“You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.” ―

Dear fellow Grade 7s, now isn't the time for us to make tough and rapid decisions, it’s the time to make mistakes, and not regret them, because no one’s perfect. You can have a crush on someone- a lot. You can also go change your dream, then change it again, because nothing is permanent. To me, as a new student from all the way from the other side of the Earth, this year is letting me go back to where it all began, sharing my dreams once more, and rediscovering just who I am. Worried that I might not fit in, or be friendless, since most pupils here have known each other since little, so who am I to add on to their friend list? At least that’s what I once thought. However, Mr Fisher, Mr Shoub, my S.I.S.T.A.R.S. (who are my sisters and they shine like stars) and my other fellow classmates have all helped make me stronger, and let me know that I am still who I was all along. Realizing that I should love myself just the way I am, they have lead me to take risks I would’ve never taken without their support. You have all let my insecurities slowly fade away. Yes, I’ve had many regrets and bad memories throughout the year, but it has made the good ones even more special. My advice is to make as many mistakes while you can, Grade 7s. Because that way, someday, when they ask us again about our dreams… we won't have to guess anymore.
We'll know deep down in the bottom of our hearts what our dreams are.
