Advertising Stew: Marketing Communication/312.

Discuss three (3) reasons Luis should hire an external advertising agency for the Dinty Moore campaign:

Dinty Moore has been around for 75 years as a beef stew company and the reason a company should reinvent itself or its’ product is the new age and market and the exposure to a younger and faster group of consumers. A few of the reasons why a company should hire an external company is “You don’t have the time or energy to do it yourself.” Just like other marketing functions, consistent, strategic, and measurable advertisement is something that needs to be planned for and executed over a long period of time. Advertisement is something that only gets stronger as you put more effort into it. Another reason is to “Maximize a Launch: Most businesses understand how crucial launching a new product or service is to the success of your business. Advertisement is much more than just writing a press release and putting it over a wire service. Having a advertisement firm who can maximize media relations, social media, events, award opportunities and other marketing related activities in conjunction with a major release can give you boost up as you launch your product. Utilizing an outside agency for your launch you need to make sure that you have a system in place once the launch is over to continue all the energy and the momentum you have built. Also to “Revitalize a

...Assignment 1: ‘’Advertising Stew’’ Ken Ernst Strayer University Professor Brad Bridges November 4, 2012 Abstract In this paper we will briefly look at the company Hormel Foods who sell the Dinty Moore Beef Stew Line of goods how they got started and what kind of goods they sale. As this paper continues we will be introduced to Luis who is a new brand manager for the Dinty Moore Beef Stew line. Luis Arroyo has been assigned a project to develop a new advertisement campaign for the entire line of the beef stew line of products. There are several questions that need to be answered before he continues his new assignment. The first question that should be asked of Luis should he consider hiring an outside advertising agency to help create and launch this new campaign. What are some of the benefits that an outside advertising agency would bring to the campaign and would it help the line of products? As Luis considers these options he also needs to figure out what kind of research and planning that needs to go into identifies Dinty Moore’s most loyal consumers and the potential for new consumers. So as Luis’ adventures continues with this new job we should be able to answer these outstanding questions and Luis will be able to bring new consumers to the product. Dinty Moore is a product of the Hormel Foods Corporation which is based out of Austin, Minnesota which was once known as Geo.A Hormel & Co. The company was established in 1891 by George A. Hormel who was a child...

...sticks to decide what each would bring to the potluck. Kathy would bring beef stew, Tucker—corn muffins, Sandy—turnip greens, Maggie—potato salad, Amy—barbecue rib tips, Wendy—soft drinks, plates, and the table coverings, and I would bring a lemon cheesecake. When Memorial Day came, one of the staff members, Maggie, decorated the tables in the nurses’ lounge. On one of the tables, Maggie laid out the plastic plates, utensils, napkins, and cups together. Pepsi Cola, Coca Cola, Sprint, Faygo, and Mountain Dew cans chilled in a large size styrofoam cooler filled with ice on the floor. Maggie turned down the slow cooker from hot to warm and added Kathy’s beef stew to the second table along with all the other food. Two square tables surrounded by round tables were all covered with white table cloths. Maggie had the tables decorated beautifully. The plates and napkins were solid blue and trimmed with flowers, with the forks and spoons matching. As some of us put our patients to bed, others went to the nurses’ lounge to enjoy the food we’d all brought. When it was time for me to have a break, I went to the lounge to enjoy the feast as well. I saw Kathy Keller standing in line with her plate in her hand waiting to serve herself. She was very talkative and happy, bragging to us all about how good her beef stew was and urging everyone to try it. I took a plate and the serving spoon, dipped the spoon in the stew and put it on my plate. I also got some ribs and salad. Kathy and I sat down...

