..."Attribution and Social Learning" Please respond to the following:•From the first e-Activity, contrast the advantages and disadvantages of just-in-time learning. Evaluate whether or not this is a valid and worthwhile investment to help increase the productivity within an organization. Describe your personal experience(s) with just-in-time learning.Just in time learning I think is a great advancement in the way we acquire and retain information. Per the “The Head First Formula” article I read it goes into how the brain functions to retain important information. And with this study they are able to create books toaccommodate their research to get all the information you need. The advantage of just in time learning would be the ability to get information quickly andreproduce what you learned, cutting training cost and time needed to train, or even the need for trainers as a lot of just in time learning is now web based either as a video or power point. The disadvantage would be the skipping of fundamentals, it’s nice to get to the bottom line or what the item is for example learning excel, just in time learning would dig into how to start using the software and options, rather than stepping back and explaining more about its background, what can be achieved in details..etcI do think it is a valid and worthwhile investment into an organization but must be very selective on what it will be used for. ...Explain how technology has changed the learning environment. New technology such as E-learning has the use of Internet technologies to enhance knowledge and performance. E-learning technologies have provided learners with the capability to have control over contents, learning sequences, pace of learning, and media database at their fingertips which saves time. It also allows them to tailor their experiences to meet their personal learning objectives. Noe’s thoughts on new technology depicted on p.358 that new technology training methods are superior to traditional methods in one way because they allow trainers to participate in courses at any time or places (Noe, p. 358). I once read a case study which depicted an insurance company who was looking for new ways to cut cost while simultaneously maintaining their competitive edge in the insurance marketing industry. In this scenario, the company was a giant amongst its competitors, and all their employees were grandfathered in as there were practically relatives or good friends of the CEO. When the CEO died, he left the company to his son. After the first year of running the company, his son realize that he could expand the company, increase sales, make a profit, and cut expenses at the same time by using new technology such as multimedia, and E-Services. This was a great idea; very innovative marketing strategy; however, it also meant lay-offs and unemployment for most employees. His concepts for change were based on the...

The Future of Education

...3. 24 Oras: Mga touchscreen na blackboard, gamit sa mga e-classroom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6bn8Du3iYM Who would not welcome e-classrooms in the Philippine educational setting? What would be the advantages and the disadvantages of the e-learning classroom in the Philippines for the elementary and the high school level? These are the advantages of E-Learning. First, E-learning is More Flexible. E-Learning can be done in short chunks of time that can fit around your daily schedule. Instead, you will have a set amount of learning, normally divided into modules, with a deadline in which to do them in. This way, if you want to do all of the learning in one day as you study better this way, you can. Second, It is more convenient. As E-Learning can be done on laptops, tablets and phones – it is a very mobile method. Learning can be done on the train, on a plane or any other time that could normally be wasted. Whilst you used to be confined to the classroom, the whole world can now be your classroom. Third, It has a Lower cost. As just mentioned, E-Learning can be done wherever you have a device capable of doing so. Therefore again you can fit it in to your schedule, but also save money on the costs of travel.Forth, Tailor it to you. E-Learning courses aren’t confined to be fixed to try and suit the needs of the majority. If you feel you already know a particular area well and don’t need to spend an hour on it again, then you can skim over it and concentrate that time on something...
