products since their marketing team have studied their whole life to always find the most persuasive way of selling a product. On the other hand, I believe that our human compassion should be put into consideration. Marketing and promotion of products have led to a capitalist world, where the biggest goal of companies is to make money.