...where, on seats beneath the trees, the old men group of an evening to drink their ale and gossip over village politics; with low, quaint rooms and latticed windows, and awkward stairs and winding passages. We roamed about sweet Sonning for an hour or so, and then, it being too late to push on past Reading, we decided to go back to one of the Shiplake islands, and put up there for the night. It was still early when we got settled, and George said that, as we had plenty of time, it would be a splendid opportunity to try a good, slap-up supper. He said he would show us what could be done up the river in the way of cooking, and suggested that, with the vegetables and the remains of the cold beef and general odds and ends, we should make an Irish stew. It seemed a fascinating idea. George gathered wood and made a fire, and Harris and I started to peel the potatoes. I should never have thought that peeling potatoes was such an undertaking. The job turned out to be the biggest thing of its kind that I had ever been in. We began cheerfully, one might almost say skittishly, but our light-heartedness was gone by the time the first potato was finished. The more we peeled, the more peel there seemed to be left on; by the time we had got all the peel off and all the eyes out, there was no potato left – at least none worth speaking of. George came and had a look at it – it was about the size of a pea-nut. He said: “Oh, that won’t...

Scientific Prose

...situations often based on misunderstanding. With sparkling humour he criticized the weak sides of human nature. The action is set at Sonning, a picturesque village on the bank of the Thames. The author describes the scenery, namely, a fairy-like nook of Sonning, where the main characters got out. The plot is about that George suggested to cook an Irish stew. The men agreed with George and said that it was a fascinating idea. George gathered wood and made a fire, Harris and the narrator started to peel the potatoes. The narrator had never thought it to be difficult. When the first potato was finished, George came and had a look at it. Then he told Harris and the narrator to scrape them since the potato was about the size of pea-nut. So, they did four potatoes. But George thought that it was absurd, so they washed half a dozen or so more and put them in without peeling. Then the author goes on to say that toward the end Montmorency brought a dead water-rat in his mouth, which he evidently wished to present as his contribution to the dinner. That rat rose up a discussion between George and Harris. After all Irish stew turned out to be a great success. There was something so fresh and piquant about it. And it was nourishing, too. In this story we can dearly distinguish three main characters: the narrator, Harris and George. The text consists of two parts: the descriptions of Sonning and the events, which are happened with the characters. Also, the author’s humour and...

Eating Habit

...EATING HABITS Why do people eat? People eat to survive. Food people eat gives their bodies the energy they need to function. Eating, as a daily activity, is done so many times that could form some eating habits. People say that the current eating habits of a person reflect all of his childhood’s comestible way. Eating habits are a part of a person’s characteristics and an unchanged process over the time. However, I think this concept is not applicable in my case. In my childhood, I always took away any green leaves in my bowl and recognized them as the horrible ingredients. I also ignored the spicy meals which burned my tongue and the tasteless frozen food as all kids did. However, over the time I definitely changed my edible pattern from a child with appreciating vegetables, enjoying spicy taste, and adapting frozen meals. First, my eating habits have been changed from a leafless eater to a green vegetable fan. When I was young, my mom always cooked Pho for me and my father in two separated way. For my dad, my mom made him a large bowl of Vietnamese style beef noodle with all the herb ingredients and fresh vegetable. For me and my little brother, my mom made others bowls without any vegetable element. I recalled she served me the unique Pho with only thick noodle, sliced chicken meat and hot brown soup. My grandma always kept complaining to her about my unhealthy carnivorous diet, but my mom couldn’t tolerate her children eat food they disliked. For such a long time until...

The Beef Stew

...Texas A&M University Commerce Case 2: Beef Stew CWID: 50132828 1. Should Luis look to hire an external advertising agency or perform most of the task in-house? Why? As the new brand manager faced with this kind of task , the objectives he outlined are as follows; to project a strong image of Dinty Moore beef stew products, knowing more on role price in purchasing decisions as well as consumers, getting more information about consumer promotions which would be more effective with external advertising agencies than in-house the reason is not farfetched, as a matter of fact the external agencies specializes more on consulting and giving advice suggestions on how to project a strong image and theme, the external agency also assist in selecting company logos and a strategic slogan, that would complement Dinty Moore brands better. External advertising agencies would also help plan and purchase media time and space for the products to be advertised and review advertisements better before putting it in the media thereby creating better opportunities to access top talent, which is what Luis needs, the company already satisfies the average need of their customers so an external agency is a better choice than the in-house. Luis also would have access to un biased opinions using an external agency 2. If an external agency is chosen, what relevant experience would be most helpful to Luis and the Dinty Moore brand?
